I remember watching this season and being convinced she would win even though I was voting for fighting gravity. I thought it was unquestionable, but then that one guy won. I was shocked. She has a better voice than most females 10 years older than her. I do feel that she's too young to be famous so I was somewhat relieved she didn't win but I'm sure she has a gig now anyway.
@LoneWandererDave You've got to be kidding! Too young to be famous? Better voice than most females? (HUGE understatement!). Has A gig? Were Julie Andrews, Tanya Tucker, Stevie Wonder, Judy Garland "too young" to be famous? Relieved she didn't win? Her "gig" includes sold-out concerts, singing for the President twice, a command performance for the Japanese Royal Family. She's in demand for talk shows & venues all over the world. Didn't win= not famous. NOPE! Jackie's a winner all the way!!
@LoneWandererDave Woa geez sorry guys. Obviously you are very large fans of hers, and obviously I didn't care enough to look into it before commenting. I'm happy for her. Hope she doesn't have a screwed up adulthood from the fame like Micheal Jackson, Lindsay Lohan, or Dana Plato.
Seems to be there are a lot of judgmental people out there. Bottom line is this child has got a wonderful voice, so why not just sit back and enjoy what she is giving to all of us! Totally amazing Jackie, bring it on!
She has the voice of an angel. If you'd like to hear another setting of the Ave Maria text sung by a host of angels, check out the American Boychoir performance by Richard Clark (plainchant). It is glorious. Just type "ave maria clark" in the Youtube search box and enjoy!
The girl is good. But I just think that this is just not right to make kids to build there career in a such young age. The voice could not be the same when she will be adult. Robertino Loritti for example as bright. But how many are there bad examples Mozart for example? But Jacie is very talented and pretty, I really hope that won't ruined her future live)))
@sofik964 It was Jackie's choice to have a career in singing at this age. Her parents have said that they are supportive of her no matter what her career choice. Get your facts straight before posting erroneous information on here.
@sofik964 If you were to visit more of Jackie's sites you would find Jackie not to be the run of the mill 10/11 year old. If you go to N.P.B. you will find her eating breakfast at the head table with the President of the United States. Senators, congressmen and Vice President standing up from their tables applauding this child. Jackie is not made to do anything she doesn't want. At home she is treated as a child of 11, cleans her room, washes clothes, load dishs and plays with other kids.
@littlejackrussell12 I' m glad that her parents does not made her to do that. But my point is that she can suffer in her adult life because she is not that loved, and people take her only as a grown up version of little Jackie. Thats what happen to the most of them, even to Mozart. But I hope she will be great, because she is rally talented.
@sofik964 Let us pray you are wrong, as for myself Jackie is like my grandchild would you stop loving your child just because they have grown? If Jackie were to quit singing next week, I will always remember the joy she has giving me with her singing, Jackie will always be loved by people that feel the same as I. Jackie is now a new wonder of the world that people will always want to see and love. That will never be taken from her, that I am sure of.
@sofik964 Your comment is a double-edged sword. You give her somewhat of a compliment, yet you say she's "not that loved." She's one of the most loved people on this planet, not only by her family, but millions of fans. What you're implying is way off the mark! And what happened to "most of them?" Sure, some take a dive,But here are some who haven't:Julie Andrews, Beverly Sills, Stevie Wonder. Hope she'll be great? Singing for the Pres &Japanese Emperor. Not bad?, as well as sold-out concerts.
@bruceh7211 first of all I said wouldn't be so loved when she will be adult, I love her too, as I love Robertino, and second I I said that she will be great when she'll grow up, no need to argue with her being great now. No need to be that negative.
I have a tin ear but at 0:16 when jackie looked to her right it was as if someone in the orchestra may have miss a note, something got her attention. Jackie is a perfectionist with her singing, the orchesta and backups have to be too, or it could throw her off.
I swear by all mighty god if I was really rich, I would buy the services of the worlds best hackers so they could track down all the people who, for whatever reason, hit the 'dislike' button on any of Jackies videos. I would go to wherever they lived and rid the world of such disgraceful, despicable, ignorant people, each and every one!!!.....Its a good thing for them Im not rich. X0
@dynmohum I would love to see that!! Also with Maestro Andre Rieu. Jackie needs some "seasoning". By that I mean learning more Classical music and more stage presence. Look how Mirusia Louwerse blossomed into a full-fledged star under Rieu. He can do the same with Jackie but I think she will have to wait till she's 18 or so for that. Mirusia was 19 when she signed with Rieu.
@dieseldog00 Surely you must hope for better than that for Jackie. I would bet that most people have never heard of Mirusia Louwerse. And Andre Rieu is like the Liberace of the classical world. Somehow I can't imagine Jackie aspiring to that six years from now.
@Laundis You are absolutely right.. We love Jackie for who she is and she doesn't need to mimic and of the so called great when Jackie's voice and personality surpasses all the greats.. If I had a choice to see Jackie versus seeing Mirusia ..hands down I would chose to see Jackie perform.. and don't get me wrong ..Mirusia is very good but for my ears..Jackie is much better. Her voice has a purity that no grown up can achieve nor will ever achieve in their lifetime..
@taylortwostep17 if you watched her perform on AGT she told everyone that she IS musically educated.......she went to see someone perfrom an operatic song and told her parents she wanted to do that too. They enrolled her in classes a short time later. As for her 'mediocrity' if she continues with her coach she should be able to keep her range for years to come.
