  • @ MrRalf012 - and most of my gay friends also think these movies are hilarious... we're not offended.

  • @berniec56 You guys are all awesome and im so glad i grew up around many gays and that i didnt turn out to be some ignorant bigot. Ignorance is a terrible thing for the mind.

  • @ MrRalf012 - continuing, "Best in Show" is one of my favorite movies... If you want to see Guest at work with the gays, check out his earlier and also very funny movie "Waiting for Guffman" where Guest himself portrays a gay (Corky St Clair) who does a terrible job of concealing his sexual orientation from the small town he lives in... think Michelle Bachman's husband Marcus.

  • @ MrRalf012 - continuing, I was not offended in any way and thought that Guest's caricature of the gays was incredibly funny and well done.. it wasn't done in a vicious manner but in rather humorous way that managed to portray them as a loving and very close couple (and one of them was a terrible flirt).

  • @ MrRalf012 - I agree with you totally. It's a comedy and a caricature and caricatures are based on taking certain elements of a personality and stretching them to the extreme... in a very funny way.

As I've stated before, I'm gay but a pretty normal and masculine guy as are almost all of my friends and guys that I know. And there are those folks in our community who are bit more, shall we say, flamboyant and they are the ones that the stereotypes are based on.

  • I don't see an argument for this being how all gay men act. I think they make it clear in the film that it's not, considering that his partner keeps trying to steer the conversation into safer waters. SOME gay men do this, and some don't. People are all different, go figure.

  • John Michael Higgins stole the show for me in this film. He was genius. lol.

  • "Steve, right?"

    "Stephan."

    lol

  • How quinky dinks!

  • "You know something, someone's gonna hit you." HaHa. That line always cracked me up. Those two are hilarious together. Such a great film.

  • ten hut motherf*cker! HAHAHAHA almost fell off the chair

  • its satire, clearly...

  • That queens line! Quality.

  • Thanks...............

Fabulous Improve. I adore them. I had HEARD that Christopher Guest is actually British Nobility. But, who knows and who cares...................?

  • I wish there were two black guys next to them. They could have chimed in, "Ace of spades motha fuckas!"

  • Steve right?

    Steffan, yeah.

    hahaha

  • The actor who played Jack (the straight guy) is Fred Keating. Talented fellow.

  • This was deleted? I clearly remember seeing it at some point...

  • This is bar none, the funniest scene in the movie! I wonder why it was deleted.... these two are great, especially since much of the movie is improved.

  • @ravenclaw67 It's actually a pretty lame scene, which is why it was deleted.

  • @davenielsen78 I beg to differ sir. I suspect it was probably deleted for political correctness (could have been seen as too gay insensitive), or to balance out the movie. Not to be dominated by these two characters.

  • Glad somebody has the guts to portray obnoxious and flipped out and prissy and fussy the way it really is out in the real world: homosexual or heterosexual doesn't matter....folks who subject people, especially strangers, to this kind of "entertainment" by insecure creeps deserve to be portrayed ("parodied" is not the right word) in a truthful way. What is most terrific about all of Christopher Guest's creations is the acting ability of his casts: subject don't matter...

  • @thomasmoredamian It's a movie. Chill.

  • The Stonewall riot was june 1969.

  • Hey where's the smooch??

  • funny beyond words- "Pair of queens- we win- lets play again"

  • "You know something? Someone's gonna hit you!"

    Gahahahahaha! Great show.

  • quel coinky-dink!

  • yeah im looking for the harlan pepper deleted scenes.

  • lmao. "Marv?" "no, it's Mary" i love it!

This scene is a little shorter than the one on the dvd i have.

There are alot of awesome deleted scenes from this movie. One of the best is when Harlan Pepper (Christopher Guest) shows everyone his very large beachball collection. He has a shed filled with hundreds of them and each one from a different year..... they all look exactly the same......

  • Aw, they cut the kiss out! That's the funniest part!

  • I'm glad you enjoyed the clip... however, I am gay and I can assure you the parody portrayed in the movie is NOT how most gay men act.

We do not start inappropriate conversations nor do we make it a point to tell you that we're gay. You may have run across across a few gays who did so but its wrong for you make aspersions about an entire group of people based on your own limited experience.

To do that is wrong. Its simple and ugly prejudice and bigotry. Am I wrong?

