too bad i wasn't there .. they dont make music like this anymore, these days its all electronic crap from people who think a "string" is a woman's underwear lol
I don't like Morse's fast playing in this song. There shouldn't be a hundret-notes-per-second-technique in a slow ballad with some blues feeling. Too bad they never played this song with Blackmore.
Yes that is Don Airey on keys, the ex Rainbow maestro. He is touring with them again this year 2011. Personally chosen by Jon Lord as his own replacement!
@almisr That is maybe a bit extreme..I too prefer the bluesy Blackmoore version however one of the criterions of a great song is the amount of different interpretations it gives rise to and this one is interesting no doubt.
A taste of irony? Don Airey played behind Ronnie Dios vocals AFTER he (Dio) left Rainbow for Black Sabbath. Then, Airey played for Blackmore as Dio went solo. Airey even played for Ozzy and David Coverdale (Whitesnake). Small world, huh?
The fantastic Don Airey, who quotes Albinoni's Adagio in G minor (starting at 0:07). Pure class. For another awesome performance of this song, check out the version played at Montreux. Really tasty Hammond solo from Airey. For more Don Airey, see Colosseum II's "The Scorch" here on YouTube, and Gary Moore's "Still Got the Blues". Great guitar playing as well, with Moore on both songs. Peace:-)
awesome!!!

Steve Morse destroyed this song single handedly!
He is nowhere close to playing blues.
He should stick to whatever he tries to play that is...
Rest is great!
