BULLSHIT. Federal law mandates ANY defense contractor caught gouging or committing FRAUD against the US will be BANNED from further government contracts for at least 5 years. HALLIBURTON was caught 6 times defrauding the US Government in it's Iraq operations and paid multiple fines in the millions YET they continue to recieve no bid contracts. WHY? Also, there are DOZENS of contractors providing the same services/equipment that Halliburton does.

The 650,000 was arrived at by knocking on the doors of every residence in certain towns and then collating and interpolating the numbers. They asked every Iraqi household "have you lost a family member in the last 4 years to violence or disappearance"? I would say 655,000 is MUCH more accurate than the official government number. 1. you can't trust the government (US or Iraqi) and 2. the official count is only the bodies claimed at the morgue. How many go unclaimed and lost?

Eisenhower's quote doesn't say anything about "trying to surrender." Does it? He was making a military analysis, and in his opinion, they were already defeated. A defeated nation which still required invasion and battle to bring down its armed forces and control the region. The relation is that they both involve terrorists who are killing soldiers and civilians alike, and apparently nobody cares that terrorists are overpowering Iraq's law enforcement, and people don't think it's our duty as the land of the free to help Iraq in its time of need.

The reason Iraq is "in a time of need" is that we bombed the crap out of their nation and destabilised it. Are you forgetting we invaded them to 'get Saddam' and 'get Osama' and 'get the WMDs? Invading Iraq had ZERO to do with helping the Iraqis and ZERO to do with terrorism, and ZERO to do with "our freedom".

US forces have been met with strong opposition from terrorists. They were already there. We have been targeting specifically terrorists. All civilian deaths were from the terrorists that Democrats don't seem to care about just because they're killing Iraqis, not Americans.
It is also destabilized because it's not strong enough to cope with the terrorist threat currently, and we'll pull out once things are back under control.

Hussein hated terrorists or ANYONE who created civil disturbances and possibly threatened his power, it's the reason he wanted nothing to do with Osama Been Forgotten. Hussein insisted on a secular Iraq to keep the Shia from slaughtering the Sunnis. Even Christians/Jews existed peacefully in pre-war Iraq....not anymore thanks to our invasion. If my country was invaded, I'd 'meet the invaders with strong opposition' too. It's destabilised because the initial shock and awe campaign destroyed the water and electric facilities. "Back" under "control"? The goal is regime change not restoration. Iraqis don't want us to put things "back under control"

Unless you're one of the terrorists, which are the ones who met us with the strong opposition. And you say that Iraqis 'don't want us to put things back under control'? You are ignorant of the facts, forgivable because Bush & Co. have done as much as possible to keep ordinary Americans from knowing what is going on over there. The police have not been "overrun by terrorists"- they are now simply an armed faction of the civil war that we have created by meddling in a region that we knew (or cared to know) little about. The blood of those killed because of poor planning is on G.Bush's hands and nobody else's.

You're ignorant because 1. FDR didn't allow most casualty reports to be broadcast during WWII for fear it would bring the nation's morale down, and 2. Please give me an example of reporters in Iraq not reporting something because the gvot asked them not to.
