Check their resumes. Obama was a legislator longer than Hillary has been. He has more experience. He also has more experience than Edwards. If you count being a legistlator state level, he has. This doesn't say Obama has a lot experience, but he has more.
Yes please check their resumes as you will see Senator Clinton has 30+ years in service to this country. Not to even mention First Lady. So please don't coun Obama's years on the street working as a civil rights figure count the years in actual politics and gov't service.
Yes, like Obama has been a legislator longer than Hillary, if you count the serving in the state he was in. Hillary was married to Bill Clinton, which made her the wife of a govenor and president. As far as her accomplishments, you have SCHIP, and a failed attempted at health care reform. Hillary supporters think that being married to someone in office equals political experience running government. Anyhow, if you like experience, you should of voted for Richardson.
Hillary has been an independent political figure for so much longer than Obama; in the 70s she worked with the US Congress to pass legislation for children+the rural poor; she served as a Legal Counsel to the House Judiciary Cmmttee in her early TWENTIES. As time went on she chaired the Legal Services Corporation under President Carter, chaired many boards, served on others, reformed education and health care in Ark, visited other nations as Children's Defense Fund chair, was a successful lawyer
This bitch is the most evil democrat since LBJ. Obama is too inexperienced. Either draft Gore or vote McCain or Guilani. Only year since Eisenhower years I'd support a republican over democrat.
it will be interesting to see how the south will vote on this. I say this because the people of the south love democrates and hate republicans, but they don't wish to see blacks or women in power.
First let it be known that I am a republican. I gotta say that if the Democratic party has any sense left in them at all they will choose Obama as their candidate because he's just smarter. Hilary wouldnt know what to do as president of the United States. Im almost begining to think she is just running to try to prove that she could do it. This is not a safe road for America to walk. Be smart, dont vote Hilary
Hillary for President!! I'm not afraid to see change..I want change. I listen to every candidate with an open heart and ear. I'm not judging her for her gender.
do you really want another clinton what she going to say i did not have sex with that man??????????? wait a minute no man would want to bill hasnt taken the panty hamster for a ride in a loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg time
In light of this definition, I find myself disappointed in Sen. Clinton's announcement speech because it fails to add a real sense of rhetorical discourse to a situation that clearly needs and invites it: the 2008 presidential campaign in which she is running as a frontrunner candidate.
As a student specializing in issues of rhetoric and politics, I find myself particularly interested in the rhetorical usefulness of the modern political speech. In an article titled "The Rhetorical Situation," Lloyd Bitzer lays out the following criterion for
"rhetorical discourse":
"...discourse is rhetorical insofar as it functions (or seeks to function) as a fitting response to a situation which needs and invites it."
Hillary...you are so cool.Don`t let chauvinists and conservatives discourage you.I believe you can do what you say you can do.I hope America will listen to you.
Hillary is a great woman, as of now she has my vote! I don't agree with everything she has put on the table, but I don't think anyone has chosen a candidate they completely agree with. I'm so sick of people trying to argue with me because of my decision to stick with Hillary! I understand that we all have the right to an opinion, but I just wish I could vote for who I want rather than for who everyone else want's me to!
Ok so you can't stand her voice...then what the hell are you doing viewing the video?? I'll vote for Hillary I'm tired of stupid republicans sending more and more soldiers and i'm tired of their stupid promised, I'll go for hillary because she's the SHIT!
I am just a little concerned that she keeps shaking her head "no" when she is speaking about things she wants us to think she supports. By the way, I'm registered as an Independent.
I cant stand her!! I don't like hearing her annoying voice. I am voting for Guiliani and I urge everyone else to do so. Please vote Republican! Do the right thing!!
Oh my gosh. You are so wrong. Hilary may not be everyone's ideal woman, but she's got more brains than Guiliani. I don't think she would have put the central office for homeland security in the World Trade Center right after that truck bombing happened. Guiliani did. Wow, what foresight he had. No wonder he was seen running all over the desaster sight after 911. Where else could he be. Control Central was under the rubble and dead bodies. What Would Hilary have done? Hum.
I agree. Hilary can't do anything except "start a conversation". She fights for women's rights, but gave up hers when she didn't walk out on that cheating husband of hers. Do we really want him as "First Man"?
I cant stand her!!! I don't like hearing her annoying voice. I am voting for Guiliani and I urge everyone else to do so. Please vote Republican. Do the right thing!
she is a dumb cunt and so am i..hm wow i really value your opinion. You know you are exactly the stereotype of conservatives, ignorant and fearful of change. you wanna know something, this country is already fucked up, because of conservatives like you. a dumb cunt, good to know people are so open minded and loving in this country.
I think that Senator Clinton is a competent legislator but it seems to me that in order to fix this country's porblems we need a president that is more willing to set aside partisan politics. Ms. Clinton does not want to do that. The way she said "six years of bush" its like she's trying to play off the Republicans as the problem.
Hillary has done so much for the country, I've read her book and she impresses and inspires me. She is a competent, driven, and innovative woman and I would be honored to have her as my president. I sincerley hope that Americans can put their predjudices aside and think about whats best for America. Hillary is best.
