  • To be honest, I used to twitch my nose like Samantha. I was always disappointed when nothing happened, except for a sore nose.

  • see what happens when your name is 'dick'?...lol.

  • This show still holds up evewn though its almost 2012 and elisabeth montgomery just would have had her 75th birthday!!!

  • Whats her name

  • Never liked this show. I just never found it funny.

  • i could never do the nose thing she does XD

  • @Animalcrossing95 : Nobody could - even the little girl who later played her daughter Tabitha had to use her finger to move her nose.

  • Home sick from school in NY circa 1980!

  • One of my favourites from the classic sitcom era. I still watch it everyday on TV.

  • sure was a great show

  • The theme song was great ! And so was the show.

  • Correction that's 19 idiots.

  • i love it amazing a good memories

  • Back when tv was good!

  • DO A WEB SEARCH ON:

    charles h. miranda OR:

    charlesthepoet2003

    THANKS.

  • Dick York was more entertaining...his manic eyes and wiseguy mannerisms made him look like he was about to go postal at any moment, so he was an excellent foil to Endora. Dick Sargent in comparison seemed too nice (or dull) for the role.

  • @baraxor I liked Dick York better too. Sargent was too laid back and didn't get upset as easily.

  • why are there so many non-applicable comments here? weird!

  • how come the theme song gets cut off at the end?

  • @No1KCfan6 this version of the theme song when it originally aired back in the 1968-1969 season, was a sponsored theme. Normally sponsored by Kodak, the announcer would come in at the part that is cut off in this opening when it went into syndication. There is a video of it uploaded in its entirety with the sponsor tag as well.

  • @No1KCfan6 exactly.

  • @willowbreeze121 I didn't even read your essay, as I don't give enough of a shit

  • AMERICAN DAD IT WAS WITCHES

  • @willowbreeze121 Totally agree. The CGI is nice, but it just can't compare to stuff like this.

  • I am from the future (2050)

I would take 3D over holograms any day. Every tells me that i should keep with the times, but I am like no, Lady GaGa and Justin Bieber are amazingly classic!

That's what people will say in 40 years!

  • im 18 but i remember watching this with my mom at the age of 8 :)

  • 0:37 video: Introduction to 1964-72 ABC-TV situation comedy Bewitched; stared Elizabeth Montgomery (April 15, 1933 – May 18, 1995) as witch Samantha Stephens who marries a mortal and tries to lead the life of a typical suburban housewife.

  • I miss this show. ):

  • @willowbreeze121 hanna -barberas work :)

  • @willowbreeze121 Uh oh !! Well, I didn't say that you said "the animation was crap", but I dont want to get into it any further with you. I have deleted that previous post of mine, and recomend that you do likewise with that reply of yours. How about it, let's just say that this little exchange never was ?

  • @willowbreeze121 Here you!! .. Calm down!! Dont have a cow and dont embarase yourself here!! Just take a deep breath, alright ?! A very deep, .. DEEP breath !

  • @willowbreeze121 true !!!!!! I love the American TV series of the 60s and 70s and 80s because they are the best !!!!! these days i'm seeing Bewitched! when I was little I could see forever!is beautiful!!thanks for this wonderful show!! a big hello from Italy !!!!!!! sorry for my incorrect English!

  • @willowbreeze121

I would rather have a wooden box than a flat-screen any day, even though I'm a young kid. 60's kids had it all: real music, records, The Munsters, Bewitched, The Addams Family, Jeannie, The Flintstones, and much, much more!

In fact, at my house all of the adults have cell phones(I don't want one) and they have to tell ME to keep up with the times. It's hilarious!

  • @DisneyBlackJet; If you like 60s culture and dislike some modern stuff, that's fine. But if you never actually lived through that era, I'd be wary of conclusions like "60's kids had it all" on the basis of the popular media that tends to only emphasise the good bits and forget the boring or downright unpleasant aspects. (This applies to 70s and 80s nostalgia too; I'm only(!) old enough to remember the 80s myself!)

I'm not having a go at you so much as saying, don't over-idealise any era.

  • @NotATube He's right though because in the 60s everything really was more simple and laid back and it had it's downsides like every era but this particular decade was really optimistic and joyful. We weren't in debt and the economy was booming. It was just a fun time to be in!

  • @boffinme80; and in the US black people were still struggling to achieve their civil rights, and young people were being drafted to fight in Vietnam.

