I don't see what everyone's tripping on. You got left behind ONCE in this video. Not every single time! You were a good rider, and if your instructor has told you to maintain the two-point before and after you jump, I'm sure she knows what she is talking about, or else she wouldn't be an instructor would she? I think you did an excellent job. It's a shame you had to stop riding.

i've never owned a horse either and only go to lessons every week and occasional comps, but that is no excuse for how i or anyone else rides....basically its a lame excuse :) you're riding isn't that bad and i don't know how long you've been riding so i won't critisize :)

when u land after jumping try not to slam agenst the crest and stay in 2-point thought it and if u fell that ur gonna slam aginst tilt ur heels up before u landand strengenth ur caf.
I miss horse riding :'/ had to put our horse down. So, after that i just started to cry everytime i just saw a horse.. Well, i think im going to try to get back on the horseback.. Im mostly training my dog, so imma try to find a place to ride again. Miss the old times :(

You do know people who jump that height do Australian 3 star shows and in America the advanced horse shows... Wow.. so if you're 12 years old.. and jump that height... then why aren't you competing at that level? I don't see you at any of those horse shows :s
how would someone get a hold of tire shreds? Also, you look really good at some spots. At others though it looks like your really whompimg him in the back when you bounce up and down. keep it up! (the good part, not the bouncing, lol)

@PonyLova777 Thanks for the comment :) And nope, I didn't quit because of any horse issue. I stopped at the end of 2008 to save up money for University, which I'm currently doing this year. I won't be getting back into riding until I finished studying in the next few years though. Thanks again for the comment :)

u dont have to just give up horses cuz u dont think your going anywhere! u look fine, you just needed to sit up some and you would be great! :) and only having weekly lessons isnt an excuse for anything, thats all i have ever had, i do extra chores and stuff so i can go to bigger shows and it works out fine! so dont complain about that!
UR still jumping tiny and badly! Ur seat is too forward sit up...i ride and am jumping bout 3ft6 and believe me...that height you csnt be in that kinda position!
i think your jumping is really good better than mine atm ive lost complete confidence in jumping and need advice to help start jumping again. bringing me down not being able to jump used to love it so much :(

I have a few tips, open your shoulders more and keep your chest up and don't lean so much forward on the flat paces between jumps, this all helps put your horse on his hind end and decreases the chance of him falling.
Hey, you're a good rider. Here's a tip, though: keep your chest up right before the jump and it makes it so much easier for your horse to jump. I saw you just a few times kind of slouch before the jump but feel confident and sit up, even in 2 point, right before the jump. It will be better! Good job! I think you are beautiful!
I could be wrong, but I would assume she was a hunter when she rode; it seems to me they generally have a more forward seat when they ride...(I just started riding hunters for my university's eq team and I'm having a hard time adjusting)
Thanks for the comment, and nope, My instructor use to make me go light into the saddle/ go into two point and all whenever I had a jumping lesson. When I do flatwork(which I don't normally make videos of... but think I should, to show people) I sit normally in the saddle :) Thanks again for the comment.

Im a qualified riding instructor and i specify in showjumping, if your riding instructor is telling you to constantly sit two pointed, she is wrong. u need to sit up before the jumps and inbetween, because if you get more of a differcult horse to jump, they may refuse buck ect..you will come straight off because your constantly slouching forward..you have a really bad persition at the moment BUT u have improved since your last video just sit up!

wow! i followed a link from an old video and you've made some major improvments! well done! :) riding is all about learning! even the pros need someone to tell them if something is going wrong, keep up the good work :) but this isnt nasty really just advice, try sitting up a little more, it avoids nasty accidents and gives the horse time to get their front legs up if they get too close, always better to be behind than infront! but still :) major improvments!

I'm in TWO POINT because my INSTRUCTOR tells me to be! That is WHAT you do in lessons! They tell you what to do and you LISTEN to them so you can learn. If she prefers me to be in two point, then you have no right to say for me to sit down, because i'd rather listen someone QUALIFIED than someone who is a random stranger and no doubt never even SAT on a horse.
You're quite an angry person. Being in two point that much isn't great for the horse, especially going over jumps. It'll be harder for you to stay on. You improved a hell of a lot since your last video though.
@Orbit340 My instruction is the one who tells me to sit in the two point.... I hope you know that EVERY time i rode, I had an instructor with me, as I've only ever been to a riding school and took riding lessons.
you are a good horse back rider but my advice is you sit up a little bit, especially in between jumps because I don't see much of a difference between sitting up and 2 pointing. That would help you a lot

She isn't catching her horse in the mouth, she's got a solid leg, she's not thumping she's riding in a forward position at the canter (if you know anything about jumping you should know this, I do dressage and I know this). And the horses are not showing any signs of discomfort or pain.

