  • he doesn't even look like he is trying... shows how good he is when he doesn't need to try to sound good while singing live

  • this is a powerful song

  • people back then were real. before computers, cell phones, etc

  • "Whats with the Black, You look like your going to a funeral?" "Maybe I am"

  • this guy is awesome.

i love all boys named sue.

  • what are you talking about

    He has an AMAZING voice

  • One of many songs that he sings that has more meaning than anything after his generation. His stories hold truth.

  • 12 people wear loud Hawaiian shirts and pink sandals.

  • he doesnt sing he talks :L

  • @xBraaDy not true

  • @xBraaDy With a voice like his that was realy enough, luckily he didn't do that type of "song" from the '70s where they literaly just did talk, there was always at least a bit of singing there, often more. Whether he spoke or sang people certainly listened!

  • wow...just wow..

  • inspiring,,,,moving and totally genuine....johnny cash...a man with a real heart...

  • Agreed. He has not much to offer musically, meaning he doesn't have any awesome and original technique and neither does he have that much of an extraordinary voice. But he has something. That "something" that makes him awesome. Not style, not the lyrics, don't know what. Just "something".

  • I LOVE Johnny Cash. God rest his soul.

  • I could listen to his passion all day long. This has always been one of my all time favorites of his music. I am proud to say that my son and daughter both love Folsom Prison Blues and Ring of Fire.

  • i love that part how he sings like he just speaks and than he sings like he has to die in moment :)

  • WHEN I THINK OF CLASS, I THINK OF JOHNNY CASH. RIP BROTHER

  • Johnny Cash is talking straight to god when he writes his songs and he walks in his light andd i do beleive that he will leave more of an imprint on peoples lives then any artist in today's music.

  • genious

  • just crying hear that....

  • I were it for the thousands how have died beliving that god was on there side

hell i were it for the thousands how have died BEVIVING WE WERE ALL ON THERE SIDE

  • Jonny walks in the light of God..

  • This song brings you to the truth about the american people. His story telling is the best music i have ever heard.

  • Johnny Cash is immortal. He had his beliefs and causes and never wavered. Wish I had seen him in concert. Had a chance to see the Highwaymen in Melbourne, but "Something else came up". Regretting that now. 2 of them have gone- only Willy & Kris left.

  • ily.

  • Bless your soul....

  • now this is powerful music!

  • this song is AWSOME!!!!!!!!

  • One of the best songs ever written

  • Also, the girl at 2:13 is beautiful!

  • Johnny Cash, march with us up to washington and keep our spirits high. Let's get this country back to where it should be!

  • johnny cash was my pops favorite singer and his favorite song was man in black i was way to young when he passed away and today is my pops birthday happy birthday pop i miss r.i.p i love you

  • Heard this song in crackdown 2, and glad i found a non remixed version.

  • This man pretty much summed up what I couldn't bear tell people that ask me why I where black. I've worn black for as long as I can remember. It has always been my color. Whenever someone asked me, I would just say that it feels right.whenever I'm not wearing black I feel as if I was sinning or lying in some way,or that I was hiding the truth.I wish I could have met this man to thank him for putting these thoughts out there.A friend of mine thought I got it from him. That's how I found this song.

  • It's quite sad how today this song is perhaps more relevant than ever. RIP Johnny. :(

  • This man really did carry the burden of the world on his shoulders.

  • @BeetleBUMxX He is one of few that understand gods love for people. More people need to think the way he does. It's kind of hard to for some people because their too distracted by their own world. Trying to pay of bills. Raise a family, be the expert at your job. Then there's those who are distracted by their wealth, and blind themeselves, to the world. Those who party, get wasted, or get high. These are distractions from God. If only more people seeked his love, than the world would be brighter

  • Absolutely awesome. Johnny Cash, no doubt a legend. :)

  • @trentonrucle so you are the man in gray??

  • Happy Birthday Johnny Cash!

  • We miss you.. one person can make a difference

  • at 1:42 is no music...that's magic :X

  • i always black and people used to ask me "y do you always wear black?" now i have a answer

  • @roberta2010ification I think we can be friends. People tend to be scared of the sight of me, because I'm always wearing black, and I've always got a blank expression. If only they knew that God has shown me the way he loves us all, and why he loves us all, than they would understand why. The truth is love hurts. Everytime I turn on the news, death, rape, mutalation. It will not end until we ascend into heaven. That's the day I'll wear white.

