  • Increible el tono de esa guitarra amigo! Felicitaciones!

Que programa usaste para editar el video?

  • @Metallicgnacio

    Gracias por las flores!.

Si no me equivoco Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0

  • Cool dude.

  • @abutomatto

Thanks, mate!. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • you've got the most beautiful charvel my friend con grats:how much you paid for it.?here in europe i cant find that colour..

  • @alvin10388

I think that last USA batch was the 7th but, this last didn't included the purple one.

It costed exactly 1000 EUR but, believe me, the Japanesse ones are second to none.

    I checked mine against a friend's Japanesse .

No difference at all, about 300 EUR cheaper and, the Japanesse one even includes a hard case.

If I was myself today, I'd go for a Japanesse one.

  • Good job! I like how you fip everyone off while pointing to the pickups. Not intentional, i know. 4 more months till i get me an So-Cal...MJP though.

  • @SpookeyEyeGhost

    Thanks, mate!

It's a real demo of pickups and guitar, anyway. Not a cover.

  • I love all these 80's guitar brands, such as Kramer, Charvel, Hamer, all that, they were masterbuilt.

  • @Macsk8ing

Agree but, this guitar is really a modern one (I think, from 2009).

It corresponds to batch #6 of the cheap American Production Line (before being moved overseas, to Japan)

  • Excellent job bro in every aspect of this video.

  • @MultiScoffer Thanks for your positive feedback. I wish you the best.

  • really nice playing, but the effects got really frustrating.

  • @DesignRec

First editing video. I didn't anymore. I also hate it but, I'm to lazy to re-edit this one with a different program.

I must go ahead an assume my fails.

Did I say I am lazy?

    Lazzzz....

  • Yea fix the vibrato dude, I'm like "Yea that was an awesome lick!!!" then the lack of vibrato at the end just makes me feel empty like you just destroyed something beautiful. In, other words it makes me sad. If you don't use your hands for it, use the bar please. Beautiful guitar though!

  • @D1vid3By0

Ha ha ha. That's really funny, dude. Most of vibrato comments are related to the fact that I am exceding with vibrato (mosquito-vibrato) but, you claim for a lack of vibrato.

As I said. It never rains to the like of everyone.

  • @hermeticoguitar

Lol, i don't hear that at all. I mean your playing is great but i don't hear anything excessive. Maybe you're doing it too fast, you have more video right? i"m gonna check your channel out now.

  • @D1vid3By0

Then take a look to my "improvisations" list of videos.

The rest are demo of gear, mainly, with no sense playing.

  • I'm not dxielisc, jsut sepiacl and mmmmyyyy vvvviiiiibbbbrrrraaaatoooo iiiiissss aaaammmmmaaaazzzziiiiinnngggg

  • wow were the hell did that come from man hahahaha that was amazing. fuck what the dude says about tremalo bro thats my stile to. i much profer an unorthadox tremalo style lol.

    peace.

o and forgive spellings im dislecsic :O)

  • only one complaint on your playing and its your vibroto man fix that your all good

  • @CalebH50

Well, that's a common complain so, I guess I should think about it but, as another guy said, this is part of my esence, my signature sound so... should I change it?. Not sure. Still thinking...LOL

  • @hermeticoguitar thats understandable your pick bro no1 can make it for you but ya great playing

  • @CalebH50

Well, you know it... not everybody is happy when it rains.

    ;)

  • @hermeticoguitar hahaha and when it rains it pours

  • @CalebH50

    LOL, sure!

And, fortunatelly, it always rains downside, otherwise I would have my balls splashed (er... I guess, even more, if I was an scotish guy wearing a tartan).

    :P

  • @hermeticoguitar hahahaha wow

  • fantastic, thank you

  • charvel are the best

  • I laughed when i saw the lightning effect come at me. lol i was like That just made this video that much better. This guitar sound really good with the two dif Dimarzios in it. I have a guitar now with the Tonezone in the bridge and a PAF Pro in the neck. How does the Neck feel?? I really wuna get one of these but nowhere around where i live sells these. I'd hafta take my chances and just Buy online and hope for the best. please reply when u can.

  • Fuck em all Bro you just keep kicking ass on the guitar. haters are gonna hate players are gonna play.

  • @SNDNGRKLR

I try to take it all with humour. Thanks, mate!.

  • Ok...now I feel honored...lol!

  • I give you credit....at least you respond to msgs people leave you..

  • @ajdelay

this time, it will be the exception.

    LOL

  • I lied.....I shut it off because of the playing.. I actually liked the video

  • @ajdelay

    OMG!

You become the very first one that can really understand Art in pure state!

