  • Wow is an understatement. such an incredible voice.

  • THIS SONG SUCKS BUT GIRL YOU cAN sing

  • Thumbs Up For The Song On Mr Bean's Holiday!!

  • I can not say something positive, but one thing I can say one thing"WOW" :O

  • That was the best singing i have ever heard from anybody honestly, i still am in denial about that singing actually being her lol

  • I WANA KNOW THE 386 PEOPLE WHO DOWNED THIS VIDEO

  • She an alien ...

  • OH... MY.. GOD... She made me cry, and I'm a huge angry dude. Absolutely beautiful

  • This is an aria about a young daughter who begs her father to approve her marriage or she'll abscond to Florence and throw herself in the Arno River. I'm not sure a young ten-year-old has enough life experience required to evoke such emotion. If she's just mouthing words without understanding the feeling, it's not art but a lie.

  • @aristopus Did you know that "Gianni Schicchi" the opera this aria comes from is a comic opera? I doubt it.

That aside, you have no way of knowing what Jackie Evancho" understands or doesn't understand. As far as conveying emotion, I'd say she reaches a tremendous number of people emotionally not just in this song but in all that she sings.

    And that is my opinion.

  • @aristopus - One doesn't need to understand the words to either evoke feeling or feel it. The music ITSELF evokes & provokes feeling (even without understanding the words). If that wasn't the case no one in country would even bother listening to Italian opera EVER - since few in this country understand Italian.

  • HEY ASSHOLE'S!!!!! This young lady has a great voice, and yes it's not perfect but FUCK QUIT BITCHING!!!! Her voice is still beautiful, and if my daughter could sing like that, I would beg her to sing me a song each day. Human's are so fuckin retarded, Why can't you just be happy for her. FUCKIN PUSSIES!!!

  • Wow...

  • A beautiful creation!

  • ma come faaaaaaa?

  • I saw the audition on TV at the time, and Jackie still amazes me. If angles do exist, they'd look and sound like her!

  • thumps up if your watching in 2012

  • Esa niña esta hermosa! Y me encanta como llora!

  • omg!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @holywells We all have our musical tastes, this extremely talented girl just happens to not be included in mine. I was expressing an opinion, just as everybody else is on this video. There's no denying that she has a gift. Cheers.

  • A-do-ra-bley.

  • "she's a child..and she has the voice of a well-seasoned star!".....i'm sorry, have any of you REALLY heard a "well-seasoned star"?!?!?!?!?!?! what she's doing to herself will ruin her by the age of 21.

  • @lck0fcolor I'm sorry, but do you know that she is now world famous for her voice? Do you know that she was THE Top-Selling Classsical Artist of last year. In addition to being the overall Top-Selling Classical Artist, she also had the #1, #3, & #4 Top-Selling Classical Albums of the year (all Billboard #s). She's currently touring in Japan. As good as this amatuer preformance is, as a pro she's MUCH better now. What's sad is that you failed to do your homework on Jackie Evancho.

  • @HotRodder2100 what's sad is that the average human being finds her to be a true classical artist.

  • Comment removed

  • @lck0fcolor What's sad is that the opera snobs are jealous and resentful of this incredibly talented young lady. They see her immense talent and they are threatened by it. She transcends traditional opera singing with her classical crossover style, and is therefore attacked by the very group that should be supporting her to promote their genre. Also, she sings below maximum capacity, and gets adequate recovery between session, so she is NOT at risk of vocal cord damage!

  • @HotRodder2100 HAHAHA. There are so many hysterical things about your response. 1) You are are underhandedly calling me an opera snob, which is fine. Go ahead. It's not like I went to a performing arts high school, got a degree in music, or am working towards any kind of professional career. So I clearly have no idea what I'm talking about. 2) You are implying that I am jealous of Jackie Evancho. Honestly, that's so funny that I can't even respond.

  • @lck0fcolor So you are jealous because you are unsuccessful in your own career, so you come on here and put down the most talented prodigy that we have ever witnessed to boost your ego. What a pathetic person you are. Having a "degree in music" does not qualify you to assess her singing potential, or her risk for vocal cord damage.

  • @HotRodder2100 And what are your qualifications, kind sir?