I'm not saying the 60s (or any other era) was all bad, just that "60s kids had it all" etc. by people who didn't live through the time (based on a crap-filtered pop culture) is overly simplistic.

I note that DisneyBlackjet enjoys the benefits of being able to discuss such things through YouTube. Couldn't have done *that* in the 60s!

  • @NotATube Not everyone went to fight in Vietnam, as it only occured over there and yes blacks were struggling but by the 60s the Civil Rights occured. I'm British so the 60s was without a doubt the best decade for us. The 50s were also great (1954-) but the 60s were absolutely magnificient.

  • in the 60's kids from the UK loved this tv show is was one of the best

  • Well... All the CGI in the world and two more Industrial Light and Magic won't make for a resourceful writer and good actors...

  • Man I used to LOVE this show!

  • Samantha and Jeannie are still two of the hottest women characters ever created.I always felt that Derwood and Major Nelson were the two greatest twats on TV for being grouchy about having magic pussy at their disposal, and having the willpower to ever leave their homes.

  • How I miss this tv show, thanks to this show i started to love the magic...

  • lol

  • ajajajajjajajaja 0:22 ajajaja DICK

  • i miss this show :(

  • @shortgirlpoly its on TV land around noon

  • i wasn't even around when this was on and i miss it!!

  • @totara8 how bout she was sexy as hell.

  • This needs to come back to TVland with I Dream of Jeannie, Munsters, Addams Family, That Girl and Get Smart. I don't know if this show was ever on there but they should have Twilight Zone, too!

  • Myth Busters needs to do an episode to see whether or not it is possible to ride on a broomstick. I've tried and as far as I can determine it cannot be done.

  • @SamonMarquis go on a higher ledge lol hahahahhah ass hole

  • just love this show, wish TVLAND would bring it back,

  • @32fordcoupegirl I know! it doesn't come on at 4 in the evening. They just flip flop with the show at schedules. That is usually a sign that the show will be taken of the network soon. I hope not.

  • Christine O'donnell?

  • My all time favorite!!! I am one of them!!!

  • @starofthemoon2002 after seeing her in lizzy bordan, holy shit she started looking scary as hell to me. she had those deep crazy but pretty eyes.

  • poor sami...she had a husband who was gay...an uncle who was gay...UNCLE ARTHER....and a mother who was a dike...ELDORA...

  • GREAT Show. Which Dick was better? well, i like them both.

  • @jsicolts i liked the first darren, the nosy neighbors was awsome and uncle author lol ahahhahah, i did'nt know elizabeth montgomery passed. wow

  • Samantha in our hearts!

  • There are 18 idiots that watched this!

  • @ssjoker 19 u forgot to count ur self hahahhahah

  • @boomcc1 ummm i enjoyed this show. my cousin dosent. thus the comment. so if you count her then yes 19!

  • OOOh! Drop dead gorgeous song! Lots of punch in the arrangement, compression, EQ makes it cut through anything. And it's in GLORIOUS MONO! TV show music nowadays has no balls, no thanks to digital.

Flying Nun is another utterly fantastic theme.

Thanks a zillion to the poster. Harlan346 :)

  • I am sure all of you remember this show !

  • I dvr this wonderful show from the tvland channel.

LOVE the whole cast especially Samantha & Endora (LOVE Agnes Moorehead).

  • WOW! I LOVE IT!

  • This was a cool show! I loved it. ShAWn

  • Excelente!!! :)!!

  • i watch this show all the time

  • Shows back then were cheesey but they are much better than the new shows now.

  • One of my favourite shows growing up .

  • I so miss you Samantha, and Aunt Clara, and well, everyone. Namistae. Merry Meet, and Merry Part, and Merry Meet again. Blessed are you Sister!

  • it was good time. when you lose the things you starting to understand how important for you it was

  • @leparditas OH MY GOODNESS. SO THAT'S WHY PEOPLE ARE SO NOSTALGIC.

  • I hate the tv series Bewitched, not the movie from 2005, i like the movie but not the series. You are an ugly evil bitch Elizabeth Mongomery.

  • I love the TV series! I used to watch re-runs onTVLand of Bewitched, The Munsters, The Brady Bunch, and I love Lucy when I was a little with my auntie! Brings back some good memories : ) I'm only 19 by the way, and I loved these shows I still do and watch them when I can.

  • @ArEaCoDe619 Oh, and The Adams Family, can't forget that wacky family. I lived and died for them.

