I love this song as well I think Stevie read the book Rappacini's Daughter and got the image of the song from the book but in Stevie's version she is singing about a garden of excess, to much money to much fame and drugs all the trappings that come along with fame and fortune if you get a chance to read the book it's a good one but Stevies song is h so much better!!! love it!!!
@nelsonr32 I never knew that Stevie didn't like SYW ? Do you know why ? But I completely agree, it's a brilliant album, and this song is a shining example of that theory !
@stl49erfan YES! This is one of the best Mac songs - EVER! Stevie delivered such an amazing vocal and Lindsey crafted a superb track to accompany it. THIS song should have been a single. THIS song should have been recorded by Fleetwood Mac (or by Stevie herself) for an album years sooner. Imagine this great track on Tango In The Night or for The Dance. With Lindsey's Steal Your Heart Away, this is my favorite FM track of the last 20 years! Rock on Stevie - rock on!
I think this song is utterly amazing, but I'm a bit bothered by Lindsey's obtrusive riff in certain spots -- when Stevie sings "and so you run towards," specifically. This had the potential to be the best FM song ever recorded, but it misses the mark. It's still one of the best songs Stevie has ever written.
@tlinn50 lindsey i felt was always jelous of stevie. she making it bigger than him. she to me is the most sucessful of all the members of fleetwood mac. and she always will be.
Fleetwood Mac still rocks !!!

I always find it a shame that Stevie Nicks doesn't like SYW. I think it's got some of her best work on it.
