I am really not certain if it is the proper fat loss diet regime for any person, but DietOramy fat loss diet regime surely helps my mom eliminate all of that excess fat deposits. There is plenty free info on the web about that, just use Google...
Very intrigued by this video honestly! I want to make this for my sister but I was wondering if there is any alternative to corn starch since my sister is allergic, she can't have it. Do you know if corn starch is really needed in the mixture or know of any alternative?
I will be starting my diet soon, and I'm going to use this recipe, looks great. I have a question, can I add other vegetables, like broccoli, cabbage, and couple slice of potatoes? Not all at once but some days I'll alternate broccoli or cabbage but keeping the original recipe. And thanks for the recipe I hit jackpot when I found it.
This came out perfectly! Thank you again, Betty! I need nice warm recipes to get me through the fall and winter while still watching calories. Something about a warm meal is so much more satisfying than a cold one.
You must know by now that you're the absolute best!!!!
If you don't know it, I can assure you, your fans do.
I'm a fan, and I made this soup tonight (with a small variation, I added some stewed tomatoes). Verdict: FANTASTIC. Loved your channel from day 1 and have been
a fan since, well, day 1. Take care, and all the best.
Hi Betty :) We got our first gusts of chilly air here in Pensacola last night. I put this together for my lunch today and it is AWESOME. This is definitely a go-to recipe. Thanks so much!
@toddcalling Hi Todd! It's so nice to hear from you! It's chilly here in KY, too! I'm glad you are finding some warmth from the Chicken and Vegetable Soup.
Since I pressure can chicken and chicken stock when it's on sale I'm excited about this recipe. It will be very simple to make out of my food storage.
I am so excited about this. I am doing Weight Watchers and I have been looking for a soup I can eat throughout the day that is nourishing and low in WW "points." This fits the bill. If I eliminate the chicken and add even more vegetables, I can have this for pretty much 0 points. Thanks so much for posting. I love your channel.
@033152636 The chicken broth is known to be salty, so you don't need to add salt. The flavors blend together to make a great taste, so I don't add spice, other than freshly ground black pepper on the top. Of course, you can add some parsley, or dill, or rosemary--just whatever you like!
Wow - this looks really nice, Betty! I will definately give this one a try this weekend. If you have any more low calories ideas, please do post them up! :)
@Nemie125 Thanks for your lovely comment! I will try to give more low calorie dishes, but I have to work in some regular, and even calorie-loaded recipes to meet everyone's needs!
Hi Betty, Just letting you know i made the soup and it was lovely, I used some leftover chicken (in th uk we dont have cannec chicken) and i used some canned veg and i watched this video a few times and i must tell you it is LOVELY, i think making soup this way is alot better then from a packet or can plus it's low calorie :) I made up about 4 days worth of soup so i will eat this for lunch each day :) Thanks Betty!
@NinaLuvsFriedChicken Hi Nina! Thanks for your great feedback! This really is a nice soup to make a lot of at one time, and then have it for lunch a few times. It's not something you get tired of quickly!
Great video, so many great tips throughout the video! Loved the starch information! This is also a great way to avoid MSG in your soup! Very low calorie, easy to make, great video thanks for sharing!
@skidmetal20 The chicken pot pie is delicious, either with biscuits on top, or by using a ready-made pie crust--like a double crust pie--be sure to increase the calorie count by a lot if you use pie crust, but not too much with the biscuits.
@PaisleyGiraffe I am so glad that you liked the recipe! I hesitated about posting it, because it is so simple. But, I agree with you--sometimes I *don't* want to cook, but I don't want my family getting a fast food burger at 1800 calories (I think that's currently the top calorie count for a burger from a restaurant I won't mention). This is faster than getting fast food, plus it is hearty and tasty! Thanks so much for your lovely comment!
@Mocatan2000 Thanks for your great feedback! It is great that you had freshly cooked chicken and broth! This soup is so versatile, you can easily make it to your own specifications and still keep the calories down!
That looks really good!!! I was surprised to see you hold up a Walmart brand, you're always using Kroger & I spotted your dog in the background of this video lol
@f4reeksho Thanks! I actually think that the Walmart brand has the *best* flavor and lowest calorie count that you can find! (Remy will probably be the "star" of my next bloopers video; he just will *not* stay out of the kitchen when he smells food cooking, and he knows something is up when we are trying to shoot a video!)
