FOX News has called this a takeover implying that hospitals and docs will be run by government.... not true... this is a gov insurance option that will compete with the private market... a option... I think tort reform is the way to go.. bcause doctors practice defensive medicine that really leaves us with a bigger bill,but i do like the bill

How is stopping you? - Everyone has the right to excercise or not to excercise their constitutional right. Everyone has the right to bare arms, excluding convicted felons. That doesn't mean that the gov't cant legislate that you need to pass a test. Hell..if you have to pass a test to drive a car, it makes sense that some sort of safety course could someday be a necessary part of gun ownership.

If the HR3200 is socialist then so is Medicare, Now the National Guard and Army Reserve have access to a Gov't sponsered health care option. It's like $180 a month, so exactly why isn't the one segment of society (middle class) that drives the economy entitled to affordable health care? - Why is it so important for reform protestors to support medical insurance companies that have been driving up cost while reducing benefits. I love how they say the dissenters are being orchestrated when all of the supporters are wearing the same color shirt and all belong to the same organization, which probably is some social program that gets paid by the government to just show up and try not to look stupid. And then the guy says they're not letting special interests win by passing a thousand page bill for them.

Yea, that's what I meant: government-supported unions. And actually unions in generally couldn't exist without government so by their very nature that's the case as well. I mean theoretically a group of people could get together and whatever...but today's unions (the majority) are very centralized, and don't benefit its members any more than it benefits the employers. In fact it hurts everyone, and that is why government and the corporate elite support them.

Are you kidding? - Do you know how many john mccain lovin' republicans work in my union shop? I've been a member of the CWA for 16 years, and they take care of their members quite well. I just got 4 weeks paid vacation on my 15th year, 7 paid sick days, Medical, dental, and vision for a wopping $87 per month. And trust me, my employer profits a shit load. It's a win-win.

Yea you might think it's good, but its not. That doesn't mean you should stop paying union fees or refuse to strike when they tell you to, because they'll probably throw you in jail, so it's more like you're told its good, and you really don't have any choice but to go along, because non-member employees often get attacked either physically or financially and then they themselves are the ones who end up in jail.

It's 80% the other way, and even that might be too low. Because if you think about it, about 1 in 3 Democrats support the bill, every Republican doesn't, and everyone who isn't political doesn't obviously, so it's 1 in 3 in 4 (assuming 50-50 Democrat, Republican) in 8 (assuming half aren't political. So it's 1 in 15 support it. equals 93.33333 percent against it (rough estimate)
