  • hey man i have a question, will the LCD screen in the Blackberry 8330 fit in a Blackberry 8530 Curve??

  • @RogueAgent87 The Screen in the 8330 will NOT fit the 8530 but it WILL fit the following models. Blackberry 8800, 8830, 8310, 8320 & 8300 Series. Hope this helps.

  • so any BB cover i see online will fit?

  • @laurenwalnut199 with the same model.

  • @laurenwalnut199 any BB case or skin?

  • thank you sir i am now goiing to put many stores out of business

  • All I want to do is remove the front bezel from the screen and clean behind it and possibly replace it since it has a small crack in the top of it. Do I have to do all of this to get it off?

  • i love you...i just pimped my bb 8D

  • @Elcyy08 Great Job and thanks for the post.

  • @Hi675445 dude that sucks for you. my blackberry works great.

  • Great video. Helped me to take it apart. Is it possible to replace the camera while it is apart like this? my camera just stopped working and always tells me to close other apps even though nothing is open. It appears to be pretty common on these

  • hello question where do I insert my sim card on a blackberry curve 8330 can someone please help thanks Martin

  • @colorwheel123 Unless it is a sim card phone like ATT or T-Mobile Etc then there will not be a sim card slot. If you have a GSM phone then it is behind the battery door.

  • WOW, thanks so much you guys, good karma points for you, I totally did it, never had a BBerry apart and w/ the video I completely disassembled mine plus another old one I had, swapped the LCD screens and am back in business. VERY COOL.

  • Very, VERY helpful...thanks

  • I need a Torx thingie to fix my phone but I can't call or text any of the people I know that have one because my phone is broken. Help

  • @TruculentBones You can purchase the Torx at DirectFix com. Part# XX1127

  • love ur videos man!

  • Thank you! My Blackberry had stopped responding to any keys - took it apart, cleaned it, and it's now working great! Excellent instructions.

  • Good Video.... but how do you put it back together?!?! lol

  • @LTGanGGreen21 It is a free video follow the video direction in reverse... LOL!

  • @pdaparts Haha, this comment made me laugh...

  • @pdaparts LMAO!!!

  • great idea rather then buying a new blackberry if th screen breaks just get a new screen for much cheaper

  • I want a blackberry like this. I have the 8530 through Sprint.

  • now would you like to put it back together, lol .

  • @babiicutiie3 We already did... lol

  • Thanks for the clear tutorial. I changed out a platinum case with a red one and it was a snap after watching your video.

  • Im taking mine apart now

  • thanks guys!!!

  • Hello. Is the Blackberry Curve 8320 the same as the 8330 when it comes to faceplates and lcd screens? In other words, would a product labeled 8320 fit the 8330 Blackberry? Thank You!

  • @sagittariusangel77 Yes the parts that Fit and 8320 are the same parts in a 8330.

  • mann thanks alot, my keyboard was fukt up an ur video help me fix, it was pressing two letter @ the same time. thanks again this vid is a TOP10 IN MY BOOK

  • Which Torx driver was used to take apart the four screws holding the keyboard? Are they T5 or T6 Torx Driver, Part Number part xx1127? I want to buy the part from you that does the job of taking keyboard off like you started at 1:28 into the video?

    Thanks

  • @you777777777777 The Curve 8300 uses the T5 but in the kit XX1127 you get both the T5 and T6 from DirectFix com

  • okay on your website where can i find the whole body for the blackberry?

  • @kakhamal Goto DirectFix com and look at part number BB-2299

  • thank you so much~!!!

  • Take out the battery before you remove the battery door. Nice. Is it possible to take off just the faceplates without voiding your warranty?

  • Yes, if you do anything that opens the unit other than a battery then it will void your warranty.

  • Where would I be able to find an LCD Bezel, not the actual LCD?

  • We carry them at DirectFix com

  • First time writing a comment on YouTube but your video warranted it...fixed my BB screen in about 12 mins...I used a T4 and a mini flat screwdriver (GENTLY) and it worked for me...THANKS!!!

  • hi, in order to open the housing do i need only the t5 tool or both (t5 & t6)?

    Thankx

  • We sell the T5 & T6 Torx in a set Part# XX1127 at DirectFix com

  • awesum video tanx...

  • You want to use a plastic prying tool when taking the phone apart. Not a metal screw driver, it will damage the housing on your phone.

  • Yes, the case opener tool is available at DirectFix(dot)com. Part# XX1521

  • I can't find the plastic screen part on your website. Do you have any? If you do please send a link.

  • We only carry the LCD and not the plastic front housing.

  • Awesome! Thank you!

  • Very easy. My blackberry fell and my screen cracked. I fixed it in like 3 min thanks to this video!

