I think wushu is now an offical olympic event now. if it's true, i finally got something to watch besides judo, tae kwon do, karate, and amatur boxing. i'm getting a little tire of mainstream martial arts. don't get me wrong i've done karate and tae kwon do for about 4yrs now, but i want something different. I'm actually looking for wushu schools in San Diego since I'll be living there soon.
People who diss martial arts should challenge a real practicioner and not somebody who's just learning.
I'm not generally fond of wushu displays, but there's no denying there is so much to admire in this video.

THe mongols did not rule china in the ancient time. In the ancient time were the Warring States where 7 major states were constantly at war for supremacy. It became the Qin Dynasty when the first emperor of China united all the states to form China. Mongolians simply became the Chinese and ruled over a dynasty of time.

No one whole race is attributed for achieving ANY of those things you listed. A human (who happened to be British) invented the steam engine, a human (who happened to be German) invented a combustion engine (ect.) had nothing to do with their race or cultural background. The individual just happened to be someone who was driven enough to work hard, like anyone else.

I know about this guy Jing De. He is pretty good with Wushu and has won several championships in China and U.S. Check his video by typing He Jing De and you will find out. I heard he is currently taking film in Hong Kong.

Pretty good, but Jet Li was still better in his day. Back when he was champion, his form was a lot smoother; both of them are pretty sloppy compared to him. Although I suppose I'm being a little unfair; the Beijing Kung Fu institute isn't as abusive with the training as it was in Li's day.

Funny; in an interview Li talked about this. How modern wu shu champs, thanks to modern sports science, are faster and more powerful but their form is sloppier compared to earlier eras. Man though I didn't realize it was THAT sloppy. Compared to earlier eras I mean. Compared to the rest of us these people are ballet dancers.

What part do you refer to? They exaggerate the movements but make no mistake - they can easily turn it and do combat style instead. Combat Kung Fu is not pretty like this but that doesn't mean these two don't know how to do that.
The part where they circle around each other is called Baguazhang and is a very efficient type of Kung Fu

I think wushu is now an offical olympic event now. if it's true, i finally got something to watch besides judo, tae kwon do, karate, and amatur boxing. i'm getting a little tire of mainstream martial arts. don't get me wrong i've done karate and tae kwon do for about 4yrs now, but i want something different. I'm actually looking for wushu schools in San Diego since I'll be living there soon.
People who diss martial arts should challenge a real practicioner and not somebody who's just learning.