Although Obama is a charismatic man, he is not ready to be president. When he speaks he even seems unsure of himself. Clinton is a good choice, and I love her for running, but honestly most Americans are like qqiq and won't vote for a woman president. If Hillary were a man all the dems would be behind her, but sexism is too prevalent in America for there to be a female president.
i can't believe people are even considering electing her into office. I am a staunch supporter of Bill Clinton and his administration. The only thing these two have in common are the rings around their fingers and their last name. PLEASE! I beg the american electorate to consider the ramifications of electing her to office. And I also ask you all to consider the ramifications of having a woman in office.
What exactly are the ramifications of having a woman in office? If you dislike her politics that is fine, but don't try to tell me that you think she is detrimental to the nation because she lacks a phallus. That is ignorant, offensive, and ridiculous.
lol...I'm afraid that there are more characteristics of femininity than lacking a phallus :P...that should give you a hint as to possible ramifications. And think of how other countries, namely the patriarchal Middle Eastern countries that were trying to establish relations with, will view a female COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF.
And how can you let a woman be the COMMANDER of a military with an all-male combatant population?
Egypt,China,Japan,Thailand, Ethiopia,Russia, UK, Denmark, Tonga, Swaziland, Sweden, Greece, Jordan, Cambodia, New Zealand, Bhutan, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Sri Lanka, India, Portugal, Norway, Yugoslavia, Lithuania, Pakistan, Bangladesh, France, and Poland have all had female heads of state either as queen, president, prime minister, or empresses. You are ignorant, sexist, and I pity anyone who comes into contact with you in person.
yes...I am sexist...only inasmuch as nature is. :P I am not, however, ignorant. These are real concerns that the American electorate needs to consider. Kudos to the countries you named. We are not, however, those countries. We are the most powerful country in world. Our HOS presides not only over us, but over much of the world and its affairs. I
t should also be mentioned that the HOS of many of the aforementioned countries do not serve as the commander-in-chief(s) of their respective militaries. There is a reason why, from top to bottom, there are no female commanders in our military . This is a legitimate consideration that transcends the scope of my seemingly narrow-minded sexism.
firstly id rather hillary over barrack hussein anyday!do you know anything about obama, his policies, background, education, beliefs do you know where hes come from what he stands for blablabla,or is it purely the race issue an uncle tom for the ethnics, your bothered about a woman president well quite frankly a muslim leader worries me.
ok YOU are ignorant...Barack Obama is a Christian man. He stands for all the good things Hillary stands for and more. And, considering his unifying aura as opposed to Hillary's polarizing effect, he actually has the ability to achieve the things hes talking about. And why are you using the word hussein?...IGNORANCE
"And, of course, every individual Canadaian does have health care" Well so do the Cubans! they can say every man, woman, and child has coverage..Right!
Just google "therealcuba" check out thier socialized medicine! yep, that is just what we need!
She is a household name, that working class people can relate to. If she is nominated, there will be recording setting numbers of voters going out for the election. People that normally don't vote, because they feel that they aren't represented by any of the candidates.
Hilary Clinton will be the next candidate of the people. The sort of candidate like Kennedy was, except she will make it to office.
Pray to whoever you pray to, VOTE, the times are changing.
Her plan for national health care will take more money out of the pockets of the working class, because the cost will be paid through higher taxes and higher insurance premiums. I dont think that is a way to relate, except for those already on welfare.
Her plan for national health care is a reasonable way of giving health care to people who can't afford it. Something's gotta change from the current system, and national health care would be a positive reform.
They can provide national health care with the millions they waste on pork barrel projects and foreign aid. They dont need to take more from the working class.
At least let politicians like Hillary try the national heath care policy, whether it comes from wasted billions already a part of the nation's revenue and/or whether it comes from more money given in the form of taxes.
BTW, most tax money doesn't even come from the working class. Some does, yes, but it's small when compared to other sources.
Socialized Medicine is wrong.. a single payer systems USSR style.. like Cuba has.. A complete and utter failure.. long lines, 6 month waits, poor quality.. even Canadians come to the USA for health care.. do your homework skippy!
But Canadians also have longer lifespans than Americans. And, of course, every individual Canadaian does have health care, as opposed to millions of Americans who can't afford health care. I would take long lines for SOME kinda of health care instead of having none whatsoever.
Are you kidding? She has an excellent record as a senator. After the disaster of Bush, the only reason she might lose is sexism. You're totally underestimating her and the demand for change in the country. Plus, all the negative shit anyone could ever dig up has been thrown at her already. I wouldn't underestimate her if I were you.
I agree, there needs to be change, but she isnt it. Voters who didnt support her husband's 2 terms wont support her, she carries too much baggage. She voted for the war in Iraq, and now is against it for political reasons. Shes too wishy-washy.
You're overstating her voting for the Iraq War and then changing her position. She has explained that she voted, in 2002, to give the President the means to address a percieved threat from Iraq that turned out to be untrue.