I encourage you to push Art to perfection. Please, take all your video effects and throw all them in a single photogram, this is how Purple Haze came to Jimi's Brain and guitar wasn't played in the same way anymore.

Please, let me know when you achieved it. I will surely pee in my pants!

  • Nice Job man! good playing. its not about the video, its about the damn playing!

  • @54Offwall

Thanks a lot, mate!. At least one than prefers to hear than to watch!!!

  • Watched vid till stupid editing effects took over. Next time dont try to get fancy with the video

  • @ajdelay

Everybody knows that. Everybody claimed about that.

Next time try to be more original and positive.

    You're annoying

  • Video effects.... *pukes*

  • @TriviumCrusader17

Great critic!. Daily Telegraph, I guess.

  • @hermeticoguitar Sorry dude, i cant even focus its such a nightmare.

  • @TriviumCrusader17

ha ha, I can imagine it. Just close your eyes and hear.

  • greate playing, absolutely shitty video effects.

  • @temg0

    What can I say?

    I absolutelly agree. Lamme video.

  • Is that trem recessed or not? Can you pull up?

  • @Stonyman65. Not, it isn't. You can just pull up exactly the same amount as any vintage trem, that is a quarter to half step, not more.

  • Fantastic performance, congrats!

I just ordered one of the USA So Cals from UK after a LOT of searching (it was the last one available from UK shops I think). I know the Pro Mods are excellent also, but a USA Production just has that aura of the 'real thing'.

Have you tried the San DImas Style 1 with Seymoure Duncan's by any chance? It was on my list but decided on the DiMarzios, more my line of sound. If I had cash I'd go for a San D S1 just for the hell of it, who knows, maybe a pro-mod! ;)

  • @Talliraju

    Hi, thanks for your comments.

No I've never tried a San Dimas but, I know both SD and DMZ pickups. IMHO, this kind of guitars need medium-output pickups, with moderner voices, in the way as the Dimarzios that loads the SoCal. While the Evo always seemed to me a good DMZ pickup, I always hated the ToneZone. I think a bridge Breed or, even an Evo or Evo2 will suit as a glove this axe.

  • Nicely executed, the guitar sounds exellent, your clean demos sounded so so, but once you went on to lead it made me smile big time! =)

I am looking for a more "rockish" guitar to complement my Jackson which I´ve had for more then 15 years now and are looking for a kind of "superstrat" thing and this i something in that area I think...

    thx for the demo

  • @ultram4

Well, the clean demo was just to demonstrate that, even at clean, her sounds awesome but, for sure, the fun with this kind of axes is under high gain and whammy parkingson movments.

IMHO, to go for a Charvel, having a Jackson, it's quite well the same and, I wouldn't consider this axe as a "rockish" one. Did you ever tried one LP-like for that stuff?. You don't need to go for Gibson's expensive stuff to have good results. Check my "Prestige Heritage Standard and LP exchanger mod" vids

  • @hermeticoguitar

My Jackson is real metal axe(not a RR or Kelly style but a soloist/proffesional typ) which I put EMG´s on.

Ive tried alot of LP´s but I don´t like them at all, I´ve tried some good SG´s but most of them have to thick necks for me, older SG´s have a better feel for me but they often come with a price tag that´s beyond what I´m willing to pay for an old instrument.

I´ve had a blade once that was a sweet axe, but it went to the pawnshop and I´m still moroning that one=(

  • @ultram4

As always, it depends on what are you more comfortable with. Not so expensive, check the Telecaster Classic Vibe Baja (awesome!), the Jimmy Vaughan Strato and, the Epiphone Wilshire Ltd and, even the Red from Brian May (surpresivelly playable, very interesting).

  • Well thank you foe your help man, you made this a lot easier for me.

  • So you would say a japanese guitar is a sound investment?

  • @Kostelny100

No doubt about craftmanship. Sound depends on bit more things, by example wood but, I guess those are made in Fujigen factory, and those work fine.

  • Wow thanks you hermeticoguitar for your help. It looks like I'd be leaning more towards a Charvel. So like any othe brand they come in a overseas model and an american made model?

  • @Kostelny100

It was originally USA made but, if I understood it well, it seems that production costs where so high that they were loosing money. It was an introductory set of about 7 USA batches then, production was moved to Japan.

But, knowing the perfect craftmanship of japanesse guitars and their sense of honour, I wish I had wait for those and saved about 300!!!

  • i am looking to buy a new guitar with a strat style body and this charvel is in the list of possible candidates. couls someone maybe explain the difference or advantages/disadvantages of this charvel compared to a nice american stratocaster? i would very much appreciate the help. please try to remain unbiased.