@tigerman782 Let's try to get the fact correct. She went to see the movie Phantom of the Opera. After that she started singing songs from it around the house. As she sounded good, her mother entered her in local singing contests. She also did have an on and off again time with a couple singing coaches. But her family was not satisfied with them. Much of her singing education comes from listening and copying Sarah Brightman.
I wish Mother Teresa was still with alive and had the pleaurse of little Jackie singing for her.I`m sure Mother Teresa is looking after Jackie.@OutOfMyMindAndWay heck i tear up on all her videos, your not alone.
what amazes me is how fast and furious her career has taken off it coulden't happen to a nicer child I can't get enough of her singing. you know she is someone when the President of the USA asks her to sing in DC christmas tree lighting. How many winners from AGT have done that?
People, people, people! You can not argue with an EX-SPERT like taylortwostep17 for he/she knows best. Can you imagine going to a cocktail party with such an EX-SPERT in attendance? EXCITING! INTERESTING!
@taylortwostep17 When I started to sing opera such as yourself, my mother who happen to be an expert on opera, would just powder my bottom to shut me up, to save my voice. Thanks to her next weekI am having a conscert at Joe's Pool Hall and in bad need of a backup are you interested? Jackie's voice will be just find a hundred years from now.
@littlejackrussell12 Hey buddy! that is a great comment , those words should place him in the crap heap! @taylor2step.... Take a few more steps and leave the scene, it would be appreciated!
@fjmor100 Thank you I thought I would get him/her to put up or shut up. lol. These know it alls should know that Jackie is doing ok without their help.
@tunanorth That does not lessen the legitimacy of his expertise. That would be like saying a doctor with Tourette's Syndrome is incapable of giving lectures because he might offend someone. Furthermore, I never said her voice isn't in pristine condition *now*. I am saying that it will be ruined in 5 or so years because what she is doing is damaging to her folds. Her otolaryngologist is there to make her voice last as long as possible under the stress she is being subjected to.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@tunanorth However as time takes its toll, and it will take a very exacting toll, no otolaryngologist will be able to prevent the bowing of her folds. She should not be singing music like this if she wants to be able to sing when she's 30. And if she says she doesn't care if she can sing 15 - 20 years from now, I highly doubt she understands the gravity of that statement.
@tunanorth As I said before, amplitude is not the only stressor on the voice. Having her mic'd removes only one of several threats to her voice. There are no "opera rules" in this conversation, these are "singer rules", to use your parlance. Regardless of the music she's doing, without a proper musical education (which starts singing from the ground up, not the top down as she is doing) she will do to her voice what Celine, Streisand, Andrews, Westerna, and Jenkins did to theirs
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@tunanorth That is to say, when she's in her thirties, if she even has a singing career, she won't be exercising her well touted 3.5 octave range because she won't have it anymore. She will likely be relegated to the mediocrity of once famous singer who has a secure and small hold on some unimportant corner of the music industry. She will likely have a mediocre range and likely perform mediocre pieces for a fanbase that doesn't know any better.
@taylortwostep17 Who are you to make such predictions? From what I see you have no qualifications whatever. And unless you are lying on your channel you are just barely old enough to drive. The fact that you can find a number of whacko critics espousing the same jibberish as you doesn't prove a thing other than you know how to use Google.
@Laundis HEY BUDDY, "WOW" YOU GUY ARE KNOCKING THE WRUNG'S OUT OF taylor TWO STEPS LADDER, I ONLY WISH I COULD USE WORDS LIKE YOU GUYS GREAT JOB".,ALONG WITH MY BUDDY @HOTRODDER....
@taylortwostep17 Your comments lack substance or facts, &you'll be remembered for what? And what will Jackie be rememered for? Perhaps her significant contributions to music, her humanatarian efforts, giving joy to millions, an ambassador for HSUS, helping others through tough times through her songs. She's a prodigy who gives all she has to please her audience. What does she want? Just some applause. Jackie is a caring, giving, person. And you? You've proven your ignorance here.
@taylortwostep17 Mediocrity? I think not. Jackie was the THE Top-Selling Classsical Artist of last year. In addition to being the overall Top-Selling Classical Artist, she also had the #1, #3, & #4 Top-Selling Classical Albums of the year (all Billboard #s). She's currently touring in Japan. As good as this amatuer preformance is, as a pro she's MUCH better now. Jackie will be remembered for her great accomplishments, but trolls like you will soon be forgotten.
@HotRodder2100 Thats telling the creep!!! that s a great comment buddy, I feel great about you trolling for the trolls, my temper, will get me in trouble! you kick the crap out of them with your words. buddy Frank
@taylortwostep17 People probably told Beverly Sills, Julie Andrews, Hayley Westenra, Deanna Durbin, Charlotte Church and many others who started singing as children, that their voices would be damaged too. Well, we all know how their careers turned out. So it must be that you just don't know what you're talking about.
Well, the clearest sign of defeat is when someone puts you on contact lock because they can't stand being told they're wrong and knowing it's true any longer.
*a noted otolaryngologist has examined Jackie & pronounced her vocal cords "pristine"
* TWEETS: @yvieburnett Yvie Burnett “@jackieevancho: My vocal chords are "pristine" according to Dr. Scott Kessler, NYC. * Yvie Burnett (AGT/BGT vocal coach &often at venues with JE) , said "of course they are! U sing healthily and properly!"
