I HATE most of todays music because they don't play real instruments. They sing over robotic drum tracks and samples of other peoples music. A REAL BAND with REAL INSTRUMENTS has more feeling and pulls me in.

The industry slowed it. If you listen to the radio, you'll notice that more than half the music does not have musicians. Its all robotic drum tracks and samples of other peoples music. Its quick turnover and cookie cutter. MTV started with rock, then QUICKLY switched to rap and pop. The industry pushed for single artists to feature and not large bands. Its cheaper to pay 1 knucklehead instead of 5 creative people.

this was one of thier "black period" (no Tom P.) for me. I just coulndt listen to them without Tom. Didnt sound like Cheap Trick with out him. Im guessing Im not alone on that. When Tom took time off their record and live ticket sales dropped. Cheap Trick went from headlining and playing arena's back to state fair and small clubs. Tom comes back and BINGO the show goes back on and their popular again.

I would comment on my experience with Cheap Trick but I guess it's a generic forum and wouldn't hit the spot with most folks but I will tell you that I roadied for them in the 90's. Rick is a helluva good man. A lot of fun. And he does not drink, smoke or anything elas. How could that be any fun you might question? Well, I gues it was an experience you had to have for yourself. Cheap Trick is underrated.