I don't have time or money to go. Next year I'll be at University, and when not studying I'll be working. Also, my riding shcool where I rode at has moved to a bigger place that is further away, plus the prices has gone up. So it's sort of impossible at the moment :(

I miss horse riding :'/ had to put our horse down. So, after that i just started to cry everytime i just saw a horse.. Well, i think im going to try to get back on the horseback.. Im mostly training my dog, so imma try to find a place to ride again. Miss the old times :(

You do know people who jump that height do Australian 3 star shows and in America the advanced horse shows... @PonyLova777 Thanks for the comment :) And nope, I didn't quit because of any horse issue. I stopped at the end of 2008 to save up money for University, which I'm currently doing this year. I won't be getting back into riding until I finished studying in the next few years though. Thanks again for the comment :)

u dont have to just give up horses cuz u dont think your going anywhere! u look fine, you just needed to sit up some and you would be great! :) and only having weekly lessons isnt an excuse for anything, thats all i have ever had, i do extra chores and stuff so i can go to bigger shows and it works out fine! so dont complain about that!

@MsShowjumperx - My instructor does that (makes me stay in 2 pt) in my lessons too. It's mainly for when your jumping smaller (under 3ftish) and still kind of learning. It strengthens your legs and gets your position to improve until you get to a point to where you have mastered getting up every time your about to jump. Please don't say such unproductive comments.

I have a few tips, open your shoulders more and keep your chest up and don't lean so much forward on the flat paces between jumps, this all helps put your horse on his hind end and decreases the chance of him falling.

Hey, you're a good rider. Here's a tip, though: keep your chest up right before the jump and it makes it so much easier for your horse to jump. I saw you just a few times kind of slouch before the jump but feel confident and sit up, even in 2 point, right before the jump. It will be better! Good job! I think you are beautiful!

I could be wrong, but I would assume she was a hunter when she rode; it seems to me they generally have a more forward seat when they ride...(I just started riding hunters for my university's eq team and I'm having a hard time adjusting)

Thanks for the comment, and nope, My instructor use to make me go light into the saddle/ go into two point and all whenever I had a jumping lesson. When I do flatwork(which I don't normally make videos of... but think I should, to show people) I sit normally in the saddle :) Thanks again for the comment.

Wow, you're really quite good! Gutzy jumper :) If it's not too personal, may I ask what made you quit? Hope you didn't have a fall. I came off when I was learning, and it took me two years to go near them again (it was a horrific fall) but i'm glad I did :)

Im a qualified riding instructor and i specify in showjumping, if your riding instructor is telling you to constantly sit two pointed, she is wrong. u need to sit up before the jumps and inbetween, because if you get more of a differcult horse to jump, they may refuse buck ect..you will come straight off because your constantly slouching forward..you have a really bad persition at the moment BUT u have improved since your last video just sit up!

wow! i followed a link from an old video and you've made some major improvments! well done! :) riding is all about learning! even the pros need someone to tell them if something is going wrong, keep up the good work :) but this isnt nasty really just advice, try sitting up a little more, it avoids nasty accidents and gives the horse time to get their front legs up if they get too close, always better to be behind than infront! but still :) major improvments!

I'm in TWO POINT because my INSTRUCTOR tells me to be! That is WHAT you do in lessons! They tell you what to do and you LISTEN to them so you can learn. If she prefers me to be in two point, then you have no right to say for me to sit down, because i'd rather listen someone QUALIFIED than someone who is a random stranger and no doubt never even SAT on a horse.

you are a good horse back rider but my advice is you sit up a little bit, especially in between jumps because I don't see much of a difference between sitting up and 2 pointing. That would help you a lot

I don't see why you guys are bashing her? She isn't catching her horse in the mouth, she's got a solid leg, she's not thumping she's riding in a forward position at the canter (if you know anything about jumping you should know this, I do dressage and I know this). And the horses are not showing any signs of discomfort or pain.
And there is nothing to suggest she's bragging.
For someone with what, an hour of ride time every seven days she's quite a good rider :-S she should be proud of it.

She is not bouncing up n do you have nothing else to do and i suggest you go and sort yourself some lessons because you will obvs need them if you think that is NOT adopting the horses movement and in showjumpin you dont sit deep trnin crners n stuff only to the fence you sit deep to urge the horse frwrds but trnin crners n long sides n stuff you can stay off the saddle as much as you want so that the horse can move more freely trust me i know.

I don't have time or money to go. Next year I'll be at University, and when not studying I'll be working. Also, my riding shcool where I rode at has moved to a bigger place that is further away, plus the prices has gone up. So it's sort of impossible at the moment :(
