I am used to the twin screw type. I like the superior response and low end torque. I understand that they are all belt driven, but a whipple S/C unit is no turbo.
@apmirkin because of the torque curve of the S62 isnt very favorable at higher RPM. In addition it has a much lower rev limit. The M5 electronics swap would also be costly, whereas a kit is just that, bolt on, flash, drive away. Much easier project.
VF are noobs.

ghetto welds on that manifold.

@krapfeaster
I know, I thought that was shitty looking! It's not even a real supercharger, it's a belt driven turbo.

@112namrepus
Umm... A supercharger IS a belt driven turbo, basically. They're both air compressors, and that's that.

@MiamiBomber a SC will be comparable at same psi unless you go with methanol injected turbo.

it's impressive but for that sort of performance I'll just spend £1600 on a v8 m5 engine and take car up to circa 400bhp straigt away!
just like the Hartge H50!

i imagine it would cost a lot more in time and money to jam an E39 M5 engine in the E46.
but i like the way you think :)

it depends if you aere capable of doing it yourself and with a friend..
However, the new m3 v8 is a lighter block than the e39 v8.. I'll wait for a few to e wrote off this year and see what happens!

@apmirkin Its been a year! A S65 is still 13k for engine alone from a wreck in the US. ={

Definitely well put together. Not like those videos where big dudes come and scream "powerrr" "kick-arse" and adjectives like that :)
Keep up the good work!