  • I apologize. As an African-American, I do understand the ugliness of prejudice and would not want to demonstrate that in any way. This was not an attack on gay men, I simply agreed with the illustration because of the encounters I've had personally. Most of the gay men I have met do act like these characters. These comical stereotypes do have some truth to them and that's what makes it funny and believable. I know it's exaggerated, but that's what comedy does. I would never say All gays do this.

  • I have a cousin who is gay and he does not act like this. That being said, my best friend's wife's cousin is also gay and he does act like this. Who cares? There are straight people who say a lot of inappropriate things. Look at anything the last President said in the past 8 years.

  • Nice, Boudo, very nice but look here...

I've got a father that's both gay & african american, he acts like this.

My teacher is gay, he doesn't act like this.

My coach's wife's brother- gay- acts like this

Sister's husband's boss- black- acts like this

Friend's nephew gay & black & proud- acts like an asshole

I think that trumps your hand sucker

  • oh yeah? well what about that time I caught you in your room naked with that bowl of jello?!?! And don't give me that "I was hot and hungry" routine.

  • What do you mean "caught me".....

I told you to come by for a big helping of my "special" jello recipie you can't seem to get enough of.

  • Don't get saucy with me Bernaisse!!!

  • Most of the gay men you have met you probably don't know are gay--most people don't act like this.

  • Bingo! KGotschall - that pretty much sums it up. There are a few "flamboyant" gays on which the stereotypes are based but most, and I repeat MOST gay people.... you wouldn't know they were gay unless they told you. But God bless our flamboyant friends anyway; if it weren't for them rioting at Stonewall in 1968, most of us would probably still be cowering in the closet.

  • @berniec56...God Bless You! You got that right, Sister! It was those fierce Marys who started the ball rolling and gave us our rights (as they are!)

  • @berniec56 Yeah, I worked at an italian restaurant for a few years (is it normal for like a solid third of restaurant staff to be gay or lesbian?) with several gay men. Only one was flamboyant (and subsequently dated and broke up with all the others lol). Hilarious portrayal, butcher shop makes me laugh every time!

  • I wish gay guys WERE like this, the world would be a way more hilarious place.

  • If you give me a few drinks and put me amongst straight people when I am kind of pissed off.... especially if they are people I don't like, this is exactly how I act. I need about 4 glasses of wine first. Otherwise I am completely normal and you wouldn't know I was gay. The nelly needs contempt and liquor to come out.

  • I am a straight female and I can be exactly like this most anytime-I don't need liquor anymore but a little doesn't hurt. Most people are so uptight and they piss me off. So I have a blast saying whatever's on my mind. "Gay" people are so much more relaxed-gotta hand it to ya.Keep tellin' it like it is!

  • @berniec56 Oh, yeah, you're wrong.

  • @berniec56 It's a movie, meant to poke fun at stereotypes, not promote them.... Try to take it in the manner it was intended: lighthearted fun! The movie is filled with stereotypes being parodied. Don't single one out and take offense. Laugh at it and enjoy, dude!

  • @berniec56 Oh, stop it! LOL. Lighten up. Plus: Yes, you are wrong. Gay guy here - And I don't talk or sound like the gay portrayals in the clip: But, Jesus! MOST of the gay guys I've known have. Sure, it's a 'slice of life' which does not occur daily and with every gay man: But, come on, if you have been in gay life AT ALL, it's just friggin true LOL

  • @berniec56 Very true. Of course , no type parodyed in the movie is like teh real people act. (humm ... at least I don't think so ... maybe the ___) ;)

  • @berniec56 do you make anything that sounds remotely sexual into a joke? Because of the gay dudes I know that's a huge trend and it has always bothered me. Maybe you're older, but it seems like they're making up for lost time. What with all the hetero jokes about women in high school I think they're trying to catch up.

  • @berniec56 You're gay, right? So how would you know? You're doing EXACTLY the same as the guy you scold with self-righteousness, you're making aspersions based on your limited experience. About EVERY gay guy I got to meet behaved with me , a straight guy, the way the man with the censored comment described.

  • @berniec56 i dont think they were trying to portray the average gay, they were trying to play the extremely eccentric flamboyant gay, in a very outgoing / flirty mood. I enjoyed it, and i didnt get offended. Then again, im not gay. But ive never been offended at how they portray straight people in movies either. Either way, i hope you enjoyed the movie as a whole!

  • @jtsctv5 Quite sad you base your reality on MOVIES. And comedies at that - where things are exaggerated to get a laugh.

    Public school, right?

