  • jesus nu in crucification.. movie its real

  • i thought this movie was when Judas the betrayer was going crazy and hung himself or something like that

  • this is such a highly blasphemous movie, Jesus of the bible was the Spirit lead son of God with no faulth or sin.. This movie depicts Jesus in a highly bad way and is a straight insult to christianity in whole, Jesus is the one christians are striving to be like, the salvation and messiah, the ideal of perfection.. i hate this movie because it is straight blasphemy from hollywoods antichrist propaganda

  • @Rangel316 if you hate this movie i'm sure you will hate south park and family guy.

  • @CrimsonEclipse i used to watch those programs everyday, but not anymore(except the simpsons) it didnt do me any good just gave me a crude heart that took in all the bad things and immorality they shewed, cynicism in its best! nope not anymore south park and family guy for me

  • R.I.P. Jesus.

  • When this movie was shown in my country, the christians burned down the cinemas and beat up everyone who had gone to watch it..

  • @fotsifotsi hahaha eladara

  • @iLovePrionia

    akrivws :P

  • Thank you @UndeadOutbreak! I certainly want tot see that! In fact, I would like to see any movie defined as blasphemy by the religious zombie nation

  • is the movie available for viewing on here?

  • Great trailer I really like this never watched it but I will see it.

  • @UndeadOutbreak This movie is total blasphemy. No wonder it was banned in certain countries. It shows Jesus making crosses for the Romans to crucify Jews and having human weakness: being fearful, doubtful, depressed and reluctant. It also depicts Jesus imagining himself in sexual activities. There are also depictions of nudity. A lot of it is fiction and not based Bible but rather some novel written by Nikos Kazantzakis. The only thing I liked about this movie was the soundtrack LOL !!!!

  • @senorsalazar You think Gods don't have flaws themselves?

  • I can't help but think that this trailer makes it look like an action movie.

  • i think Willem Defoe is more suited to play the Devil

  • I am Catholic and I love this movie. Some of it's kinda bullshit, but for the most part it was wonderful. It makes you think about who Jesus really was and the struggles that he faced on earth. He often questions who is and why he's doing what he's doing, and everyone keeps asking him why he's not living like an average joe- with a wife, children, and a steady job. For me this is a very powerful message and makes me think a lot about how it applies to my life. That's a sign of a great movie.

  • Only an idiot can dislike a trailer!

  • an amazing novel by nikos kazantzakis...the greek church excommunicate the writter but when he won a nobel the church refuses that this happened...nikos kazantzakis is one the best writters ever...and one of the most respectful in greece...

  • one of the weirdest movies

i have ever seen.don't really know

    what to make of it!

  • Another blonde haired blue eyed Jesus, just what we need! JK! lol.

  • @Mirani2 Hey, the day Hollywood decides to make a "true" depiction of Jesus is the day all of Hell will have frozen over! Forgive me for saying so, but it ain't happening!

  • This movie made me fall in love with Willem Dafoe, the most romantic portrayal of Jesus ever.

  • Judas in this movie is good and serves jesus instead of betraying him

  • Im surprised DeNiro didnt play jesus

  • @ToxicMayo9 Lol, could you imagine DeNiro as Jesus, he would go up to a Roman soldier and be like, "You talkn' me, are you talkin' to me!"

  • i found a letter from Dr. d. James Kennedy that talks about how he was going to make a movie about why he did not like this movie so he was going to make a movie called the last temptation of Hollywood so if you know anything about this letter let me know

  • This is an outstanding film with a remarkable cast and crew as well. Directed by Scorsese, Produced by Barbara De Fina (Marty's wife) Soundtrack by Peter Gabriel, Cinematographer Michael Ballhaus, Editor Thelma Schoonmaker,

Willem Dafoe as Jesus, Harvey Keitel as Judas, Barbara Hershey as Mary Magdalene and David Bowie as Pontius Pilate.

The visuals are simply stunning and for all the fools who left before it's ending, they missed the whole point of this great film. Scorsese's "Masterpiece."

  • how does he make such perfect circle!?

  • @ChristmasInMay011 He's a carpenter. He must know how to do perfect circles to do his proffesion.

  • @ACruelPicture Profession. And still, even a carpenter would not make such a flawless circle, there's no way. Even if they do have more practice, they use certain tools like a pendulum or rulers.

  • Pf... Got to read the book.. 515 pages, A version from 1970 in Greek.. Bored...

