His foreign policy is clear. Support American interests around the globe and kill terrorists, which also means supporting Israel and putting sanctions on Iran. His stance on alternative fuels is to tap our own resources and to minimize dependency on foreign oil. Creating a self-sufficient nation ultimately leads to more jobs for the people within that nation. Encourage and reward productivity. Allow for the capitalist model to work itself through peaks and valleys without Federal interference...

We have sanctions on Iran, and to say "kill terrorists", you're painting a broad picture of generalities. We all understand that if we had a self sufficient fuel supply we'd be in better shape. You are over generalizing everything, as does Krauthammer. He has no understanding of the nature of being at the world's beck and call. You cannot have just a capitalist system, it will crumble. If you start taking the right to trial away from terrorists; someone angry at you could say that you're a terrorist (then they would toss you in prison with no trial). Without a trial you, daisymom4, would never have a chance to defend yourself against terrorist charges.
The reason we have trials is so we can protect the innocent from false charges. Even if we "know" they're guilty we should have a trial so we don't set bad precedents.

There is a language problem here. We have a dis-connect when we debate what the "terrorists" are. Is there a term to descibe a person that is worse than a criminal? These guys are worse than criminals and given that their actions could potentially devastate all of mankind, then we need to invent new rules to deal with them. The increasing availability of WMD makes them exceptionally dangerous....more-so by far than garden variety criminals.