  • @Kostelny100

Fender owns both, Charvel and Fender.

Body is exactly the same. Main difference, and what distinguishes Charvel from the rest, is the neck. Neck has a compound radius, maybe a little bit narrower than a classy strato but, its compound radius makes it really easy to access any fret. Most of FR equiped guitars have a very plain fingerboard. Most of Fenders have just a fixed radius (9.5", by example).

Another difference, the Floyd Rose system, different from Strato's bridfe.

  • @Kostelny100

Another difference is pickups layout, even that you can find HH stratos, the classy strato has a SSS set of pickups.

From my point of view, a Fender Deluxe Strato is quite well the same talking about playability but, it lacks the Floyd Rose. I prefer the wider Fender's fingerboard but, Charvel is faster (better profile).

Japanese series come in a price really un-beatable for their quality. Original FR, charvel neck, fender body for that price? wow.

  • @Kostelny100

The question is: will you enjoy Floyd Rose tremolo?.

    YES --> Charvel, hands on.

    NO --> Strato

Second question: are you more comfortable with classy or modern sounds?

    MODERN --> Charvel

    CLASSY --> Strato

At same price range, just take a look to the Fender Stratocaster Jimmy Vaughan one. A master piece for a laughty price.

Then, compare it to the Charvel.

    Different animals, both awesome.

  • Im in love with Charvels ever since i've set eyes on the one Richie Sambora was using in the late 80's.

  • Holy cow I crapped my pants @ 3:12

  • great job. Do you think the guitar is worth the money? Thought about buying a such thing, just to be different from the world of Strat's.

I really think it sounds great.

    -And dude, btw, nice review.

  • @MsNillepille

Are you Joking?. ABSOLUTELY. YES, it's a bargain and, now even more. The Japanese ones come about 350 cheapper.

    Thanks for watching it!.

  • Psychedelic. Me likes. Mostly.

  • dude you should take the plastic off the pick guard. it'l look soo much better

  • @hgv33

It looks worst but, sounds better. :P

  • you really went hard with those video effects,

  • @gotpuck1111

    Ha ha ha.

I know it. First video of this kind. I am avoiding such a thing in my last ones.

I was really bored of seing myself static in front the camera.

  • you went all out with the video effects, nice playing!

  • @gotpuck1111

    Thanks. Very Kind.

  • great playing and nice tone.. can tell you're enjoying it!

  • @briceX

    Thanks, mate!.

  • My Bar Nut Always Comes Loose Too(San Dimas Style 2 Telebody)...Is There Anyway To Fix It Or What? I got corned just from watching your F T L of God {improv} hehe...I Love It!

  • @PappysReturn

I dunno. Probably some good trick can be found in Internet. I am tightening it harder before playing and it remain at least for one song.

    :(

  • I'm thinking of getting this guitar. It sounds great in every video that i've heard. I just can't seen to find anyone that has one so that I could test out the neck.. lol. I hear the necks are awesome on these!

  • @TachoSJ

Yup!. Neck is the Keystone of Charvel. That's their flagship. A real pleasure to play

  • @TachoSJ: I got mine a few days back. It exceeded every expectation, and my expectations were very high. The only better guitar I've owned was a 4000 dollar Jackson custom shop SL-1. Perfectly balanced, sounds awesome, plays awesome, keeps tune excellently, intonation is perfect, high quality parts all around, great construction, real Floyd Rose, excellent craftsmanship. My only complaint would be I'm not a huge Tone Zone fan--too much low end off the pickup IMHO.

  • @theoriginalmrsm

I absolutelly agree with your comments. A good Dimarzio match for that Evolution neck should be an Evo 2 bridge or, even a Breed.

In MY case, I swapped both pickups with a pair of Bareknuckle's Nailbombs.

  • now i know that the guitar sounds great and i know all the effects of your editing program ;-)

  • @wackmac

You know what happens when you know too much...

    LOL

  • Hey I see you answered many comments. I was wondering if you could tell e the price of this guitar. It looks awesome. Would like to own one in white color with black pickguard.

  • @HammerCOB

It costed exactly 1000 EUR to me, what was a bargain for such a guitar.

  • Comment removed

  • Nice job! Thank you for not talking, the guitar sounds great. I have a Style 1 2H, first batch and I just love the damn thing!

  • How can you NOT sound like Steve Vai when it comes with the Evolution neck pickup? lol. The pickups and Floyd Rose Original trems are what drew my attention to this guitar. I LOVE DiMarzio pickups.

  • @CyValkarion

Steve Vai sounds to Steve Vai, despite of the pickups or axe he uses.

