This scene was so memorable to me not because of how well the effects were done but by the symbolism of how powerful the memory of family & friends, ultimately love, overpowers everything else.
@MrXboxhalolover It's his soul. It's wrong though because the soul is only supposed to comes out when the Dementor gives the Kiss (It clamps its mouth to the victims mouth and sucks it out). This is said to be worse than death and also irreversible.
@SonicFan200000 It's said to be worse. I'm saying this because you cannot experience it and tell people it's worse than death can you? First of all, you can't experience both.
See, scenes like this get me wondering, 'So what is exactly was your happy thought Harry? If you were Peter Pan, I bet you could fly to Alpha Centauri with that if your Patronus is a white nuke.'
its obviously an incorporeal Patronus; it acts more like a broad ranged shield than an active animal thing. Given the stress of the situation, only forming an incorporeal patronus isn't that far fetched.
Ever since I saw “Erizabeth L” by Monty Python I was of the strong opinion that there must also be made an Engrish version of “Hally Pottel”, so that the adventures of him an his friends “Lon” and “Helmione” would be understand in foreign countries as well; so that all the world will hear of his fights against his Nemesis “Vordemolt” and his evil lackeys the “Death Eatels” and of course it should be a surrealistic version on motorized bicycles made by the famous Italian director Visconti!
I LOVE the way they did this scene. It was so perfect it gave me the chills. It still gives me the chills every time I watch it. Best scene in POA by far :)
I was deeply disappointed by this scene. Given the the talent and resources available, you'd have thought a fantastical , glowing white stag patronus would have been depicted: at first rearing up at Harry's invocation, snorting steam in the cold, noble antlers threatening, and then routing the dementors as if some heraldic beast. But no - we get a damp squib. Terrible :(
ahi ahi, ademas de verdad, la mas original en mi opinion es la tercera, y la mas emocionante, y eso que no lucha con voldemort ni nada por el estilo, despues parece que va perdiendo un poco la gracia xd
This scene is amazing... one of the numerous moments that prove how talented and strong wizard Harry is... even with this early age. Who says the opposite is not seeing the same series I'm. Harry Potter«3
1:07 One of my favorite scenes in all of the Harry Potter series. Also the Buckbeak scene is amazing. But thumbs up if this is in your top 10 favorite spell scenes throughout the series!
There is a brilliant chapter called "Delivery and Despair: Christian Keys to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" in the book Looking for God in Harry Potter by John Granger that I seriously recommend before anyone watches this movie again. In fact, the entire book opens up an entirely different way of reading the spiritual depth of the Potter narrative, linking it up to the grand tradition of CS Lewis and Tolkien. A must read for any Potter fans, Christian or not.
@damirdurmic17 I disagree, the 3rd is my favorite in the series and I think it's the best one in my personal opinion. People have their opinions so if you like the last one the best then fine. I personally don't think the last movie is one of the better movies in the Harry Potter series.
(Evil music playing with sounds of the ghost things) "Your dieing... both of you...) *Harry runs up to the edge of the water* "EXPECTO PATRONUUUUM!" (Soothing high voices plus the sound of the spell)
God, this has got to be the best scene created in the Harry Potter Series. It gives me goosebumps because of the fight against good vs. evil.
Interesting point is that in the novel, Hermione is with Harry when he tries to cast a patronus the first time (when with Sirius) but when he tries it the second time (as shown here) Hermoine is not with him (She stays in Hagrids hut.) And here it's the exact opposite =D
I remember watching this in the cinema and being completely overwhelmed by how perfect this seen is. I get pinned in my chair with goosebumps every single time!
@BanuuuH: In Latin - Patronus means "Protector" and in Old Latin it means "Father." So in reality "Expecto Patronus means "I away for a protector" or "I await for my father"
