Brian McKnight is not the most successful R&B singer ever but he's definitely the most talented. God in the form of an R&B singer is what he is and he can play any instrument.
I was stationed in Okinawa Japan when this was released.... loved the song then and now...krazy video...lmao we all have been there at one point in our lives....tks for posting this one......
I love this album. To me, "I Remember YOu" is McKnight's BEST ALBUM. Pure MUSIC from beginning to end- and nowhere on this album does he seem to be trying to appeal to the Hip Hop community, which I find to be his biggest drawback- even though he's my favorite Male Vocalist.
It's almost a jazz CD. Many of the tracks are more smooth jazz, than r&b.
I know he's done a few more hip-hop collaboration variations of some of his songs, but I think he always kept his music within his (own) age range.
I don't think using bits of slang constitutes catering to the Hip Hop community. It comes off as sincere to me, maybe he, himself likes elements of hip hop. It's possible.
I could care less about him using slang And I'm not talking about this song... I love this song. In fact I love this WHOLE CD because it is PURE RnB music without any attempts to appeal to a younger, hip hop crowd- what with a lot of his songs having rappers on them. That was part of the reason why, for example, I didn't like some of his more recent albums because there were too many of what I call Rhythm and Rap songs. So-called RnB music is nothing BUT that.
I agree with you on today's 'so called" r&b, being more rhythm and rap (I like that:')), but I meant his music overall. He could like the elements of rap.
over the years his music has changed alot almost like he was conforming to societies new rap singing hip hop r&b instead of what he usually does and his album sales are not what they should be. Brian mcknight should stick to this kind of music. it suits him better.
yeah,he even has wayman tisdale (former nba player , now jazz guitarist)on the album . that's why i always was a b mcknight fan from his first album back in '93 ,great vocals with smooth jazz arrangements
IMO better than R. Kelly's "Down Low." That's not a diss to R. Kelly either, but McKnight's version is more relaxing. Mcknight is the true male king of R&B of the 90s. How many dudes can sing as good as him?
I kno and I was actually able to mimic his riffs throughout this whole song well except the falsetto part I'm still workin on it but anyway I'm hooked to this song and I'm only 14. Gota love the 90's
The white man is so handsome! Gosh, not as the song or Brian's voice, though!

They just don't make music like this anymore. Artists today don't have a quarter the talent that Brian McKnight has.

This one came out just before R. Kelly's Down Low song, and of course Kelly's outshined his, but I like this one better.

I feel like the only reason R. Kelly's was big was because Ron Isley was in the video. I like this song waaaaay more than R. Kelly's

This must be the wackest song he has ever recorded. I'm glad he decided to leave this kind of stuff to Montell Jordan.