I am not Steve Vai, I am not skilled, not an shredder, not a virtuoso so, if something sounds to Vai is just pure luck.

  • Do you need to roll back the volume to get nice clean tones? Furthermore, do you think the usa series is better than the "pro mod" made in japan?

  • @mgrein93

No, you don't need to roll back the volume to get a nice clean. In this demo, volume was at full, the whole time. For sure, if you have your amp cranked, you will need to do it but, if your amp channel is set to clean, no issues.

  • @mgrein93

About Japanesse series. I honestly have no idea. Never seen one and I cannot see its specifications. In one side, be confident that the finishing will be flawless, japanese factories work really good and take seriously the quality stuf (by nature).

In other side, those guitars seem the same. I know Charvel was loosing money with their USA Production Series so, I guess they finally moved the production to Japan. My only conern is to be sure about that FR... is it original?. Probably.

  • @hermeticoguitar Is it original on the USA series? I've read that on the pro mods, they use one they call FRT-O2000. They say it's an original floyd rose, but made in korea. What about the one used on the USA series? Where is it from?

  • @mgrein93

Since Fender bought Floyd Rose, any FR in their guitars (also owns Charvel) is Original. If the question is: from Schaller, Germany?. Probably not but, it's an Original Floyd Rose all the way. No others can be original since they own the firm.

But, don't be worried. It works flawless.

  • @TheCrashman1111

Please, read the video's info (more info). All the used gear is listed there.

    Surprised?

  • it look and sounds awesome !!!

  • Sounds great! I am hoping to pick up a Charvel So Cal soon.

  • @thebibleisalltrue

If they are still costing the same, they are a great purchase for the money. Good luck!

  • What program you use to edit your video?

  • @cruzetu

This video was edited with Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0 but, I currently prefer Sony Vegas.

  • Well done and nice video keep rocking

  • @ryanbailey112

Thank you, mate, to stop your train in my little station.

  • I just love the harmonics you elicited from the tonezone!!

  • @sensational1982

Thank you!. Yup, very easy with this pickup and a Dunlop Jazz III pick.

  • @TheCrashman1111

The FR wasn't in tune just the first three days, after swapping the strings. Since this, remains in tune without issues.

  • Didn't even sound like Vai. haha Joking. Very good! ;-)

  • @sportsportsport Wasn't my intention to sound as Vai. I just used his downloadable backing track to jam. At least, I was familiar with the song' structure. LOL.

    Thank you for your comments

  • @hermeticoguitar haha! I wasn't completely joking about the Vai comment, hence your disclaimer before you even started playing. I was hoping you'd read my first comment and initially think BUGGER!, some hot shot is bashing my vid when you had no intention of sounding like Vai lol! ;)

  • Sounds great! I am thinking about getting a 2010 Jap So Cal.

What is your opinion about the new Charvels So Cal from Japan?

  • @bluegraf I never played or seen one but, my experience is that japanese axes are awesomely crafted. They take quality serioulsy.

  • Vewwy nice.

  • @peterdemaeyer Thank Wu

  • great job, nice demo and playing! keep going.

  • @GuruzGT Thank you mate!

  • muito bom!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @gilneyparson muito obrigarinho

  • thats a clear ass vid what camera?

  • @CREWDOG289

It was a Sony DCR-SR210 Handycam

  • thats a sweet guitar and nice playing man!

im gonna get me one off these bad boys soon as i get my jackson soloist sold!

  • @sk8ordiet15

    Thank you, mate. Very kind.

  • ok, thanks

the guitar itself is solid, ive tried one ( but i couldnt use the FR ) its a pity that a hard case is not included

  • Im not kidding, actually ( well, i dont like his music in general )

by the way, is this FR a solid piece?

maybe, ill try to get one of the last SoCals still available

  • @21434gdvntg

Oh!, well. Very kind from your part then.

I don't get your question. Charvel is now owned by Fender as Floyd Rose is so, what these Charvels mount are just Original Floyd Rose units, maybe not produced in Germany but, Original all the way.

Yup, try one of those. Really good for the price. The neck is the keystone of Charvels.

  • i dont like the original version, but this one sounds good:)

  • @21434gdvntg

Ha ha ha. Good Joke. Cheers

  • That was really good!!! Thanks from Italia!!!!

  • @danstortion

    Thanks to you, bro!

  • ok ok get on with it !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice demo!! What wood is this guitar made of?

  • @sensational1982

Alder Body. Mapple Neck and Fretboard

  • Your a fuckin Fool!!! i love this shit!!!! the camera starts shakin!!Lmao your a cool dude!!!