  • @lck0fcolor Jackie's accomplishments speak for themselves.

  • @HotRodder2100 They also speak for the idiocy of the average human. Listen to Maria Callas, Joyce DiDonato, Frederica von Stade, Diana Damrau, etc and be enlightened.

  • @lck0fcolor You go listen to them if you prefer them over Jackie Evancho.

  • @HotRodder2100 I have, will, and do. Good lord!

  • @lck0fcolor Great! Hope never to hear from you again!

  • @lck0fcolor Your comment regarding "average human" tells me that you are a snob, believing that you are above the average person with your "music degree". You self proclaimed experts are sickening.

  • @HotRodder2100 I never said that I was an expert, nor that I am above the average person.

  • @lck0fcolor Are you aware that she is THE Top-Selling Classsical Artist of last year? In addition to being the overall Top-Selling Classical Artist, she also had the #1, #3, & #4 Top-Selling Classical Albums of the year (all Billboard #s). She's currently touring in Japan and plays at sold-out concerts internationally.

  • @HotRodder2100 Are you aware that that has nothing to do with the fact that she's "talented"? It has everything to do with the fact that most people don't know what real classical singing is supposed to sound like. I'm not saying that she can't sing. I'm just saying that she's overrated.

  • @lck0fcolor Now I'm laughing hysterically! Do you know how idiotic you sound? She is not only popular amongst the masses, but she has been hailed by many PROFESSIONALS in the music industry as one of the most gifted prodigies we have ever seen. Check out her Wiki site and you will see what I mean. She's not overrated one bit. Only people who are jealous and resentful would make such a comment.

  • @lck0fcolor I never said that you were an "opera snob". I said that it is sad that "the opera snobs" are jealous and resentful. My question to you is this "Why are you equating yourself to an opera snob when I clearly did not call you one?

  • awsome soooooooooooooooooooo awsome

  • Where'n da fuck did she ever get a voice like that?! If you only heard a recording and saw no images of the singer, you'd swear to God she was a 60-year-old long-time opera singer! The Michael Jackson of opera - where does she go from here with a native talent far above anything natural!

  • its amazing

  • Comment removed

  • she 's wonderful

  • simply amazing how such a powerful voice is being belted out of such a small package WOW!!!

  • O--O

  • wowsers

  • @HotRodder2100 and you need to learn to not assume things. because she is on TV, and can sing, does not make her a prodigy. Coming from one who is classically trained, I was simply saying that she moves her head too much. it causes crimping in your airway and irregular air flow passing over the vocal chords. plus its a pain to watch.

  • @mathewanderson13 "Classical music training" does not make you qualified to assess the risk of tissue damage! Are you a physiologist or otolaryngologist? If not, your "opinions" regarding risk of vocal cord damage are meaningless. Jackie is being cared for by the best in the business, so I would suggest that you self proclaimed experts keep your opinions to yourself.

  • @HotRodder2100At it again having a go at everyone who has a different opinion ,the best as you say in the buisness are getting a hevty lump sum for having anything to do with her .there is a lot of money marketing this girl .Of course they will let her sing and carry on .Why are you so obssesive over this young girl singer ,seems strange you act like an obsessive fan ,and spend hours scouring for negative comments ,sad how old are you ..

  • @daisychain1231 What is "sad" are people who come on here and make baseless assumptions about Jackie Evancho or her family without taking into account the evidence that prove otherwise. I'm not obsessive, just a fan like many others that is willing to stand up to individuals who would unfairly criticize or otherwise make inappropriate comments without evidence. One such example is your insinuation that people who work with Jackie are fabricating things to profit from her.

  • @HotRodder2100 You ARE obsessive ,anyone would think you are her guardian ,or relative .Its strange that you show show such an interest in a 11 year old ,putting her on a pedestal as if she is super human being ,Shes just little girl who has good voice ,but she can make herself sound like a grown woman somehow ,its not natural .And people are worried that the genius as you call her will not keep her voice for ever .There are no singing prodigys ,they exits in other things .SHE IS JUST A CHILD

  • @daisychain1231 That's correct, she is just a child, and people like you that continue to attack her and her family are pathetic. She IS a child singing prodigy, and your denial of that highlights your jealousy toward this talented girl. YOU are the one who is obsessed with trying to make her and her family look bad to satisfy your own jealousy and resentment. That is NOT NATURAL.