@taylortwostep17 I suppose your "expertise" trumps that of one of the top otolaryngologists in the country, in addition to Jackie's vocal coach, and her entire team of professionals that work with her? You have one inflated ego if you think that.
@HotRodder2100 It is widely accepted that she will ruin her voice by her twenties if she goes on like this. If she doesn't change very soon, she will never sing opera. Nor will her voice ever be as good as it could have been.
@taylortwostep17 I still don't see any scientific evidence. I have presented you with facts: 1) One of the top otolaryngologists in the country assessed Jackie's vocal cords, and found them to be in "pristine" condition, 2) basic physiological science indicates that the risk for damage to the tissues that make up the vocal cords is well below what would be considered "risk for injury", based on stress level, recuperation periods, and lack of any contributory risk factors.
@taylortwostep17 Despite all this evidence, you continue to ignore the facts and the science, and base your claims on "opinions" of "voice experts" and "opera bloggers", and other individuals that lack credentials to make any type of risk assessment.
@HotRodder2100 I mean if the vast majority of the classically educated music community all saying she's ruining her voice isn't enough to convince you, then you're either not educated enough to believe or understand what their saying, or you are living in denial of the obvious truth. I don't believe that someone who actually works with singers would say "cords" "sub-maximal" & single out amplitude as a sole stressor. So I have to assume that you are not who you claim to be.
Her voice has been described as pure and "bell-like." A bell sound tends to constellate the divine within the human soul. It signifies the "illumined mind" and "its note is the beautiful sound of eternity that is heard by the pure mind throughout creation..."
I believe it serves as a call to worship for all of humanity. And the fact that a young and innocent child is the messenger, magnifies the power and urgency of such a call...
my most viewed Video Jackie Evancho Blessings To You And all Your Fans Enjoy this Videos , My Other Channels Alcocer7-Weedlers2012-newslife2012-weedlers7 Thank you very much from( capitol Spray Painting San Antonio Texas)
To all of my fellow Jackie fans...let's ignore the few people who choose to carp about her vocal technique. The subject of her voice and style and appropriateness of song choice, has been beaten to death for the last year and half. And where are we today? Jackie just had another successful concert at Mandalay Bay...and I understand that her Japan concert is sold out. For those who enjoy arguing the points that have already been argued over and over...go ahead. Otherwise just ignore.
To your 2 TOP COMMENTS ON DAGGERSPINE107: I Jackie E a lot just like you, BUT YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO OFFEND AND TRASH (NOT THRASH) ANOTHER HUMAN BEING, NO MATTER WHAT.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HIS/HER CONDITIONS OF LIFE ARE OR WERE, AND YOU
DONT REALLY KNOW WHO HE/SHE IS AND WHAT HE'S BEEN THROUGH.
@amiwhatithink Your comment is nonsensical. I know nothing about you, nor do you know anything about me, other than I'm a Jackie fan. Some have attacked her, not only here, but in newspapers & a podcast. Shall we just let them attack rather than do what we can to stand up for her? E.g., I know what Tim Page's condition is (ref: review & WXPR podcast); it still does not give him the right to denigrate her or her parents. If attacked, one defends. JE can't do it, so her fans step up to the plate.
The damage this must be doing to her voice is terrifying. That and this imitation had no emotion whatsoever. She should be singing music written for an as of yet undeveloped voice, not tearing her vocal folds to shreds mimicking a piece that I wouldn't touch nor would any operatic voice until they were in grad school.
@yomamajama777 And in another four years the damage she will have most likely done will diminish her ability for the rest of her life. The opinions of someone who, I assume, has no classical training and wouldn't know how anything I might perform should sound are irrelevant. You are absolutely free to have your opinions, you don't even have to acknowledge that they are wrong, but don't presume to be right about that which you seemingly know nothing about.
@yomamajama777 I understand how you could think I'm jealous. If I criticize someone, it simply must be because I feel I'm lacking in some way that the other person is not. Or, perhaps it could be that I have an opinion and I'm choosing to express it. Given that I have no reason to want what she has, that I don't feel I am lacking, I'm going to go with the latter. I know my ability and I'm not going through the effort of demonstrating it to someone I don't know & don't care about.
@yomamajama777 I legitimately don't have the energy to record a video for someone I've never met of me performing "Ya Canta el Ave" or anything else currently in my repertoire. I'm attending university right now and don't have time to spend making a decent recording till the end of the month. Thank you for the offer though.
@yomamajama777 The likely-hood of being discovered on Youtube is is infinitesimally small. And I'm not being shy, just tired and overworked. I'm trying to get a degree that will guarantee me a job in a field that I've been in love with for a long time and I also know what role I want music to play in my life. And it isn't one of touring and performing for thousands of fans. It is one where I share my music with people because I want to, not because if I don't I won't make money.
I've said it before - but Jackie's voice is a gift from God. This may be a bridge too far - but her voice is life Christ residing in the Virgin Mary; God's gift in a pure vessel.
And so the search for the comment the top comments are directed to. A journey many could not complete but I shall defy the odds and attain immortality.
Holy hell.... I can picture her singing on Broadway! Phantom of the Opera anyone?