  • my god that dick york cartoon looks like jim carrey

  • I watched this coming home from school. It is bullshit now and it was bullshit then!

  • i miss this show!!

  • One of the greatest, kindest, and most human -friendly sitcoms ever made- And it's storyline, revolved around a gorgeous witch, -ironic, A great cast of artists.

  • Why can't new shows be so good? RIP Lizzie!!

  • Dick York as Derwood LOL!

  • lol dick york

  • Gosh i miss shows like this. Liz Montgomery was a fox. I had the biggest crush on her.

  • i hate it

  • I love this show. I am watching it right now on TV land. :)

  • this is kewt. <333 :)

  • Me encanta!!

  • Why is it PG? There is nothing inappropriate in this show

  • Another great show from that era. I don't feel that old but they don't make shows that way today.

  • Umm Bewitched is supposed to be TV-G not TV-PG and in Canada it's supposed to be G

  • I'm 13 and this is my favorite show!

  • I thought it was just an "OK" sitcom thats all.

  • watching bewitched and i dream of jeanie is the best way to spend a day with nothing to do! what ever happened to quality shows like this?

  • Liz Montgomery died of colorectal cancer may 15 1995. Agnes moorehead died of uterine cancer in 81. And stop makin fun of her name.

  • tee hee her last name was moorehead

  • this was later on in the series...I like this second opening...brings back memories!

  • how did she die?

  • Elizabeth Montomery looks very hot in her cartoon form just as well as her human form

  • i luv bewitched

  • My sister really liked Samantha. Andorra did frighten us. It was a great serial and we where very sad to hear about Dick York's and 'samantha's (don't know the name this moment) dead.

I was a very small girl when we watched it in the tv. I was afraid of the person who flew through the star sparkled heaven and believe it or not, now in my mid-forties I still dream sometimes at night about women flying under that starry sky. :)

  • Iv been thinking about watching this show but it seems so old and the oldest shows I watch are from the 1990s but it looks good..someone reply to tell me whether I should give it a try :)

  • Rest in peace Samantha. We miss you!

  • @IamHelenKeller Did you know Liz Montgomery was an alcoholic

  • @livinlarge18 No i didn't know.....I hope she was happy at the end. :)

  • @IamHelenKeller I think alcoholism and her many husbands were the reason she got cancer

  • @IamHelenKeller is she dead?

  • @ilovelibertyTYC - Yes....sadly, she passed away about 20 years ago, I believe.

I think she died of cancer : (

  • @IamHelenKeller That's so sad :( I should have seen that coming, since this show came out in the 50s and she was probably in her twenties which would make her about 80 now, but still... sob

  • @ilovelibertyTYC She was in her 30s.

  • @IamHelenKeller 15 years ago, more exactly.

  • @deusirae76 - Yes.....She passed away May 18, 1995. ( age 62. ) :

  • I think I like and I want to watch it. Do you have all Bewitched completely seasons 1 to 6 with subtitles in English?

  • I was only a boy when this first came out but I fancied Elizabeth Mongomery like mad!!!

  • I LOVE his show, I see it every night at "Nick at nite".But i can't belive Elizabeth (Samantha the witch) died. =(

  • Poor Samantha Stevens - they switched dicks on her smack in the middle of her tv marriage. or is it lucky Samantha? lol

  • ha! nice one

  • Samantha would pretty much win the catfight over jeannie. The reason is samantha is a little more experienced and responsible. Plus has a powerful (and often annoying) mom and dad and daughter Tabitha by her side. And let's not forget (even though this is off topic) that the show was longer (1964-1972), had the most episodes (254 ep.), and was more popular at the time.

  • @ag06ca her and laura petrie were the spokeswomen of capri pants!

  • Lol tht previous comment made me laugh !! :P i think bewitched is just great ! ! !

  • I Liked the old Darren Stevens better. (or should I say Derwood? LOL)

  • @LadyRedeemer dude i always thought that too!!! lol the second darren is kinda mean and an asshole to Sam, but the first "Derwood" was awsome, idk what happend, he should have never left.

  • @LadyRedeemer Me too. I din't care for Dick Sergeant, the second Darren.

  • @LadyRedeemer Yeah the first Dum-Dum was so much cooler, even though he was funnier looking, but that only made him more comedic to the audience.

  • Who will win in a Catfight?

    Her or Jeannie

    Whoever wins we win

  • jeannie can disappear and reappear

    so can samantha

so it depends on who has more power

yup sammie would win in a catfight

she's stronger and she's got tabby

    and endora as backup lol

  • I love watching this show

  • @goollege - what's with all the ad spamming I see lately from multiple channel id's? Who's paying you to do this ?

