Good playing Heather, just a suggestion, get a bigger crash, or a dark crash. You're playing is really good, but sometimes the brightness/size of the cymbals sounds weird because it's so high-pitched.
@agubna Thanks. Yeah, I'm working on that. I have all the cymbals I really want now, do I'm going to sell a few and get higher grade Zildjians, which will be less bright, which will fit the music better, too.
@hvrocker2 Yeah, is there any chance you could type out in a comment or message me what cymbals you have/size? Another drummers curiousity lol. An 18" would probably be good if you were going with a generally brighter crash. Or a dark crash 16 or 17"/ I have the 16" and its a nice balance between bright and dark being only 16" which is usually pretty damn bright.
@agubna Yeah, I'll put the specs on my profile again. I wish I had an 18", but I started off with a 14" to save money cos my parents proably thought drumming was just a phase, haha.
@hvrocker2 haha yeah I hear ya. Definitely a HUGE price difference between a 14" and an 18" especially if its a better quality cymbal line. Most of the higher quality cymbals don't even make 14" that's also kinda why I wanted to know what they are haha. I just bought a Sabian HH 17" Thin Crash. Really expensive....but if you ever get the chance to upgrade to really high quality lines, the HH line of Sabian is top notch. One of the best out there.
@agubna Ohh, I didnt even know that haha. 14 is an ideal size for hats, not so much a crash. But, I gotta be happy with I got becasue I could of got a crappy Percussion Plus drumkit with Excell cymbals. When I ever saw the Ludwig logo on the box I almost crapped my pants, haha. I really can't wait for upgrades though, tbh. Thanks for the advice. I heard Xs20's are good too?
By the way, this is stupid - but is it pronounced say-bian or sah-bian? haha...
@hvrocker2 Sorry for responding so late, youtube didnt send me an email you responded...but yeah 14" is a small for any crash. Lol and yeah excell cymbals = junk so that was a good call haha.As for the Xs20's,they are good, decent for any making their way up, but still one of the lower options. It's probably the 3rd lowest above B8's(and B8 Pro's)which are their most affordable line. The best are HH(Hand Hammered), AA, AAX(Which is the line my amazing Dark Crash is from), Paragon, and HHX.
@hvrocker2 and it's pronounced "Say - Bian" haha. It's okay you're not stupid :D Another one people have a really hard time with is Paiste. They are a very good company and the company i'm about to buy my Medium Ride from. You pronounce that " Pie - Stee". Weird, I know...
@hvrocker2 Yeahhh haha most people think it's paste, including me before I actually looked and around researched and found out otherwise haha. Are we gonna see another cover up soon?
@hvrocker2 ohhhh both really tough songs so be careful with those. The Rev can't be taken lightly but good luck XD I have practice with my band on thursday/friday and thursday is when im getting my sabian HH crash in so if i remember ill take a vid of all my crap at the moment. I do have a Paiste ride on the way as well, but it wont be here till next monday probably.
@agubna Probably. I'm covering some Vampire Weekend and Foals very soon. I'm woking on 2 or 3 Avenged Sevenfold songs, and a Three Days Grace song as well.
@hvrocker2 Nice nice. Make sure you got those A7X songs down before you go for the upload run....much better to have a really solid run then a rough run since near any A7X song is really tough. The Rev was indeed the king of drums. Some easier but still fun songs would be like seize the day, clairvoyant disease and some others. Which were you planning on doing?
@hvrocker2 Yeah, the double bass is easily my weakest point right now. I just have horrible coordination between my 2 legs. But yeah! Let me know which cymbals you're planning on getting when you do know and I can help ya out, one drummer to another! :D
@agubna Yeah. I can coordinate pretty well, it's just that my legs are really weak. The pedal is the cheapest pedal out there too, an upgrade may help a little.
@hvrocker2 Nice. I have tama iron cobras and they're pretty awesome.Haven't had any issues with them yet. They can be pretty pricey, but you get what ya pay for haha.I just heard from my guitarist in our band that he has decided to leave us, so i'm not sure the next time i'm going to be able to get to my frontmans house for practice.Hopefully still friday or so,cause now I want to get that video up bad for some reason haha. I do have 1 older drum video up on here though.oh well.and no problem! :)
@hvrocker2 Yeah, very good pedals. Feel very comfortable while playing. And thanks! haha. That's probably a good month or two old, so hopefully I can get something else up soon but sadly idk.
You need better audio, and gj.
