similar gearing to my home-made kart, I just had a 9hp but i could do about 34mph flat out..In the winter snow i changed drive pulley so It topped about 28mph.
i had the same issue with my sons kart i built.. i pulled the pin out and it handled fine, but then all my brake was to just one wheel. this next time around i'll be using a differential in t he drive train..
Hi, it really looks very good. I did the same thing with the jackshaft. Using pilow bearings allows you fix any miss alignment. Please se my videos at 64jorthom, I would like to know your opinion. There is a lot of fun driving these things. Don't keep it secret.
I ended up pulling one of the keystock out of one of the rear drive wheels. So one wheel is now providing power and the other turns freely to give me a better turn radius. It's not a perfect solution but it works fine.