  • Comment removed

  • I wasn't born when his show was originally on but when I would get sick and had to stay home I remember watching the reruns on channel 9 after the Bozo show. Those were some good times with grea tv shows. Just not the same anymore.

  • Oo

    LOL

  • Comment removed

  • NOT!

  • what little gay boy wished that he had samantha's powers? i know i certainly did. this was one of my favorite shows growing up and i'll still watch it when i come upon it in my surfing! r.i.p. liz.

  • YAY STEREOTYPES

  • why on Earth would Bewitched be PG its supposed to be G

  • I seem to remember that the Kravitz house became the Partridge home in the 1970s.

  • The show was often hilarious, the guest stars on the show were also great, Paul Lynde, Eudeora as the mother in law, they were really gifted in the art of making people laugh.

  • I remember the episode when Endora popped a brand new 1966 Chevrolet Impala Convertible into the living room to piss Darvon off, as Samantha shrieked MOTHER!!!!!

  • aii.... noo maa zuuperhiipermewaa qiieroo eza seriie suuper lindizimaa¨!

★45th aniiversary... hbd! my bewiitched!* (8)

  • The best show ever!!!!

  • Where did you get that nonsense from? she wasn't banging anyone, she was an accomplished stage actress at the time she was offered this show, after it's run she really never liked discussing it. It type casted her for years after, she had done a few other Television programs prior to Bewitched.

  • wow!!! LIKES!! ;)

  • Liz Montgomery was MARRIED to Bill Asher!

Dick York (Darrin #1, 1964-69) was quite heterosexual.

Dick Sargent (Darrin #2, 1969-72 - he was the original choice for the role, but was otherwise occupied in 1964) was gay.

  • I allways remember one episode when Endora was trying to figure out why she was so nice to Darren...and confronted Sam on putting a spell on her...Sam's Responce of "Who me?" was funny.

Endora had no problems putting spells on Sam to teach her a leason..but had issues with it. if it was done to her..lol.

  • Ага! правильно!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! я тоже так думаю!

  • I used to sing bewitched....bewitched....bewitched....bewitched....bewitched....

    When they played that tune

  • same same !!!

  • One of the best series in the world story!

    I loe the intro!

  • Great work Jantv81

Where are the quotes taken from?

    Keep it coming guys.

My friend is holding on to the mouth theory!

She claims to have heard an interview with Montgomery who says she twitched her mouth!! ( no reference)

  • Have a bet with a friend.

She stupidly believes that Elizabeth Montgomery was famous for twitching her mouth.

I am trying to educate her about the nose twitch.

    Independent comments or support appreciated.

  • The nose twitch is famous. Liz and her husband William Asher were trying to think of clever ways for her magic to work. She inenvertenly "twitched" her nose, and Asher asked "What did you just do?" Liz replied "What are you talking about?" Asher said "That's it. That's how we're going to make the magic happen."

  • LOVE IT!!!!!!!

  • in usa the rate is 60 in ca it is the same thing

  • That series has run in Germany, too. They used this 3rd sesason intro throughout the run, even the seasons with Dick Sargeant as Darrin. They just changed the name and never used the newer intro with an animated Dick Sargeant.

  • I think Darren looks like Jim Carrey a lot!!

  • I never thought about that until now. I had to take a good look, and you're absolutely right!

  • Hey aretta84,I agree with you about Dick York and Jim Carrey.Jim should had been put in the movie and not Will Farrell. And Reese Witherspoon should had been Samantha, not Nicole Kidman. They should had stuck more with the format of the TV series than changing things. When Dick York had to leave the series due to a back injury,Agnes Moorehead was angry they moved on without giving York time to get well,She did not like Dick Sergeant as Darrin.

  • I always liked the Darren with the big ears! Dude was funny.

  • Liz Montgomery was a babe

  • Used to love this show as a child! really miss Elizabeth Montgomery who was a great actress.

  • lol my father kept the VHS from this series and even not being from my era, I loved(and still love) to watch it. So sweet and magic! Absolutely superb.

I always liked more Dick York than Sargent. Aw... lol and dad always said mom's mother was just like Endora! XD

  • can somebody send me the download to this song, if i give you my email??

    thanks!

  • I used to love this show as a kid. *****

  • u can watch this original show on wgn america