  • I 've seen the movie, it was decent, I guess... I am afraid, however, that some stories ''fit'' better in books, than in a film, even if it runs for almost 3 hours...

I should probably clear up that my opinion has nothing to do with the good -old -well knowed conflict: book story vs screenplay story. It's just that, in my view, that book's meaning is not ''figurable'', somehow..

  • the Holy Father recommended this

although its about mary mag. and Jesus

  • Willem Dafoe is a very underrated actor.

  • @indiangoku This is a very underrated comment. thumbs up!

  • nikos kasantzakis one of the best writers of all time in one generation of great greek writers , butt to read and to feel all his uniq work it is preferable to learn greek, his book can not be translated easely for me, it is loosing the beauty of the words....

  • you mess with DaFoe you got to go!

  • Catchy drum beat.....almost sounds cuban.

  • @TranshumanCyborg nope, robert powell was

  • Would an open minded but atheist person like me enjoy this movie?

  • @walkertexasranger77 Why not?

  • @walkertexasranger77 yes.....

  • @walkertexasranger77

if you were actually open minded, you might find out

  • @walkertexasranger7

Absolutely. It was made with people like you in mind. You'll love it if you like Scorseses films.

  • Why why why do the Jews kill everyone or everything that has more faith or power than them ?...

  • @turadog Because they like it!!

  • @TranshumanCyborg Totally agree!

  • Film je blasfemija , ali glazba je fenomenalna

  • Based on the novel "The Last Temptation" by Nikos Kazantzakis, the last of the great philosophers. The Last Temptation was included by the Roman Catholic Church in the Index of Prohibited Books. He was excommunicated by the orthodox church. His reply was: "You gave me a curse, Holy fathers, I give you a blessing: may your conscience be as clear as mine and may you be as moral and religious as l".For those who seek answers maybe you will find them in his work "Salvatores Dei"("The Saviors of God")

  • I'm really tempted to see this movie because of the fact that Martin Scorcese directed it and that it portrays Jesus as a realistic human being instead of the gleaming postcard image that most Christians violently adhere by. Personally, I think portraying Jesus as regular human is much more respectful than showing him being flagellated to death for two hours.

  • i love this music ,god awesomeeeeee

  • it might have happened... only Jesus would know

  • this is a very accurate film it shows us what might have actually happened to jesus when he was alive and how paul invented alot of what we know about christ if jesus were alive now i think he would be horrified that we no longer worship god but glorify him he was a great man but certainly couldnt be god why would god want to interfere in mans affairs and why does god want us to worship him what is the point what does he get out of it and why does he let people suffer horribly in this world

  • @shredmaster100

This statement makes no sense, "very accurate film of what might have happened" MIght is not an accurate word and there is no historical value to it since what we know of Jesus is from the witnesses themselves. Even your statement he was a great man is false because what you know of him came from the gospels. Why do you think he was a great man if you dont' believe what they say? Your last statements say more about your belief than anything.

  • ...

  • can u tell me plz if i can find it somewhere??

  • @Estelleeeeee t o r r e n t z

  • @Estelleeeeee t o r r e n t z

  • I love this film! A great screenplay by Paul Schrader, powerful music by Peter Gabriel, wonderful performance by Willaim Defoe (his best role ever), fantastic filmmaking, and Martin Scorsese at his very best (since Schrader's MISHIMA: A LIFE IN FOUR CHAPTERS). I have this film on DVD from Criterion and it is breath-taking (oh my god!). Check this film out if you love both Scorsese & Schrader.

  • @tapesan09 willem defoe

  • The belief of each other persons is on our hand. Sometimes God challenge us to see how strong is our faith to him, but sad to say when God puts a challenge many people get mad on what God do to them. They didn't notice it is a challenge for us to see how strong is our faith, i born as a Christian and i die as a Christian and my faith and my girlfriend's faith to God will never end forever.

  • Willem Dafoe's feet are sexy.

  • fuck every christian who tried to boycott this film.. they should burn in their ''hell''

  • @BornToDie90 Watya mean exactly man?

  • @scerm because of the nature and the message of this film fanatic christians all over the world tried to boycott it.. in france for example christian extremists attacked the cinema with molotov bombs.. here in my motherfucking country the motherfucking church has banned this film from being shown on tv

  • @BornToDie90 Oh and what's the nature and message, that it would actually be against Christians? I thought it was for Christians

  • Though I have not read the book nor saw the movie, from what I have read it actually portrays Jesus in a more human way rather than more divine and being tempted by human desires which jesus imagines himself (in the movie), cont...

