  • Haha i love the teachers show off!

  • the starting reminds me of harry potter movie series

  • great music,i like it

  • this sounds like it will be too hard to play on the trumpet but it's probably easier than it sounds plus i don't even play the whole song anyway

  • O.o so pro!!!

  • this is VERY good!

  • finally ive found this after years searching! you know..its hard to find music if you dont know the title, composer or anything.. :(

  • This is one my fav renditions of this gorgeous piece. Congrats!

  • Love the celeste!!!

  • Easiest song to play I swear. My orchestra learned it in thirty minutes.

  • @wicked7171 Cool story. After that exhilarating experience, did your orchestra learn to play it well or were you satisfied with that bullshit?

  • PrinceCaspian58 said... (Wow, thank you so much! :D

  • PrinceCaspian58 said... do you guys think this will sound good on a string quartet?

  • A string quartet can play anything - I have the Carlo Martelli SQ arrangement of the complete Nutcracker suite, but the 'Sugar Plum Fairy' is defined by the celeste and clarinet timbres, so the SQ version is aways going to be a bit disappointing. Also the mini-cadenza for the celeste is very tricky to represent by SQ. Martelli leaves it out altogether in his version, and he is a well known and experienced SQ arranger.

  • monkeyinair said... It's not a bad performance but I felt the strings covered the celeste sometimes.

  • It's called conducting from the violin. Notwithstanding it's music a from a ballet but there's no dancing in this. If you want to see dancing go and have a look at the Teleman Viola Concerto.

  • It's called a Celeste

  • chantsun2 said... What is the instrument that play the main melody? It is incredible!!!

  • shoesoflit said... very , very cool. I really want to learn to play the violin.

  • Search for 'songs by Tchaikovsky' - that should lead you straight to it

  • From Tchaikovsky

  • geez that's really good

how old are the people playing it?

  • the orchestra had an average age of 14 at the time, if you exclude the two teachers

  • my choir sings this every year

    chamber choir that is.

  • i haven't seen that one

  • This piece is written for celeste, not glockenspiel.

  • Though that is correct, it still sounded good. We are definitely agreed on the too fast thing though.

  • It's too fast.

  • no, it isn't

  • I see your point, but it would have sounded worse, and anyway I worked hard to train the orchestra - that was a little reward for me

  • tht really rocked!

  • wow

  • Nice !!

  • I bet you didn't realise that you helped someone pass there GCSEs with that video, thanks!

  • That was very beautiful. Thank you.

  • God(Muse) bless you and your students!
