I gaffed it in the gill slot closest to the jawbone and the gaff hook came out of the jaw when I pulled it up for a pic.
When I removed the lure from the shark it swam off fine..there was no blood coming out of the gills when I released it and I am sure he made it just fine.
u cant gaff a shark in the gills man..that later KILLED the shark if u rly released it alive. its illegal to gaff any fish if ur not goin to keep it for that reason...
You using that little hook thing when bringing him in, did that kill it? Just wondering, I'm not one of those idiots going around youtube telling you not to do it, Just wondering :P
If so, why keep something so little, was it upon a clients' request or what ;p

The hook thing is called a gaff and I just used it to bring the shark in for a picture and then we released the shark and he was fine.