  • Vevo never has the good stuff luke this.

  • deep words

  • @herro665 nice one :D:D

  • The world needs another Johnny Cash.

  • hello, i'm johnny cash!

  • for the reckless one whose bad trip left him cold........

  • so simple, so amazing.

  • I've never seen a guy sing with such meaning, I'm not saying there's no talent in today's music but there's definitely a high degree of vanity

  • Everytime someone ask me why I wear a lot of black ('cause im a "goth" to them supposedly) I always point them to this song and they understand, it takes a REAL musician to do that.

  • The best song he has ever made!!!

    He is a LEGEND

  • every week we lose 100 fine young men!!!!

  • This man is a musical legend and I just wish that he could have stayed with us for a little while longer so that he may basck in his glory and we may enjoy his music for a longer period of time, WE LOVE YOU Johnny Cash, to death ;_;

  • Beautiful, amazing, perfect.

  • there only ever be one of this guy

  • Cash doesn't need auto-tune, but all these second rate artists today do.

  • @Fallout3Follower. Johnny is amazing, but there are still plenty of very good vocalists around today.

  • @trentonrucle That's interesting

  • Oh Johnny...Oh Johnny... Close to tears, here. Beautiful. The main reason I love country is that you can hear the words.

  • Johnny Cash. A true American Legend. RIP Man in Black

  • My dad listened to jonhnny when i was young and reminds me of my dad when i hear his music. R.IP. jonhnny and dad.

  • he is a man, more than who is brighter, great song

  • Amazing song

  • RIP Mr. Cash

  • He barely raised his voice. He barely sang. He showed little facial expression. This is one of his best performances. God bless you Johnny Cash. Someone who gave a damn about people other than himself. How alone you were and are.

  • amazing he is a ture legend RIP johnny cash

  • so relevent now...... rip johnny

  • The guy was one of a kind; there'll be no other Johnny Cash.. thanks to Youtube we can see these great clips!

  • Some of us carry on Lazarus :)

  • I hate Country but I love Johnny Cash.

  • im sad i was to young to like cash when he was alive.

  • stars you will remember, but legends never die!!!!!!!!!

  • Johnny Cash is true music. He didn't have any beats or even that great of a voice, but people listen to him because of the stories he tells. I think that everyone can agree that almost all music like this has died and replaced with horrible computer generated beats. This video should be the most viewed on youtube. For the 8 people that disliked, I hope your name is Sue.

  • @fredalbob Lol, that was genius, only true J.Cash fans got what you just said at the end there.

  • @fredalbob - The man in black had a great voice.. come on now?!?

  • Happiness through charity and love. Rest in peace, Johnny Cash - The Man in Black.

  • God I love Johnny Cash - Rest in peace - I'm only sad I didn't know about him when I was younger - at 25 I feel like I should've been acquainted with Johnny at 15! Why can't more people be like him? I look up to you Johnny and fuck anybody who doesn't like or get you!

  • ‎"I wear the black in mourning for the lives that could have been.

Each week we lose a hundred fine young men"

He is speaking about the Forgotten War, Vietnam. A true legend is what Johnny Cash was.

  • ‎"I wear the black in mourning for the lives that could have been.

  • amam brother

  • Johnny Cash is singing about the Man in Black in the tv show LOST lol

  • This song is so me! =D

  • well-off people could help the poor and down trodden by brighting up the world instead of adding to the dismal, dull, and ugly.

  • no truer words have been said

  • i love him ...since i heard one of his songs...rip...he will never be forget.....

  • Hell yah. Cash is king.

  • R.I.P. Johnny We love you from grove City Ohio. The best song writer and singer of all time!

  • Altough Johnny cash was a better singer, no one beats Bob dylan when it comes to songwriting

  • Many people say this

  • I'd say they're both on a very similar calibre, as far as beauty, cleverness, relevence, and power of lyrics go. but personally I prefer Johnny.

  • R.I.P Johnny Cash

    One of the best!

  • One of the last mainstream musicians who was REAL. He had integrity, he had morals, and he played GOOD music right from the heart. What's happened to our society?

