  • I saw this fault on another TV : This is usually Electrolytic capacitors within the power supply. If you see any in the power supply that appear to be bulged. They need to be replaced

  • Did you ever fix your TV ?

I was just curious. I have the same problem on my 42LG60 (except the OSD menu problem).

  • @U2romanianfan No mate! I claimed it back on my house insurance.

  • DON'T LET SHAMSUNG SHAMYOU !!

  • Read about THOUSANDS of samsung customers that are screwed and pissed off.

Put SAMSUNG TV CLICKING into a google search and read the TRUTH about samsungs GARABAGE.

    DON'T LET SHAMSUNG SHAMYOU !!

  • 10s of thousands of people are having this same problem. They are still using the same parts in their tvs. Samsung employs some of the dummest engineering, customer service, and management in the market. A WORD TO ANYONE OUT THERE, NEVER BUY THEIR TELEVISIONS, THEY WILL BREAK. If you own one now its going to break, you will see!

  • @bgreen999 UR 100% right. I want a HDTV but I'm scared 2death to get 1 BC B4 the whole 15yr life span is up it's gonna do sumthin' stupid! I have and HD projector not exempt but ur hear of less probs w/ them. I'm gonna pull the trigger on the VIzio LCD LED 55" VF552XVT when the COMES OUT btwn JAN-Mar 2010. Costco gives xt-1yr warranty on top of Manufac Warr & vizio 3yr warranty 5yrs all 2gether. Hope fully work out any bugs in that time. I C so many new HDTV probs all brands. THis is sickening!

  • the fault is the mainboard the board that the scart sockets and tv aerial is on change that board and it will sort the problem out

  • Mine shows lines like that across the top of the screen from day 1. I got a replacment part installed by and engineer and after 6 months it came back. Since then I have been using it as a monitor for my mac and that is fine. Just the terrestrial DTV that shows the lines.

I will never get another samsung TV.

  • Maybe an OSD problem or leaky capacitors

  • Is this fixed easily? Or would it cost a fortune?

  • dude that happens to me when playing my 360 i get a wierd black faded line at the top of my screen only see it when im on gta!???

  • either the bios went off or the cable is faulty or you have electro magnetical disturbances nearby or you have problems with the power cord or anything related with it.

  • stopping by to see your Samsung issue as well...

I had to pay $564 USD to get a replacement mainboard/circuit board. I still plan to write to Samsung. I would never buy a Samsung product again...

  • DNie IC warmed.

  • What does that mean mate? Costly?

  • i had the same problem, how i fixed it? well best buy said it was a cable or video problem, so i buy brand new 100$ cables no fix.. then i went into the settings messed around left the tv off for a day and it is back to normal, i say mess around with the settings

  • Warranty has gone. Or else I would.

  • Hmmm return it?

  • Know idea mate! This tv is now sat in the spare room on the floor. Its totally broken now got a lot worse since this clip.

  • my samsung lcd tv has also got a problem.

It cant adjust to dark colours very well and it dims shade by shade and its very annoying.

any advice on what to tell the tech guys ?

  • Be careful how much you watch this TV. My LNR408

40" LCD died after 20 months of normal use. LCD panel assy. is defective and Samsung does not want to repair it. MFG. warranty is only 12 months for TV paid over $3,000. Panel costs more then brand new TV of equal quality...

  • Does anyone know why this is going on?!?!
