we fished in emerald isle and i caught my first 2 red drum in the surf 36'' and 30lbs and the other was 42'' and 38 pounds dont know if they were legal but already ate them now

when I was a little kid, I'd see the old salts fishing in the shallow water off the pier, so I thought "what do they know that I don't?" So I went and asked them what they were fishing for, they said puppy drum.

I dropped my line near them, and caught a big ass puppy drum within minutes. Always trust the old salts! They know what they're doing!
