What always annoyed me about these games was the bloody club playing the PA too long. The best renditions of Walk On are the supporters singing, but for some unknown reason at times Celtic kept the bloody PA playing over the top of the supporters. If they had cut this off half way through it would have been even more impressive.

You're 100% correct. Liverpool were the first club to start singing popular songs on the terraces during the 60s. Gerry Marsden from Liverpool had a hit with this song & Liverpool fans adopted it as their anthem. It has nothing to do with Glasgow at all.