  • @HotRodder2100 Im not jelous at all ,I would hate to be a singer in the public eye ,I like others have an opinion ,and we see it strange that a 52 yer old shows such an interest on this girl attacking anyone who dares to say she is not a prodigy ,watching her every move on you tube ,.There is no such thing as a singing prodigy ,do some research ,prodigys are found in maths and sciences ,the accademics .from the brain finction ,Someone who has good vocal chords nd can sing is not .

  • @daisychain1231 Definition of "prodigy" from Wikipedia: "A prodigy is someone who, at an early age, masters one or more skills far beyond his or her level of maturity. One criterion for classifying prodigies is: a prodigy is a child, typically younger than 18 years old, who is performing at the level of a highly trained adult in a very demanding field of endeavor." "Prodigy" can apply to any area.

  • @daisychain1231 Dr. Clark Rosen, director of the UPMC Voice Center, said it is "not her lungs or vocal chords that make the difference" “What puts this all together to make this amazing voice is Jackie’s brain,” he said. “Jackie’s brain coordinates the lungs, the throat, the vocal chords and puts it all together into an amazing voice.”

  • @daisychain1231 “She is a prodigy; they break the rules by definition,” wrote music critic Andrew Duckenbrod in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette after seeing Jackie perform to a sold-out crowd in her hometown in October, 2011. “[Her] voice mesmerizes.”

  • @HotRodder2100 that you self proclaimed experts keep your opinions to yourself.>>>

This is a Youtude forum and expressing opinions is precisely what it's for.

  • @aristopus what you said doesn't make sense... you (whoever) keep your opinions to yourself

because.... a Youtude forum and expressing opinions is precisely what it's for.

  • @aristopus Actually, I was not the one claiming to be an expert. I was quoting the "EXPERTS" who have worked with Jackie, and have first-hand knowledge of her vocal cords, her abilities, etc. Your problem is that you can't deal with the TRUTH. Just as you have the right to express an opinion, I have the right to express mine, and if people are going to throw around inaccurate, derogatory remarks about Jackie and her family, then they better be prepared to deal with the consequences.

  • @mathewanderson13 Perhaps if you would view some of her more recent performances, and the interviews of her done by 20/20, you would discover why "HotRodder2100", and many others, regard her as a prodigy. Especially noteworthy is the PBS Great Performances concert where she was accompanied by David Foster. She is older now, has richer vocal tones, on a worldwide tour, and commands a stage presence that is usually reserved for more experienced artists. Thanks for your opinion and good day to you.

  • it so cool

  • Sad to see your comment:

No, no..., I disagree. If she have faith in her talent, keep training, enjoy as much and as long as she can. Than she will even getting better, yet for long time to come.

And for you Jacky, your singing talent have my support for as long as I live. You are a genuent entertainer from the heart. You inspire many people around the globe, and for people like me may live longer by hearing your angelic voice.

  • This is sad to see because this child will never be able to have career past what she is doing here because it will destroy her voice.

  • Comment removed

  • @yourfupid I totally agree ,but you cant argue with the obsessed fans on here they will attack you for saying anything critical about her singing ,so watch out you will get a reply from one of them soon like I did .

  • Comment removed

  • She looks bait like a younger version of Sarah Michelle Gellar!

  • I LIKE IT YU VOICE!!

  • A charming young lady with a pretty voice. But how can the poster call Jackie an opera singer when she's never performed in a single opera in her life?

  • @goldenthroat86 Unfortunately Ms Evancho cannot control what others call her. PBS insists she 13, 20/20 called her super human. She herself has stated often that she is not an opera singer. Choosing to sing an aria does not make you an opera singer. But it does seem to cause just about anybody who knows the slightest bit about opera to attack you.

Many other non opera singers have recorded arias. Sarah Brightman, Sissel, Charlotte Church, Aretha Franklin, et al.

  • @Laundis Sarah Brightman is an opera singer. Or rather all of her music is classical/operatic as far as her voice goes.