  • Wiki states:

Like the novel, the film depicts the life of Jesus Christ, and its central thesis is that Jesus, while free from sin, was still subject to every form of temptation that humans face, including fear, doubt, depression, reluctance and lust. This results in the book and film depicting Christ being tempted by imagining himself engaged in sexual activities, a notion that has caused outrage from some Christians.

  • @scerm what is it you dont understand... of course this film glorifies christ and christianity's message, but there are FANATIC christians who were insulted by this earthly depiction of christ and were insulted and tried to hunt it down...do you actually know what this film is about and why its different from other films about christ?

  • @BornToDie90 Thanks for your help.

  • @scerm you're welcome

  • im afraid hes calling you a fag dude

  • @BornToDie90 sounds like you need an exorcism.

  • @baredd79 jesus fag

  • @BornToDie90 THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!! THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU!! LOL

  • @baredd79 hahahahaha! well said!

  • what is this all about? xD

  • @voyance4elle JESUS CHRIST!!

  • Jesus was a looney.

  • @18ayonuss, i am an Ex-muslim as well.

My parents, who are strong believers of islam, used to beat me for watching movies about Jesus. They told me God will punish me and put me to hell for thinking about him. Its just Bull Shit. Muslims certainly do not believe in Jesus.

Does anyone know where i could watch the full movie? it isn't available in any of the blockbusters near me.

  • Try typing The last temptation of Christ part 1 and click on the link. I dont know the quality of the video but at last u can watch the movie. That's crazy that blockbusters near u dont carry the movie, it's a great movie. Martin Scorsese is a GENIUS.

  • perfect movie... just shows what muslims think about jesus christ is same as the plans of devil... LOVE YOU JESUS! my best friend...

  • @turkishsniper that is complete and utter bullshit. why dont you actually study what muslims believe about jesus instead of ranting like an ignorant asshole.

  • i was an ex muslim... i studied qoran and then bible. then i decided not to act like an ignorant asshole anymore and became a christian.

  • @turkishsniper than how can u say that what muslims say about the jesus is the same as the plans of the devil? muslims dont believe that jesus was the son of god, only a prophet of god. thats not devil like at all i think. sorry for the outburst.

  • if u watch the movie u'll see. this movie shows jesus living a human life as u have just confirmed. merrying, making love with many women. having dozens of children blah blah... isnt it what mohammed did and many muslims claim that jesus will return and then merry and have lots of children. that's a lie. jesus is sinless! the one that every christian wants to be like.

  • He wasn't sinless... HE WAS A MAN!!!! There is nothing wrong with living a normal life.... Who the hell is to say what is a sin and what isn't?? To me a sin isn't that bullshit on the bible, to me a sin is damn child molesters, murderous, rapists, is people not having what to eat, where to sleep,... That's a sin!!!

  • BUT, the purpose of life, for a man, is

    understanding and awareness.

Man's trip to enlightenment and 'rejoining' his Creator, is beyond 'good or evil', whether Hitler or Mother Tereasa.

'All the world is a stage, and each must

    play their part...'

Don't judge the players, life is an illusion,

    but our insights are real!

And the Prime Mover, is not Santa Claus,

who watches whether you are 'naughty

or nice'! and then rewards or punish!

  • Damn, cant believe u put Hitler in the same sentence with Mother Theresa. But I respect your opinion.. It's all good.

  • I am not saying their acts are comparative

or equal. This is a very disturbing concept,

    it requires awareness and understanding.

Think and feel the concept, 'beyond good

and evil'. It is not a mantra to excuse the

will of the ego, but it might help to explain

the purpose of life and why we are here.

Gnostic, felt Christ's greatness, was he

understood the illusion. Check out also

Buddha's realization, that 'we are all asleep'

  • I understood. Only somebody with inteligence is able to combine both names and make a good point. You sound like a very interesting person. You must do a lot of research or reading. Are u from the States?

  • the concept of sin is known since the time of philosopers. base concept for sins are ethical values. these things you say are all evil. and all evil things are blamed in bible! those are known as sin. and if you go on with these arguements believe me that you wont come to anywhere. then i will reply with who the hell is to say there is no one to decide what is a sin or not. to a murderer killing is not a sin! then there comes chaos!