  • This tutorial was awesome! Thank you so much for posting it. I had a Torx screwdriver I got from a Radio-shack tool kit a long time ago. It fit perfectly! Also, you don't need the cover removing tool if you're really careful with a wide flat screwdriver. Just be cautious because you can make little marks in the sides of the plastic as you twist it to make it pop off (I did, oops)... but it wasn't anything I cant live with. I'm more happy my screen isn't filled with dust than small cosmetics. :)

  • Reading your review I think you just gave people a great reason to purchase the case opener tool instead of using a metal screw drive. Goto DirectFix(dot)com and the case tool is XX1521

  • If you need help, parts, tools or accessories please goto PDAparts(dot)com to order what you need. Also get 5% off your first first order on our webpage. Just use coupon code YOUTUBE at checkout for a limited time only.

  • I just got a used AT&T Blackberry Curve 8300 with dust in the screen and this video helped out a lot! I even took the time to clean every piece to get rid of all the dust it had been collecting. Thanks a lot! Your web page is bookmarked and I look forward to doing business with you.

  • Great video, thanks! I hate screen protectors and no longer need one now that I see how easy it is to replace the glass if it gets scratched.

  • My phone just fell and the trackball part fell off but it was raining too hard and too dark outside so I couldn't find it. I hope I can find it and just put it back. Your store says it's out of stock on the trackballs.

  • We will have them back in stock shortly.

  • Second phone I've taken apart for dust inside the device, thank you!

  • thanks for the video but what is the name of the screw driver you are using? I want to make sure I don't order the wrong one.

  • That is a Torx. You can get a Torx set at PDAparts(dot)com. Lookup part number XX1127

  • hey. i just got my blackberry 3 weeks ago and i cracked the screen. not the lcd but the front screen is cracked. is this video for that??

  • Yes this will help you to take apart the unit down to the shell. It sounds like you cracked the outside plastic I assume.

  • Hi! same as previous user, I only cracked the outside plastic, not de LCD. Have you some replacement for this? Thanks in advance. Edgar. CA, USA.

  • hey i just got the blackberry curve and i love it...but im the type of person that cant get anything on my phone like scratches etc... so i got a lttle dust in the inside screen of it...do u have any ideas on how to get rid of it?

  • The only way to get the dust out of the screen is open it and remove it which will void your warranty by the way.

  • Great Now Can You Show Me How To Put My Phone Together Again?!?

    :( LMAO...

  • Yea run the video backwards. LOL...

  • So we can do the same " sharpie mod" as the trackball on the keyboard keys now... nice video, thanks.

  • Should work.

  • has no one heard of a warranty? good video though for people who want a project

  • This is good for all people because when you drop and break it then the warranty DOES NOT cover the damage so now it is out of warranty...replacement parts are available at PDAparts(dot)com

  • Great video! thanks

  • This was perfect! Thanks!

  • To clean the screen a T5 torx driver is required. To remove the LED, a T6 torx driver is needed.

  • I just dropped my curve in the bathtub and the screen started blinking. I took it apart and dried everything. So far so good.

  • Thank you! My 8800 broke and I was able to isolate the problem to the sensor beneath the trackball. I had no idea what it was attached to and what parts I needed to fix it. The good news is that I know what I need. Bad news. It's a motherboard.

    Thanks again.

  • thanks. i wasnt sure if that bottom piece had to come off. one thing. i need to remove the battery then the battery door? how do i get the battery out w/o opening the battery door first. haha just bustin. thanks again

  • I've been looking for this info for a while to replace my cracked screen. Thanks so much!

  • The screen on my curve cracked the other day, but it is just the outer glass. I wanted to know how far I have to go to replace it? is it just the faceplate or all the way to the bezel? thanks.

  • Very easy. I didn't replace my screen though. I just used this video figure out how to clean the dust out from be behind the screen. Took just 5 minutes.

  • thanks that was good.

  • lol i have a curve...i wanna see him put it back together

  • Just watch it backwards...

  • Two thumbs up!!!!!

  • Great guide! I finally cleaned my screen from dust! Instead of the "case opener tool" use two credit cards stacked together, opened it easily!

  • AWESOME TIP!

That saved me a bunch of time. Thanks!

  • no thanks seems risky!

  • LOL.....I agree.

  • it really wasn't that hard. I took the screen off to clean out all the dust that was building up behind it.

  • awesome video...didnt realize it was actually pretty simple to disassemble the 8300. when they have nice OEM bodyplates, i'll be replacing it with the help of this video. again, very nice job.

  • For 5% off your first order on our webpage pdaparts dot com use coupon code YOUTUBE at checkout for a limited time only.

  • Thanks, just starting to get scratches on the screen. Will soon be time to order replacement.......