  • @CrystalEyesxx I'm not sure why you are telling me this. But I don't agree with you. Sarah Brightman is not an opera singer. She has sung a few arias but she has never appeared in a opera. She has been in many shows. She was married to Andrew Llyod Webber and starred in most of his musicals. Renee Flemming and Anna Netrebko are opera singers but Sarah is not.

  • @Laundis I don't see why you insist that she is not an opera singer. One does not need to make a career of singing primarily in operas to be an opera singer. I suppose it just depends how loosely or not you define "opera". Nearly everything she does is operatic in nature, with a new spin on it. I suppose if your definition of an "opera singer" is someone who sings and perfoms solely in operas for a career, then yeah- I'd suppose she isn't an opera singer.

  • @CrystalEyesxx I'm not simply trying to win here... but there is quite a distinction between someone to sings an occasional aria and someone whose whole career is oriented towards opera. There are languages to become fluent in (Italian,French,German notably), they must learn their roles and the roles of others in an opera, they must take drama lessons, they must be prepared to sing for several hours, everyday for weeks when an opera is staged for the public.

  • @CrystalEyesxx Cont. The techniques and methods of projecting ones voice are different from any other vocal form. So no, Sarah does not fit this mold. She would tell so herself. It is not a criticism... it is a fact.

Simply singing an aria does not make one an opera singer. Jackie is not an opera singer and she too would happily tell you so.

  • @Laundis I understand what you're saying, which is essentially what I pointed out. While I do agree there is a big difference between someone who literally devotes their life and career to singing performing Opera, and Sarah Brightman- I don't necessarily think that does not make her an Opera singer either. Sarah Brightman literally is her own brand of opera singer, her music is defined as popera (opera/pop), so she is technically an opera singer, just not in the traditional sense you speak of.

  • @CrystalEyesxx Opera singer is called an "opera singer" because they sing in operas. This is why they are called opera singers. It's a profession not style of singing. Opera is sub-genre of classical vocal music. "popera" or classical crossover is not opera, it's a very different genre; each genre has its merits and appeals to different people. Sarah Brightman could not sing in opera, and vice-versa, most opera singers couldn't sing many of the songs Sarah Brightman sings well.

  • @CrystalEyesxx (cont) when you expand the definition you make the term ambiguous, ambiguity leads to confusion. Why do it? Every genre has its merits, why confuse them? Opera is sub-genre of classical music, classical crossover/popera is not, the requirements are different. One of the main features of operatic singing is the ability of the singers' to project the sound so that it is heard over the orchestra without amplification; this isn't needed or done in crossover.

  • das ist doch kein gesang xD so ein scheiß !!!!!

  • what is this song called.???

  • @1JBfanBessy It's name is "O Mio Babbino Caro". It is an aria from an opera written by the Italian composer Puccini. If you google the name you can get the lyrics.

  • Happy New Year to all the Fans Of miss jackie Evancho blessings from The All mighty

  • to sing freely is nothing like preforming in an opera...the best voices in the world are in opera...it's verry hard to sing like her...to touch the notes perfectly...and at her age..wow :)

  • She's very good. I just feel like she should have chosen something less boring/more challenging. Something like Da Tempeste by Handel or O Zittre Nicht by Mozart.

  • @MrDajx

Maybe the reason the she cannot perform more challenging pieces is to protect

her voice! She is a light lyrical mezzo-soprano. Search Youtube for Handel's "Ombra Mai Fu".

    Enjoy!

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • for me is a fake....100%

  • @musicalloverful

It is a free country (U.S.A) and we can have a civil debate. Challenging someones opinion attacking Jackie and her family is not bullying.

If Jackie was your daughter, I would also do the same thing. Especially if it is a

    defenseless 11 year old kid.

    So get over it !!!

Be a Man !!! or Woman!!!

    Be Strong !!!

  • sry aber Caroline Costa ist 10000 mal BESSSERRRR des isch eine eingebildete schlampe xD

  • @Girlsstyler die Welt nicht mit Ihnen überein, und sie ist nicht eingebildet.

  • W O W . *_*

  • That ain't lip syncing honey, that's pure talent.

  • oh! i saw this on the news n i gotta say she has an amazing voice!! :D

  • Beautiful voice.........