  • @jtsctv5

I think that you might take a look at where you hang out - I'm 52, straight and live in Seattle, where there is a substantial gay community - and I have NEVER seen gay men act like this! Even on the one occasion that I went with a woman to a very gay friendly dance club in the wee hours, Ive never seen this sort of behavior.

When you say that "truly accurate on how most of gay men act" you are either lying, or talking out your shoot!

  • @Murphy98112 You're lying your ass off. You probably wish what you said is true, but you know you're full of shit.

  • @davenielsen78

OK Brainiac - So what reason do I have to lie? I am a 52 year old straight male who has worked a library for 12 years, & has lived in Seattle for 20 years & my closest grocery is on Capitol Hill, the biggest Alt/Lifestyle neighborhood in Seattle: I am telling you that I have never seen this kind of come-on. Granted I am not Fabio, & I don't hang out in bathrooms w/Larry Craig, but the point is if you are straight & not trying to pick up guys, no one will come onto you. Truth.

  • @WildeRover98033 How could I know why you would lie? My own experience tells me that you are lying, as the gays I've met have fit the stereotype shown here. Btw, if you can accuse itsctv5 of lying, I can say the same to you.

  • @davenielsen78

OK, so you are a fundamentalist Christian who sits in study church groups where the "pastor" and others tell you that this is how gay men act. My guess is that those who "preach" this are in the closet & want to deflect suspicion from themselves by making you think that they are straight. I may be wrong, but I can't see how else you would think that this represents how gay men act in mixed company. I see that you have a video "Errors of Dawkins and Atheism" YOU have an agenda!

  • @WildeRover98033 No, I'm not a fundamentalist Christian - or a Christian of any kind. The fews gays I've had the misfortune to meet have been like this. As for the Dawkins video, I didn't favorite it for the reason you think. I don't have an agenda, but clearly you do. Look how worked up you get - especially for someone who claims to be straight.

  • @davenielsen78

  • @Murphy98112 That comment was so gourmet, you had to post it twice.

  • @davenielsen78

I think that you must hang out in places where straight men do not. Frankly, I just think that you are a flat out liar.

  • @Murphy98112 Wrong on both counts, but continue to think that if it helps you out.

  • @davenielsen78

I always feel good when I speak the truth and fight lies. Have a nice day.

  • @Murphy98112 You must be feeling like shit after having so thoroughly lied your ass off then. Well done.

  • @davenielsen78

Are you on drugs? Anyone who has been outside some poe-dunk nowhere knows that this is NOT how homosexuals act, at least in Seattle! I work with literally HUNDREDS in my job & live IN a city with a very active homosexual population and I am straight - go figure? It must not be contagious! Give me a list of all the cities (like over 100,000) that you have spent any amount of time in (not just tucked in a motel room to hide from evil) & list your experiences similar to this!

  • @jtsctv5 they gotta find the other gay fish some how lol

  • Higgins is brilliant here and on Arrested Development. Well Michael, I did not find there tom foolery amusing.

  • lamoooo

  • Ten-hut, mother fucker!

  • Two queens beat two jacks any day.

  • "Ya know something, someones gonna hit you." hahahahah!!!!!

    Oh I love this movie!

  • It was a good movie, but honestly this was one of the best jokes I've heard throughout the entire thing. Why would they cut that?

"We're a pair of Queens. We win." XP

  • agreed. great set up and delivery. too bad

  • the best part of this scene is that its all improve they just come out with this priceless humor ....god this cast is none other than GENIUS... love it

  • OMG!!! they left the best part out of this scene, though!!

right after it, Scott kisses Stefan and then does the FUNNIEST little face. durn!

  • I know, is America so uptight about a little man on man action that they had to leave this on the cutting room floor?

  • Christopher Guest and the incredible cast of these "mockumentaries" are just amazing.

  • "We're a pair of queens, we win" LMAO. This is too funny. They should have left this in.

  • Ten-Hut Mutherf*&@! LOLOLOLOL

  • f-ing genius actors. Period.

  • This is THE BEST! They should have left it in!

  • I LOVE how uncomfortable the guy looks...these guys are too funny!

  • how the hell could they have deleted this?

  • I know! It's so funny!

  • Ha. Classic. I love this Movie...but wonder why they deleted this scene?

    <3

  • This WAS in the movie ?

  • Why oh why would they delete this scene!!! This is GOLD! I love Higgins.

  • "someone's gonna hit you"

  • oh stop!
