I'd willingly die for a soldier if I knew it would help, but I just don't have the balls to join the army. I have been so tempted to go to the recruiting office, and I really do love my country, a lot, but I don't have the courage. Thank you for doing what I can't. :)
@Kurmuh I joined when I was 18 and I didn't consider myself to be courageous of any sorts. Don't beat yourself up. The military wants men with big brains not big balls, they need independent thinkers not some tough bro who flexes a lot. Loving your country is great, and everyone has their own reason why they join the military. You say you can't do it but you will never know unless you just do it. I joined because I wanted something more than my life at the moment could offer.

@SUP3Rtoastr if you don't want to work for something that you really want, than I don't know how to help you. You can contact your recruiter, and if they may be able to help you get into shape, although I see a lot of over weight recruiters theses days.

It saved my life, my future, and gave me the happiness and direction I needed. Give it a shot. If you dont like it, dont cut it, they will let you go.

@Kurmuh You start you training with no idea, but by the end of your training you start to have confidence in what you do, then when a situation arises, you instinct and your training kicks in. If you think joining the military will make you happy, then you must join, it it so rewarding. Just give it ago, you can always pull out after basic training.
@Kurmuh Find out more about the military, find out what you would like to do. That might help motivate you, I was the same until i got so enthusiastic about joining the officer core with the goal of getting very high up in the ranks. I want to be like Rommel, find your motivation.
Im not a hard nothing can hurt me tough guy, but 'm smart and you seem to be to. Don't worry about being brave, the Military will teach you how to react in situation's of fear which is often seen as bravery.

@pandemic4tw Well, a POG is a derogatory term used for Marines who are in infantry, 0317 is the new Scout Sniper military occupation specialty, it used to be a secondary MOS which was 8541. and a FOB is a Forward operating base which Marines conduct missions from outside of main bases.

@Daytonaman675 I don't consider myself high-speed low drag at all. As part of a conventional battalion not with MARSOC we get a limited selection of what we can use. I never have thought of myself as "better" than anyone else, civilian or military. Our job is to watch the grunts on the front lines back. Every special forces or Socom outfit is in support of the main effort which is the infantry. And the guy in the video is not me but my friend who is a mortar-man and FDC.

@MrBATEZY1 I went to a 2 week shooting development course that was instructed by a Warrant Officer who is a Master Sniper in the Australian Army. He was really cool and we were on a first name basis throughout the course. I learned some new techniques that helped me progress my shooting skillset. I saw a couple of SASR guys in Kandahar they look like some bad dudes to mess with.

Petersburg, and Stalingrad. that would have been around 1943 although germanys air force would have been pretty beaten up it would still be enough to take Britain on.

Yet when I'm learning about other nation's forces. I've never seen a Canadian talking smack on a British military vids(just an example).

@pandemic4tw Well, a POG is a derogatory term used for Marines who are in infantry, 0317 is the new Scout Sniper military occupation specialty, it used to be a secondary MOS which was 8541. and a FOB is a Forward operating base which Marines conduct missions from outside of main bases.

@Daytonaman675 I don't consider myself high-speed low drag at all. As part of a conventional battalion not with MARSOC we get a limited selection of what we can use. I never have thought of myself as "better" than anyone else, civilian or military. Our job is to watch the grunts on the front lines back. Every special forces or Socom outfit is in support of the main effort which is the infantry. And the guy in the video is not me but my friend who is a mortar-man and FDC.

@MrBATEZY1 I went to a 2 week shooting development course that was instructed by a Warrant Officer who is a Master Sniper in the Australian Army. He was really cool and we were on a first name basis throughout the course. I learned some new techniques that helped me progress my shooting skillset. I saw a couple of SASR guys in Kandahar they look like some bad dudes to mess with.

Okay. I'm annoyed. Have any of you (the ones that are bitching) ever taken the time to talk to us (Marines) to ask why it is we do what we do? Personally, my answer would be along the lines of "So others don't have to" or "I was bored and said 'Why not?'" Sometimes I start thinking about the complainers and the things they say, and I have to wonder if they/you even realize that the reason they can complain about what we do, is because we do what we do.

@AndrewSMi95: The japanese Airforce had 4x more planes than Germany, and we bombed them. After the Soviet Union, Germany was so weak, that the UK would beat them. While Germany would be focussed on the UK, the US would bomb Berlin in a Night Raid.

@TankNutJohn89 The Japanese air force was spread out over all of the captured Islands, carriers, and such the majority wasn't on the japanese mainland I i think your getting the 4X more quantity of also including the Kamikaze planes later on. Also the soviet union IF it had collapsed it would have been after the fall of moscow, ST. Petersburg, and Stalingrad. that would have been around 1943 although germanys air force would have been pretty beaten up it would still be enough to take Britain on.

One thing I have noticed on any US military videos there seems to always be this under layer of judgment from other countries towards our/my military(that I am proud to soon be a part of). Yet when I'm learning about other nation's forces. I've never seen a Canadian talking smack on a British military vids(just an example).
I know my country may not be perfect, but it's still mine and I would appreciate you to respect that. If you don't like us then don't watch our videos. It's that simple :-)

I usually try to avoid these discusions since most americans that watch these videos are fiercy ( if not too fiercly )patriotic and are not capable of a neutral opinion. Now I'm a soldier in the slovenian military and I have served in Afghan alongside british german and US troops. While ALL of the combatants have my respect, none of them literarly enjoy killing people except for the americans. it's almost like it's a game for them. When we kill someone, we pay our respects. the US sadly doesn't.

@Atreadis People are always going to judge the folks in combat jobs, if you can't deal with all the things that come with being a frontline troop you should have chosen a different job. Our jobs are to kill for the nation. I can't understand how you can respect an enemy who hides out in caves, leaves landmines and IED's all over the country taking both soldiers and civilians lives and limbs. There's a difference between what they do and an enemy worthy of respect.
