  • a big part of my teens i am a lucky guy to have such great music when i was growing up

  • If deserted on an island with capability to play music cd's, Desolation Boulevard would be a pick for any of 5 cd's allowed. This entire album is absolutely fantastic! Long live Sweet!

  • Why does todays music suck so badly next to the likes of The Sweet?

  • @LionheartNh because you don't look for good music.

  • @lilburnmafia That's crap!

  • This was Brian's favourite Sweet song .

  • In `68 I was 3 and busy gettin shocked by the power meters on the side of the house, thought they were gas pumps for my Hot Wheels. One of my cousins turned me onto Desolation Blvd when I was 10 along with Hair of The Dog. I don`t really understand any of their early shite but this still kicks ass. Lots of 80`s metal bands ripped these guys off. This is still badass stuff.

  • maaan, what a tune...

  • Sweet rulez 4 ever!!! Mick was one of the best Rock Drummers in the 70ties!!

Sweet are the first Heavy Metal Band! Glamrock rulez!!!

  • @rsvnige Glam Rock spoiled them, I was a teenager in the early 70's and it was fun at the time but they couldn't shake it off, alas.

  • Like Many Artists From Many different walks of Life, Only Truely recognised / Respected Years after their Time !!

  • Die siebziger das waren noch Zeiten ! Wo ist die Zeit geblieben :

  • Always forget how good this song is, and you here it, and it sounds new again.

  • This song was my first bought single of The Sweet.... I bought the album Desolation Boulevard after that I was sold!!!

  • My favourite band of all time....so underrated...never understood why they went unrecognized in the uk music industry.

  • One of their best singles. Once they were allowed to play the music they wanted to they got better and better.

  • cool melody as usual

  • The greatest glam-rockband ever - Sweet.

  • @3xtob

Equal top with a little known band called Slade.

  • I have the 8 track tape of this album still. A great Album by a very under rated band.

  • @macocwbyz72 Yeah-I agree with you- I don't think many of my fellow Brits realise the Sweet could achieve something like "DB"- they tend to judge them by the singles, which, and i have to agree, were a little shrill sounding, esp. on the choruses.(compare "Fox on the Run" for instance,single-yuk!-and L.P.version-on the choruses).Maybe the group felt pressured into "Glamming it up".

  • super,,,,,,,thats my idols in the 70`s

  • You'll never go wrong when you're sixteen!!! I love this song!!!!

  • Nice Old Photos! Enjoyed!

  • the Greats of the Greats

  • Wow! Great! Love it!

  • I love this song.

I still have the Desolation Boulevard 8-track.

    Sweet rocks on.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • I'v seen them live about 11 times here in Denmark...

  • an amazing song for an amazing Era. they don't write anything close to this any more

  • I love sweet so much!

  • Just great lyrics lov this song, Sweet at there best God bless you Guys.

  • Sheer magic. Sweet are the band I thank for getting me into rock music.....that song is as cool and fresh today as the day it was released.....Great vocal harmonies that Queen, shall we say clearly 'knew of'' when they began.....RIP Mick and Brian.

  • Long live The Sweet!!!!!

    Cheerz from Argentina!

  • All I wanted in 1974 was a Raleigh Chopper and I never got one. Like Brian says, 'you know, you know it ain't easy'. Hard times, tough lessons, But the Sweet - superb band.

  • One of the 10 Best songs ever!!!!

  • 35 years later, Sweet still kicks ass, big time!

  • ich liebe es noch immer...... SWEET forever !!!!!

  • Great times! Relive the good ones and times in our memories

  • They were one of the top 10 bands in the 70's and they are still worthy listening to +30 years later ..

  • Remember this in 1974. I was 10. 74 was a great year for music. Bring back the seventies

  • This lives.

  • this is great

  • Fantastic song. Shame they didn't go on to do more like this. Love the restrained little guitar fills Andy puts in, that's what makes this song for me.

  • @bigmatt1724 Yep, one of my favs too!! There's a good clip here on youtube of them doing it live which showcases their harmonies brilliantly!! Long live the Sweet!!!

  • lml-_-lml

This band is so under rated! it could have been in the top 10 best rock bands ever!!!

  • THEY WERE ,and for me still ARE !!!!

  • best glamrock ever THE SWEET RULES

  • one of the greatest glam rock bands my favourite sweet song along with blockbuster

  • One of the greatest bands ever.

It's a shame that stuff like SET ME FREE, SWEET FA, and MISS DEMEANOR are not better known.

Saw them live a couple of times in the 70's.

Scott and Tucker are/were amazing musicians.

  • yes idd!

  • One of the greatest bands ever...

  • My friends and I would cut class and head over to the student parking lot to snort crushed cross tops and drink cheap wine, beer or the occasional vodka we'd steal from our parents. We'd listen to this song on the 8-track player that used to come equipped in a '68 Ford Mustang this redneck named Todd used to have. The Sweet was the pinnacle of cool back in those days. The dorky kids listened to Zeppelin, the Stones, the Who and the Beatles. We had the Sweet, Slade, the Bay City Rollers and Kiss.

  • Hah! TOTALLY, man! I hear ya! "Dazed and Confused" (the movie - 1993) I LIVED IT. lol One of my fave Sweet tracks of all time! : ) The mid 70's RULED!!

  • I miss the mid 70s. That was the brief shining moment in the sun. No AIDS or even Herpes back in those days. It was just a great time to be alive. The part of "Dazed" that made me laugh the most (because it was so true) was when they sent the kid to get beer. It was 18+ in those days and they never asked for ID. You could have been buying for your parents, after all. It wasn't until a bunch of bored housewives in the 1980s that things changed. Great comment, man!

  • cool old school

  • Amazing !!! Was 12 when I heard it the last time.

    Love them.

  • this is awesome!! i grew up with the sweet and saved up my pocket money to buy their singles (couldn't afford lp's!) and have my nose pressed up against the tv if they were on top of the pops. . . . happy days!! thanks for sharing.

  • Great stuff thanks for putting it up!

  • this i such an awesome song!!

is it true that it was played at brian's funeral??

  • I didnt know he died what loss brian is

  • Glam-Rock? No, they were real rockers.

  • I just love Andy's voice in the background of this song (and many others). Many talk of Mick, Steve, and Brian, but little seems to be said about Andy.

  • I would say the reason is, many consider Andy to be behind Brian's immense insecurity as a singer - and indirectly I suppose, at fault for Brian hitting the bottle, leading ultimately to his death.

There's no denying though, that Andy Scott is an absolute genius on the guitar, all of his riffs, melodies and solos are fantastic and of course he was responsible for many of the band's biggest self penned hits!

Long may they be remembered - without all 4 members, Sweet wouldn't have be so SWEET!

  • Okay so I'm definitely in love with this song.

Sweet are totally thee greatest band ever!!

    P.S. Yay! First comment. =]

Haha had to brag for a sec lol.

    *xoxo*<3