Millions of people are positively moved by her performances. And she uses the "Evancho Technique" of singing. So there you go. Nothing more to say.

The ultimate would be if Jackie Evancho toured with Ennio Moricone singing some of his greatest movie soundtracks.
dynmohum 1 month ago
@dynmohum I would love to see that!! Also with Maestro Andre Rieu. Jackie needs some "seasoning". By that I mean learning more Classical music and more stage presence. Look how Mirusia Louwerse blossomed into a full-fledged star under Rieu. He can do the same with Jackie but I think she will have to wait till she's 18 or so for that. Mirusia was 19 when she signed with Rieu.
dieseldog00 3 weeks ago
@dieseldog00 Surely you must hope for better than that for Jackie. I would bet that most people have never heard of Mirusia Louwerse. And Andre Rieu is like the Liberace of the classical world. Somehow I can't imagine Jackie aspiring to that six years from now.
Laundis 3 weeks ago

As for her 'mediocrity' if she continues with her coach she should be able to keep her range for years to come.
tigerman782 1 month ago
@tigerman782 Let's try to get the fact correct. She went to see the movie Phantom of the Opera. After that she started singing songs from it around the house. As she sounded good, her mother entered her in local singing contests. She also did have an on and off again time with a couple singing coaches. But her family was not satisfied with them. Much of her singing education comes from listening and copying Sarah Brightman.

Her otolaryngologist is there to make her voice last as long as possible under the stress she is being subjected to.
taylortwostep17 1 month ago

@tunanorth However as time takes its toll, and it will take a very exacting toll, no otolaryngologist will be able to prevent the bowing of her folds. She should not be singing music like this if she wants to be able to sing when she's 30. And if she says she doesn't care if she can sing 15 - 20 years from now, I highly doubt she understands the gravity of that statement.

@tunanorth As I said before, amplitude is not the only stressor on the voice. Having her mic'd removes only one of several threats to her voice. There are no "opera rules" in this conversation, these are "singer rules", to use your parlance. Regardless of the music she's doing, without a proper musical education (which starts singing from the ground up, not the top down as she is doing) she will do to her voice what Celine, Streisand, Andrews, Westerna, and Jenkins did to theirs
taylortwostep17 1 month ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
@tunanorth That is to say, when she's in her thirties, if she even has a singing career, she won't be exercising her well touted 3.5 octave range because she won't have it anymore. She will likely be relegated to the mediocrity of once famous singer who has a secure and small hold on some unimportant corner of the music industry. She will likely have a mediocre range and likely perform mediocre pieces for a fanbase that doesn't know any better.

@taylortwostep17 I suppose your "expertise" trumps that of one of the top otolaryngologists in the country, in addition to Jackie's vocal coach, and her entire team of professionals that work with her? You have one inflated ego if you think that.
