  • Is the Laser dangerous?

  • @MrDaniangel99 If you look at it directly yes. It can damage your eyes. Companies usually put a sticker next to the laser saying "Causion: Do not look directly into the laser, serious eye damage can occur"

  • no dare open ==

  • thats wat minesd does wen it turns on it makes a kinda grumbly noise

  • im having the same problem, laser not moving. anyone know how to fix this? im getting the no data message as well.

  • @Googlyeyes77 i have it to with my ps2 slim *laser not moving*

  • @030di3go030 i just bought a ps2 slim... works really well, no humming noise like the fat ps2. if you post a vid of it i might be able to help, i temporarily fixed my 8 year old fat ps2 a while ago...maybe i can help.

  • for some reason my laser stop working and i use my finger nail to poke dat the laser where it shines and then and get a deep breath and blow on it and starts work ing again (mys is a slim and use almost about 2 years i think is getting old)

  • This video is really old, the original poster will never read this, so anyone with same issue in the video. The answer is the small screw on the laser near the bottom of the video on top of the metal rod. It needs to be loosened using small flathead or t-10 or smaller. The ribbon cable isn't adjusting freely for alignment hence it is stuck. - Hope this helps someone.

  • The original poster is still around. :) This video was the result of a bad mod chip install.

  • get a new laser, dus it read dvds and ps1 games?

  • you could try to open the the lens and clean the inside lens. the same thing happened to me and then i did that and the CD started spinning but still didnt work, i am trying to see what the problem is to fix it. if i find the problem and i am able to fix it then i maybe putting a video on how to fix that problem with out spending any money.( be careful not to damage your lens because then you will be fucked)

    ribbon cables were loose

  • i have the same problem and dont know wnat to do

  • time to get a ps3

  • I work on PS2's all the time, so I no longer have this exact ps2. But now that I look at the clip, I would guess if the unit wasn't modified in any way, it would just be the laser. I can't tell for certain though.

  • Pretty god damn damaged

  • yup...i have the same problem as u...cuz none of my games can play...since the laser never moves up & down to read the data....

  • I have the same proplem

  • Can someone answer please, I have the same problem!

  • Its a gamecube!

  • i have same problem..

  • Well...I opened her up a little further. And someone attempted to do the romeo mod on this unit. I took the mod off and put the LA chip back directly to the board. No disc spins now. Laser moves though. I'm guessing the LA chip is shot.

  • Possiblity that the switch next to the spindle motor is not being touched by the laser lens do to the fact that the switch may be worn out?!

  • Possiblity that the switch next to the spindle motor is not being touched by the laser maybe the switch is worn?

  • Possbility that the switch that the laser has to touch next to the spindle motor is worn?!