  • what ever happens Jackie is pure CLASS,,lets pray to god nothing happens to her voice cos that would be a tragedy for someone who just loves pleasing other people,,if there is a god nothing will happen,,she will jus get better and better if that is possible...

  • Comment removed

  • @daisychain1231

Charlotte Church did not ruin her voice !!!

Charlotte still sings pop and Broadway tunes. she went through a rebellious period

such as chain smoking, drinking, partying and had kids.

  • Comment removed

  • @daisychain1231

Roger Love Professional Vocal coach stated on MSNBC Alex Witt's show

that Jackie performs safely using her "Head Voice" and does not "belt"

which vritually puts no strain on the vocal chord. Google the video as

evidence. Jackie has been performing for 3 1./2 years with no strain or injury

on record. Jackie perforrms "Bel Canto Style", like Rene Flerming (Opera Star)

and she's been singing for 40 years (started at 11 yrs old)

Who is this top class singer ????

  • @yomamajama777 Stop all attacking me on here I have faith in what Ive been told and entitled to my opinion Who knows if she will have the same voice at 18 .And by the way stop attacking anyone who sends a critical comment .and also Im not disclosing anyones name on you tube as you not suppose to privacy ect ok

  • @daisychain1231 If the girl keeps singing and practicing then YES she will still have the same voice...even better its going to get better i wanted to clear that up

  • @yomamajama777 wow ,I seem to have fans on here who think shes some GOD ,FOR god sake leave people have their say .I have faith in what I have been told so stop pumping all this knowledge down my neck ,I see you and the gang are attacking any you tuber who has concern for her voice , ,Will she have the same appeal to the world when shes 20 ,or will she have the same voice at 20 who knows ,

  • @daisychain1231 Name the "professional vocal coaches" you are refering to.

  • @HotRodder210 I do not disclose anyones name on here ,for privacy reasons ok ,THIS IS YOU TUBE .

  • @daisychain1231 That's what I expected. You bring up some fictitious "professionals" that you have been talking to, to try to back up your baseless claim. I've had this discussion with numerous "vocal coaches" and "voice experts" on Jackie's sites for over a year now, and NOT one of them has been able to provide a shred of evidence for their claims of vocal cord damage. Show me some scientific evidence of your claim, and not just baseless "opinions" of self proclaimed experts.

  • @bruceh7211 But this is an operatic piece which should adds an element of risk for a 10 year old people who sing operatic pieces will agree with me its a risk for a tiny 10 year old to stretch the vocal cords to such a big operatic piece like this .

  • @bruceh7211 She is sttill singing a song from a very big opera ,most vocal coaches i know and are proffesionals tell me she could damage her voice from singing songs too mature for her voice and age .What her teachers are doing with her is their choice ,but there is a lot of money involved with her career now ,all the PROFFESSIONALS I know say its a risk to encourage a 1o year old child to sing opreatic pieces .I have a lot to do with school choirs and music and vocal coaches

  • @daisychain1231 Jackie's voice will be fine and I heard Jackie took a few lessons before but they told her to hold off and she will take formal training when she is 13 or 14, she uses her head voice. I just read that somewhere awhile ago.

  • @daisychain1231 Yes, as HotRodder requested, who are the "professionals" and the "top class" singer? Unless you can provide specific references, your amature analysis is without substance. You may have "a lot to do" with music & vocal coaches; however, you're not qualified to make recommendations in her singing technique. You're making a judgement based on inadequate knowledge. She's under the best of care, both medically and vocally.

  • @bruceh7211 And you are not qualified to attack people who leave comments regarding her voice ,are you a top class judge ,singer or vocal coach ,you are only going by what you have heard or read ,ICAME ON THIS SITE TO LISTEN TO HER VOICE AND ALL I SEE IS YOU JUMPING ON EVERY NEGATIVE COMMENT ,FED UP WITH IT ,are you an obssesed fan of hers ,?

  • @musicalloverful And you are not qualified to make predictions about her vocal health. Are you a physiologist or otolaryngologist? Being a judge, singer, or vocal coach does not make you an expert in the area of physiology of tissue damage. Provide some scientific evidence of your claims before posting baseless opinions.

