  • Hey!! This video is very helpful, but I have no idea how to make it longer and wider! I have never knitted before in my life, until tonight! Lol

  • Thank you for this video. It was very helpful and I cant wait to get started on my project.

  • So I'm new with this I bought a plastic loom but I follow your instructions and my scarf is to loose what am I doing wrong? Help please..

  • @bkarina66 you need to make sure you tightly push down your rows in between each.

  • I am with Synful74 I just got this loom after seeing a girl at work with a round one!!!! And I was reading the instruction booklet and was thinking oh boy...:) Now I think I can do this!!!!! and I can make great and useful gifts for friends and Family! thanks a million!!!

  • I just started knitting and I love it...thanks for this video and keep them coming :)

  • Thank you so much for posting this video! I have been staring at the instructions for a few days and it just wasn't clicking watching you do it makes much more sense :-)

  • @Synful74

I am glad you found this helpful. When I first bought my loom set, I stared at the instructions for a while, too. Happy knitting!

  • How long does it take you to make an average sized scarf with 2 strands of yarn? Thanks :)

  • @23bianca97

Give yourself a 4 or 5 hours. I can not tell you an exact time for 2 reasons.

    1) It depends on how wide you make it.

    2) I haven't made one of these scarves in a LONG time so I don't remember.

Keep in mind that scarves stretch with wear. You can expect a 25% increase in length after stretching. For example, if you knit a 4 foot long scarf, it will end up being 5 feet after stretching. This also means that the width will decrease, so knit it wider than you think you want it.

  • I miss that cat. RIP

  • the cat xD

  • You are so awesome. I finally understand how to use this tool thanks to you.

  • cute kitty.... :)... do you know any other pattern besides the diamond ? :) I like your video

  • @paolagzzgzz

I like to experiment with different peg-wrapping techniques to see what the resulting scarf will look like. I may have to post a few more videos to show this... Stay tuned.

  • I just started about 4 days ago loom knitting and i love it! this tutorial was so great. Thank You ! :)

  • is it possible to flip it if u lost ur stick thing

  • @madimay214

Buy them at any craft store or Walmart. They are about $1. I tried to use a bent paperclip, but it didn't work. Rather difficult without the right tool.

  • @madimay214

My knitting thing broke and I started using a small fork. It works just fine I actually think it's more comfortable.

  • What did the scarf look like when finished?

  • Can you show how to cast off this knit??? It would be greatly appreciated! :-)

  • This is cool... I learned to knit from my grandma and now I'm teaching my daughter... and my wife loves all my projects... Just finished our socks and hats and scarfs for winter and we will go for mittens next week... I'm still looking for a nice pattern for mittens... any ideas?

  • @pgarmin

Sorry, I have only done flat panels and hats so far on my loom so I can't help you there. I am glad you are having as much fun as you are. Do you use a loom? My most recent project is using 5 strands of acrylic yarn together to make a scarf. It is nice and bulky, perfect for cold autumn days coming up.

  • @cyanastropyre

Yes, we have all the circular and long looms... I think today I want to make a loom myself, to be a fine gauge adjustable one for making socks... without using the bulky yarn...I mean bulky but still decent to be able to wear in a nice pair of shoes...

I did try acrylic for my son's hat and he loves it, I was skeptical at the beginning I thought acrylic won't be so warm in the winter but I guess it is...

  • There are plenty of us guys out there who love to knit (and/or crochet)!!! I started another project today, a shawl for my sister's birthday present. I am garter-stitching it. I am thinking of uploading a video of that technique soon so stay tuned... ;)

  • finally, i see another guy who likes to knit! i thought i was the only one :)

  • Great "how to" video!! I've never done this particular loom stitch before, am now looking forward to trying it soon!! Am trying to finish a pretty large American Flag blanket first, before I start any new projects though... Thanks so much for posting this video!!

  • Would you put fringes on this ? I am doing hot pink and I think it would look good but would like another opinion.

  • Go for it! I made a shawl for a friend using this pattern (but using a wider loom) and put tassels on it. It looked so much better. If you are using hot pink, I would also suggest using black for the second strand of yarn. Contrasting colors are great together. My friend's shawl was made with white and purple yarn.

  • Your not going to believe I had to rip everything I had done out. I am so blonde for real I am starting over, but I will do the black and pink idea now. I am just not having good luck with knitting last couple of days. Well thanks for replying laters.

  • There are plenty of times I have had to start over with my projects. You have to expect that there is a learning curve to any craft or art you tackle. Hopefully you learn from the mistake you made to create bigger and better things.

  • Thanks again for everything.

  • Thanks for the great video, I was looking for a way to make a scarf and you are my answer

    Thanks again

  • You are welcome. I prefer this way to the instructions that came with the Knifty Knitter. The original instructions make one "right" side and one "wrong" side. The instructions I demonstrate here make both sides the same.

  • thank you !!! happy new year!!