  • I have looking at one of these for ages....thanks for the sounds samples. I am a RG guy so making the switch is a tough call :)

  • That was fantastic. Nice sound.

  • @NickMass35

Thank you mate to stop your train for a while in my little station

  • @hermeticoguitar You bet. My pleasure.

  • Hey man, been seeing you on the SD forum thoughtn i'd come check you out. Your doing some great video's and playing mate! I'm sorry if your getting asked this alot but I'm having trouble finding this backing track in this kind of audio quality. Can you remember where you found this one at? Cheers mate. IC.

  • @IcechickenSr

Sorry mate. I really don't remember it!.

    Just downloaded for this demo.

    :(

  • hey i kno this is a bolt on neck, but is it difficult to reach the higher frets? i was considering on of this guitars and i was JW

  • @tajmichael

They are reachable but, it cost to me more than in other guitars. The Deluxe Strat has a biased corner that makes it easier. Any Ibanez has rounded cornes and are easier. If you play with your thumb finger over the fretboard (it's my vice) and your grip between index and thumb fingers is small (like my case) then, yes.

Otherwise, it would be as difficult as any standard strato.

  • @tajmichael

Note: if you want one. Do it quickly. They aren't going to produce anymore those "low end" guitars since, it seems they were loosing money. The 7th batch is the last. Later, maybe they will move that production series to Asia.

  • Hi ! i got an Ibanez rg1570 prestige, i got some questions about the pickups, first of all my evo is on the bridge and it is very high, it nearly reached my strings, how can i get it a bit lower so i can play ? second question, i am looking for a neck and a middle pickup (dimarzio) which have a wide range of tone. Thank you very much =) Btw you play very smooth, it's beautiful.

  • I'm not sure if you are kidding but, anyway, this is the answer:

On each side of each pickup, you must have an screw. If turning it clockwise, you will lower the pickups, anti-clockwise you will raise the pickup.

Maximun heights, recommended by Dimarziio are:

    Neck & MIddle: 3.2mm (low E) and 2.4mm (high E)

    Bridge: 2,4mm (low E) and 1.6mm (high E)

This, measured from the top of the pole to the bottom of the string, while depressing the string on the last fret.

  • An Evo Neck will perfectly match your Evo bridge. Both are great pickups. I had those in an JEM7V and liked them.

You can also check the Air Norton or any PAF or PAF pro, if you are looking for some vintage vibe.

Evo middle pickup, I hated it and it's quite well the same as the HS3 so, I will recommend there a True Velvet single coil.

  • @hermeticoguitar Thank you very much for the answers. You saved the day, thanks again.

  • dude this was some great playing. Loved the Vai theme, but you have your own unique sound. Excellent work

  • Thank you for stopping your train in my little station for a while.

    Best wishes for you.

  • i've got a san dimas and i love it!!! these guitars rock hardcore. it's definitely my fav out of my 6 electric guitars that i own...besides my custom :)

  • Well, I love all my guitars because all them sound different and make me playing in different ways.

This one is my prefered one for more modern tones.

  • wow, man these guitars are beautiful! especially the maple necks!!!! they are so good looking. I love the exotic colours too. they look GREAT. I just wish they weren't bolt ons. or is that for a reason?

  • You haven't to be worried about those necks.

Charvel is famous for its rock-solid necks. The tennon or pocket for the neck is twice thicker than a regular Fender (that's why I am in problems trying to reach the lowest frets).

    Why bolt-on? Why not?

Bolt-on necks are an invent of Leo Fender, since he was an engeneer more than a luthier. He wanted guitars easy to produce in mass and bolt-on was one of his bunch of contributions to instruments.

  • Don't bolt-ons have less sustain than other neck constructions though? Because that's what I dislike about them. Really it doesn't matter the me if it's a bolt-on or not. But I rather prefer a glued on construction type because of the easier access to the higher frets.

  • At same quality in every part yes but, there a lot of things involved: wood, hardware, electronics, strings, pickups, amp, craftmanship...

So, not necesarelly every neck-thru guitar will have more sustain than every bolt-on guitar..

The important thing is just quality and, this guitar gots it. Period.

  • Thanks for the reply!

  • Damn some of those visual effects were messing with my eyes. Especially the one at 4:13 I blinked right as it happened and was like shit I'm going blind lol. Anyway, nice guitar and nice playing.

  • Thank you a lot for your comments.

I am sorry, I have some feedback in that way also from my friends so, I will take it into account for next videos. Just wanted to make something moving, since I have to stay static in front the camera, and I was bored to see myself. LOL.

  • Thanks for this video! Nice to hear some sweet tones this will influence my purchase decisions for sure.