  • @daisychain1231 She's not singing traditional "operatic" style. She's singing classical crossover style, with sub-maximal stress on her vocal cords. Vocal cord damage only occurs with maximal stress on the cords, in combination with inadequate recovery between sessions, and usually in combination with contributory risk factors such as smoking. Jackie sings below her maximum capacity, and gets adequate recovery between sessions, so is therefore NOT at risk of vocal cord damage!

  • @FUNKTHEYEARS I think she has an awsome talent ,she inspires my daughter to sing arias ,The only worry is she is taking a big risk singing opera at such a young age my daughters vocal coach is so against kids this young taking such a risk on the vocal cords that are still growing ,She is an opera singer herself and is highly qualified ,she carefully moniters my 12 year olds voice and is gradually building her vocal ability ,charlotte church ruined her voice singing opera so young .

  • what ever jackie does in the future,,good luck to her,,thank you for the experience...

  • im sorry, her voice sounds good, but the technique she learned to sing that way, will no doubt kill her vocal chords. there are safe ways to learn opera and unsafe ways to learn it. you might be going "How the hell would i know that?" well cuz i am an opera singer and my teacher even told me her voice is bs!

  • @akatsukigrl1990 "cuz" you're an "opera singer," and your teacher told you her voice is "bs.". True professionals do not denegrate others. Do you perform in operas? Your comment is without substance and quite juvenile.

  • @akatsukigrl1990

Jackie remains in her head voice the majority of the time which is the safest voice for her, so as not to put too much pressure on her lungs & not to push too much air through her chords. Jackie does not "belt", this virtually puts no strain on vocal chords.

Yvie Burnett is Jackie;s coach and a Fmr Opera Singer & Jackie has been performing Operatic Arias for 3 1./2 with no major vocal problems. Bev Sills (Famous Opera Singer) sang at age 4 & had a long career.

  • Poor manipulated, used and driven Girl

  • @mauriciomille This "poor, manipulated, used & driven girl" is doing what she loves: living her dream & giving joy to millions. It's her dream, not her parents, who said if she wanted to quit singing tomorrow that would be fine. Sure she's driven; she's an achiever who gives her all at each performance and continues to improve exponentially. One tremendous young talent who's become a great role model for our younger generation. Perhaps do some research before posting such a sophomoric comment.

  • @bruceh7211 I didn't mean about her parents, I meant about America's got talent and BGT

  • Responder a este vídeo... What they do is control their " careers " .... If it would be a real career may it last at least 30 years

  • @mauriciomille

I look to another American prodigy Beverly Sill who started at age 4 and had a long productive career as a Great Opera performer.

Are you a vocalist or music teacher?

  • unbeliVable not unbelibable

  • WTFFFFFFFFF THAT'S AMAZING, for the love of god

  • That was great

  • Amazing voice, my Lord God bless my swwet child....

  • wow

  • whats up with the clouds at her feet.

  • Too bad she will outgrow that voice.

  • Comment removed

  • @peppzi57 No, not "too bad" at all. As Jackie matures, her voice will continue to become richer and fuller. As amazing as her voice was during AGT, it's improved dramatically since then, as shown in her recent appearances. We ain't seen nothin' yet!

This is absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing this. It's truly a wonderful thing! God has blessed this girl with a magnificent gift. I hope she keeps going with it. She can really go somewhere in life with a voice like that.

  • @Silversnapdragon She went.

  • @Eugenedvoynik

  • there is a jakie evancho doll at toys r us laredo texas :D

  • She sounds great... may not sound so great in a few years if she keeps breathing that way, but I'm happy for her current success. That's what matters, right? Short term. Not the long term. Got it. I'm not going to bash on her expression or choice of song or the fact that she darkens her sound way too much for any singer under the age of at least twenty-three, but the one thing that is obvious is her lack of proper breath support. That can damage anyone's voice real quick.

  • @ShelbyKlawonn

Jackie remains in her head voice the majority of the time which is the safest voice for her, so as not to put too much pressure on her lungs and not to push too much air through her chords. Other words Jackie does not "belt" which virtually puts no strain on

the vocal chord. Bel Canto Style be around for 400 years and many young great Opera singers had long productive careers. Jackie is coach by a Yvie Burnett (Former Opera Singer). No vocal problems for 4 years.

  • she's mad cocky though -_-
