  • Your title is misleading. These should be called "assisted" horizontal pull ups. "Real" horizontal pull ups are called "front lever" pull ups.The same principles are applied to this movement except your body most be completely straight and perpendicular to the bar.

    i.e. "reverse bench press"

You're only cheating yourself and your athletes if you don't move onto more challenging front lever exercises.

  • I've been doing these and love em. My coaches say to use a bit wider grip than normal though

  • vibin that tool playin in the background :D

  • great for circuit cardio

more back work tho with feet on the floor, if the bar is near ur throat more mid back work,

bar near the top gut more lat work

  • It's like a beginner pull up.

  • great exercise. I really like'em

  • WHAT are you doing?

  • I'm trying to counteract the pressing, or over-pressing, some athletes do. They tend to focus so much on bench press and their variations that they neglect the pull. I learned this exercise from Mike Boyle and I've had great results with my lacrosse athletes.

  • With a wider grip i guess that would be a great rear deltoid exercise.

  • I'd be a variation of the cable row to the neck workin the rear delts.
