The ammo box sits too low. If they could make a higher mounting point that would be great. Also does it have an barrel that can be switched out quickly? If so I think it would be a great replacement for the SAW.

The box is mounted in the magazine well, just like a normal 30-round STANAG magazine. They'd have to come up with an entirely different mount system to raise it up any higher. As for the barrel, it is quick-release, which would allow the weapon to sustain high rates of fire if needed.

It will never replace the SAW. It's intended more as a "plug and play" upper receiver for M4 and M16 style guns. It's intended to be like the Beowulf 50cal. You can buy the entire unit, but it won't replace the SAW.

The trigger group controls the hammer so no matter what the upper does unless the lower is full auto then you cannot get full auto. The sear catches the hammer after each shot and releases it when you let off the trigger.

Strange, my Russian 1910 Maxim has been eating steel case for years and after 23,000rds all that I have broken was a firing pin. LOL My question is have you used any? I understand wanting to push your product. But I use steel cased ammo in just about all my guns excluding the Mp5. After 18,000 rds in my M-16 the extractor is just now starting to shows signs needing replacement.

The shirke is just a belt fed UPPER RECEIVER for an existing registered receiver, DIAS and I'd assume with some mods, a lightnig link. This is perfectly legal for someone who already has a machine gun in the AR-15 family.

I'm not sure where you're getting your prices but I've found several in the range of $8500.

Not available to civilians , atleast normal civilians that is. You can't buy a machine gun made after 1986 , this is new so it won't be available.

And yes, the Shrike DOES COST $20,000 last time I checked to contractors/military/law enforcement. Of course that will go down...m16s run only about $1500 to LEO/Military , and $10,000-$12,000 for civilians.

Actually, the Shrike is available to civilians. It is not considered a MG by the BATFE since it's only a upper. And, it's not around $20,000. Down payments were like $1K and most sell for around $5,000.

There's no such thing as "new machine guns."

Civilians, any civilian, can not purchase a machine gun made after 1986. So that means no G36s, FN P90s, or anything else that was came off the factory floor after 1986.

However, the Shrike is not a machine gun. It is simply an upper. It can work with any FA lower, whether it's a RDIAS or otherwise.

Also, there is no license required to purchase Title II weaponry. Both of you, please, shut the hell up.
