  • The U.S always makes everything about themselves LOL

  • Solution, triple and quadruple the back up power electrical systems. With out cooling water, IT'S A DISASTER. With out pumps, the electricity to run them, it will melt down. Lets add another layer of redundancy.

The GE engineer is feeling a little vindicated. He did the right thing, should be proud. It takes guts to do what he did. His worst nightmare may have not been realized in the 35 yrs, but as they were designed in the 70's, I'm sure they were much more vulnerable with out the mods.

  • It really is NO joke you morons-very high probability that California and entire West Coast of the US is already DYING-If Japan can't contain the reactions and the cores melt=constant radiation in the Jet Stream to West Coast for 500,000 yrs=half life of uranium NP237. Nobody on the US West Coast will survive a YEAR of uncontained radiation delivered via the Jet stream, it could be equal to 2500 chest x-rays per hour continuously throughout the year..

  • @libertydogfight the radiation will dissipate before it hits the west coast, it won't affect us

  • @RShomiexyz1 I hope you are right-but Chernoble it's estimated killed 1 million over 10 years in increased cancer-I was in Germany then-nearly all European cows produced radioactive milk-it always gets into our food, it is already showing up in Japanese foods.

  • @RShomiexyz1 its already here just so you know, we have rain water that is showing 150X the normal level, we are showing that vegetation exposed to this is absorbing the radiation, our background air level is 5 times normal not as much of a risk but still a noted increase, and is still hitting Washington state.

  • 0:01 skip the adds

  • Man doesn't have the responsibility or morality to have nuclear anything. Our world would be much better without nuclear warheads or nuclear power plants. We need more wind and solar power as well as generators ran off river power not dam power.

  • another complete line of bullshit......nothing can withstand mother natures fury. Don't worry California, you'll get your test soon enough

  • I have a Honda portable generator in my garage. And after that big snow storm this winter, that thing kept my entire house warm. Why doesn't Japan use their own technology to save it.

  • obama answers to a higher elite power, he doesnt give a shit about any of us, just like the rest of them

  • Do you think our government would help be for its too late . If some one helps be for its too late there is no money in saving lives unless you sell pharmaceuticals drugs yaa that will cost yaa .

  • The states that are partially within the New Madrid " Severe Destruction Zone" are Indiana,Illinois,Iowa,Missouri,Arkansas,Mississippi,Tennessee,Kentucky, Ohio. There are nine nuclear plants within or very close to the Severe Destruction Zone of the New Madrid. Will they be able to shut down safely when the earthquake occurs, this year or next?

  • ahahaha dog chase cat's car hehehe

  • immelt: "hey barry, i got a shitload a cash and wanna build a shitload of nukes

bungles: yeah fine whateva playa... hmmm i'm thinkin kansas

  • Why not tap into the hydrogen to run backup genorators if the power fails?... hydrogen is a great fuel for combustion engines which could turn genorators... GE needs some more imagination to work with!

  • what i don't get is why the fuck can the reactor itself not generate enough electricity to power it's own cooling systems, wtf?

  • @canisdormit When the earthquake hit, the reactor scrammed, or shut itself down, as designed. It is not producing enough heat to make the steam required to spin the giant turbines. Therefore, no electricity. Normally, the diesel generators would kick on, which the plant has many many giant diesels, but they were wiped out by the tsunami.

  • @Madjacker08 so then it's a design flaw? If the reactor itself is capable of running, why shut it down at all?

You know, when this happened I thought, "Well, nuclear plants are safe, etc etc etc" but the longer this goes on the more I'm realizing that these things look like they were designed by infants. And that lack of forethought is going to be the death of the nuclear industry it looks like now, but the longer this goes the more right that seems.

  • what do we have, like 3? we need 1000 more but not in Earthquake zones.. Learn idiots