  • Johnny Cash did have morals, but he wasn't exactly a 'perfect' person. He was a major druggie. He got over it and went clean but he did have a really bad point in his life where he was majorly addicted. He still a beast though :)

  • he sang about been human.

  • Johnny is AWESOME!!!

  • @Zardokk My friend, the last sentence was crucial. What's happened to our society? Unfortunately we are going down, until when? Only God knows!!

  • @Zardokk Exactly. Those artists are still out there. It's just about changing what we choose to listen to.

  • @Zardokk

Johnny Cash was not all about morals. He had several songs about Murder, Fighting, Drugs, and being in prison. And those were some of his most popular songs. not much has changed really... people remember the past selectively. some only remember the good some only remember the bad

  • R.I.P Johnny Cash,

    a true legend. :)

  • Legend?? more than a damn legend - total supremo!!!!! wonderful!

  • Johnny cash is the coolies legend ever

  • Johnny Cash kicks ASS

  • He is a true legend!

  • one of the all time greatest performer's.. r.i.p

  • che bella questa canzone!!! Troppo profonda! il motivo ti prende, ti vien voglia di cantrla, ma ti fa anche scendere la lacrimozza.

  • WOW STILL THE GREATEST R I P MAN IN BLACK

  • 5 Stars...

  • what a legend

    RIP Johnny

  • He's The One And Only!

  • He's the only musician I'll ever believe.

  • There is no one else that can sing this in front of a crowd and be serious about it. JCASH forever.

  • Ah yes I see what you mean. That's right, but I think he knew how to catch that emotion and even enlarge it. At this moment when he pulls up the guitar the song has really everybody in this audition under it's spell, I think.

  • It was September 12, 2003, when we lost the Man In Black. He went on to Heaven to be with his beloved June, and now they are together for all enterity. Johnny was in a class all by himself, and there will never be another one like him. Rest in peace Johnny.

  • Oh how I love the moment at 1:44. Just pulling that guitar up could cheer up the whole crowd. What extreme power this man had. I am 15 years old and to me there never was anything as good as Johnny Cash. A pure immortal legend. Tomorrow it's gonna be five years since the Man in Black passed away... rest in peace John. We miss you - but we will never forget you.

  • this is my favorite jhonny cash song

  • goosebumps

  • Love the late, great Johnny Cash! My late Mom and Dad, took me to see him in 1957 here in Memphis. I was 9 or 10 years old. At that time, he hadn't recorded most of the songs he would later become famous for. The song I remember him singing, a song that I loved then and still do now, was "Don't Take Your Guns to Town". God bless Johnny Cash!

  • so powerful!

im only 15 but i worship this man!

    he is a legend!!

music nowadays was nothing like his!

    hes a legend!

    RIP Johnny !

( check my johnny cash vids :) )

  • damn you're right.

  • I love this man.I will always love him.

I love you jonny Cash.Great song.

  • Best song ever.

  • one thing johnny always had was balls, integrity, courage of his conviction, God Bless You Man In Black, never be another

  • johnny cash is a great singer and 1 of my favourits along wi beatles great song johnny

  • No one ever saw Johnny Cash wear a suit of white! He always where the man in black!

  • this is my fav cash song. =]

  • I love how the audience applauded the line about the Vietnam war. At that time for a country music star to do that took alot of balls.

  • kmcarmo-

Yes. I see what you mean. here in Sweden there was a bomb threat to the Stadium because of that. Maybe you'd like "Singin' In Vietnam Talkin' Blues" too, about the tour John made with June to the battlefields? Chilling. Great.

  • respect to the man in black=) love his music!

  • you can tell the respect this man acquires when he sings from the way the crowd just sit in awe of the genius

    RIP oh man in black

  • too bad he is dead, i would have loved to share a few words with him, or tell him how great i think he is

  • LEGEND

  • Each time I hear this song, I have to hold back the tears. There is so much honesty and conviction in the words -- truly an inspiration. This song motivated me to volunteer weekly at our local prison chapel. Each time I feel like blowing of my volunteer commitment, I just think of my "streak of lightning cars and fancy clothes." Thanks Johnny!

  • respect to you!

  • I think this may be my faveroite Cash performance if u look into his eyes u can see the passion and the focus, and how strongly he feels about what hes saying when the crowd starts going crazy