I have gotten so many dinner ideas from your videos - I have been exposed to new ingredients and dishes which I wouldn't have if you didn't devote your time to make your videos - and for that I sincerely thank you :) (I don't even care about calories)
@Mocatan2000 I will be doing a varied mix of recipes, some light, some not so light. But, I never forget that some of you are looking for low calorie recipes!
@Thetis101 You are welcome. This is one recipe that is really for everybody! You can adjust it to meet any specific needs, but it is quick, easy, inexpensive, hearty, but low in calories!
This is such an easy soup! Perfect to make when you don't have anything ready made. I will totally make it this summer! I use mostly salt free or low salt canned products :)
@JessicaPersonalChef Thanks for your lovely comment! Everyone should just adapt this recipe to their own needs, like you are doing with the low salt products. And, it is one of those recipes that you can have the ingredients on hand for when you just want to make your meal in 5 minutes!
@richardpeej Thanks for your great comment! This is a hearty soup--which is someimes hard for people to come up with while counting calories. But, you don't have to be on a diet to enjoy this one!
Your ratings are disabled so 5 stars ***** I will surely be making this. I still need to lose weight and I love chicken soup. The stuff in the cans has way too much sodium. That's a no-no for me because I am already on 2 blood pressure medications.
@Ragrog105 Thanks for your sweet comment! Yes, you can make this using leftover chicken and fresh vegetables, and it will taste even better, but have the same calories! I hope you enjoy it!
Yeah biscuits are kind of like buttermilk scones...just a little different. They're usually pretty soft. You can put butter and/or jam on them, eat them with gravy, eat them with sausage and cheese, etc. There's a good pic of one on wikipedia.
@mwcookie Biscuits are a quick bread made from a batter and kneaded a few times, rolled, and cut into rounds. They are baked in an oven and are a little bit crisp on the outside, but fluffy inside. They are a type of bread, not sweet like cookies. We spread them with butter, marmelade, honey, etc.

Great video, but Betty, out of all people, you're the last one who needs to watch their calories. Your body is perfect. You look like a 35 year old :D
@markiemarkstyle I have some finger sandwiches that you might like--my favorite is deviled ham and cream cheese with chives on rye (cut into strips), and then I have lots of things like 2 Ritz crackers spread with peanut butter and dipped in white chocolate--Yummy! No mess for either, and I have several of each type in bettyskitchen.
I am going to try this recipe because i love soups and i need to lose a few pounds so i will make a big vat up of it and have it for my lunch each day instead of my usual sandwich..Thanks for sharing Betty
Obviously fresh foods are healthier...Betty already said that in the video. However, fresh ingredients can be more expensive and will definitely take longer to cook...therefore...NOT a quick 5 minute soup.
@Smartass8504 Thanks, also, to you for emphasizing that this was just an idea for a quick soup for dieters that is delicious enough that anyone would like it! It was not intended to raise the question of canned foods vs. fresh foods.
@derekbegins Thanks for understanding and vocalizing the whole point of the video! It was not about canned vegetables vs. fresh; it was just and idea for a low calorie meal that anyone can make either with leftover chicken and fresh vegetables, or canned chicken and canned vegetables!
Betty, I notice you drink iced tea quite often and I am curious. Do you drink it sweetened or unsweetened. I am trying to drink more tea for the health benefits but can't get past the taste for the unsweetened variety. This is a great option for a quick low cal meal. Thanks again!
@DeniseH60 May I recommend "Wholesome Sweetners" organic blue agave, found at Costco and other food stores. I've replaced sugar with this for any recipes calling for sugar. It's 25% sweeter than sugar, so one would need to adjust for that.
@DeniseH60 I *never* put sugar in my iced tea; I drink so much tea that I would have a lot of unnecessary calories if I used sugar. I suggest that you use an artificial sweetener of your choice. It may not taste exactly like sugar, but you will adapt to it very quickly!
LOVE MEATS, chicken soup is amazing,is it because you titled it 5-Minute Diet Chicken and Vegetable Soup, you are using canned foods ? but try to use only fresh ingredients vs canned .love meat chicken dishes.make salads too.thanks.

@DeniseH60 I *never* put sugar in my iced tea; I drink so much tea that I would have a lot of unnecessary calories if I used sugar. I suggest that you use an artificial sweetener of your choice. It may not taste exactly like sugar, but you will adapt to it very quickly!
