I'm dutch, I dont think the translation is bad at all. Of course when you translate it 1 on 1 you don't get perfect english, but get over that it's about getting an idea what the song's about in my opinion
Homage, homage, homage to this comerade
We thank our gods for his existence
He taps ours beers from early till very late (2x)
Praise him, praise him, praise him for all the golden beer
Hey I am from England and this English sucks my mighty turds. I think you missed a few classes in English, mister. Oh, by the way, is this a Polish song? or a polish song? I have some cutlery left, you know.
@kingaboeboe it's dutch, mister, and I'm sure the translator had more english classes than you in any language, besides your native tongue, so don't be rude to people who make an effort to translate something to your language

he removes one of the horn, thats not correct :P in dutch its 'en voor hem heft men de hoorn', wich means to him they raise the horn ( they raise there horn for the guy who gives them beer)
Gawsch, as I said, I'm Dutch myself and I'm learning German ( it's a regular school subject over here )
Dialect is indeed a difference, but what about the language itself? There's so many differences, for example, the grammar.
Also, how can you compare countries like that? Every single person is a unique individual, so every Dutch person is just as alike with a German, as with a guy from Indonesia ( Well, not completely, but I think you get my point ).
saying anything like that, because you might hurt any self-determined Dutch or German person, in fact any self-determined person from anywhere around the world, by saying just that.
He as in fact his points, the currect spoken language in both Germany and Holland have the same historical roots. Apart from that, we're in the same language family and there are indeed many similarities. However not totally equal as you mentioned. Comparing Dutch to Flemish would make more sense, hence they use a lot of french words. And as a side note, he's comparing languages not us as persons. ps. I'm Dutch myself
Impressive translation for someone who isn't Dutch ^^

'Hij tapt ons onze biertjes van vroeg tot heel erg laat ...'
'He taps us our pints from early till really late.'
(So he's everybody's best friend!)
The fine Eastern Dutch humor in this text cannot be expressed in English. Heidevolk just makes you smile all the time. Love them!