  • I don't want to argue with anybody. I just think that religion blinds people into comitting awful acts and then excusing themselfs with it.... and others also excusing them and sometimes even applauding what they do, only because they say it was done in name of religion. You have your opinion, I have mine. That's fair.

  • but dont forget that if someone does evil in name of religion i think that, that person is a non believer. because no true religion commands evil things. and no true religion commands to force people in believing itself. first of all we are all human and we have laws in common. religion is something special to every individual in a community. thats why i just replied to you. i believe this is fair. and if you think so why did you replied? i dont understand.

  • Why shouldn't I reply? Did it upset you? I don't get it. I was stating my opinion like you stated yours. One of the great blessings of the free world is that we can express ourselfs.

  • you are replying in a way that blames my expressions. you shouldn't do it that way if you don't want to argue... right? I dont get the point...

  • I don't want to argue, I hate arguing. Maybe I'm confusing what you're saying. I'm a little lost here. I thought u were saying for me not to reply and I was wondering why. Ok, forget everything and God bless you. Have a good weekend.

  • "He wasn't sinless... HE WAS A MAN!!!! " what is this? you say what you believe is wrong! then you say i dont want to argue... whatever. bye!

  • Don't tell me what to believe!! To me and to the rest of the rational people around the world he was a man...and no man is sinless!!!

  • i am not telling you what to believe:S i just shared my opinion. and you attacked. when i offended my idea you say "i dont want to argue". i am a rational person too. dont insult me! i have enough reasoning to study science... actually i cant see any reasoning in your behavior. why the hell do you attack someone if you dont want to argue??? i did not tell anyone believe this or that or some other thing... its all up to you! HOPE YOU GOT IT NOW?

  • Damn.... easy!!! Don't get nervous!! When did I attacked you? I think we're having trouble debating this matter. For some reason we're not understanding each other. All I wanted to say from the beginning is that I don't believe he was this miracle worker people claim he was, to me he was just a man. That's all. Why get all nervous about it?.. NO, I don't get it...

  • in that case you can just comment without replying to me... Everybody knows that there are different people and different beliefs. you have replied me and I have replied to you. and you said i dont want to argue blah blah. if you dont want to argue just dont reply... what you want is something funny. somebody says hello. you reply by saying hello then when you are asked "how r u?" u say dont talk to me... i dont want to! FUNNY. im not nervous btw...

  • i did not tell anybody like "you have to believe this". i've just commented on the video and had some conversation with other people who replied. thats all! if you want to share your opinions and when somebodyelse shares theirs, you cannot say "i dont want to argue", "dont tell me what to do blah blah...". what you want? u want me to say "ok this guys says this to me but i will stay silent!". funny xD

  • Once again we're lost in translation. When I said I didn't want to argue I meant I didn't want to fight, to insult. I didn't mean I didn't want to discuss the matter. Fine, we don't meet eye to eye but don't twist my words.

  • believe me you are insulting. first you call my belief as a "bullshit on bible". then you call me as an irrational person. whatever. i really dont want to argue. if you have questions or other things we can discuss. but dont be prejudiced. i dont like arguing or insulting too.

  • Fine, I respect your beliefs. I did not in ANY way referred to you personally in any of my outbursts. Believe me, I'm the last person in the world poiting a finger at anybody. I'm very accepting of all religions, races, nationalities... soccer teams..etc... You really are confusing me. I might not have been clear expressing myself, but I don't judge anyone in any matter UNLESS it affects me personaly. Then my friend, it's a whole diferent story... believe me.

  • ok fine. no problem. i hate people who force each other for beliefs, political ideas etc. we people are forgetting what we have in common. we are all human. i have had many difficulties when becoming a christian after having a muslim life for 20 years. my family made me really sad because of what i believe. and i hate it. i never forced them to become a christian as i do. i never told them a verse from bible. world is full of irony. u know...

  • Wow.. damn. Why did you convert? I think you're Turkish, and in Turkey the main religion is Muslim, right? Well, if you believe in what you're doing than people have to accept you and embrace you the way you are. I'm sure it was dificult for you but you stuck with it. Pretty strong. God bless you for your courage.

  • yeah people are muslim but the youth dont care much about religion etc. we celebrate new year blah blah. we are not islamic fanatics like arabic countries. however i've studied qoran first. then i studied bible. I have seen the truth about both. then i decided. it was pretty easy for me but hard for others around me:)

  • Well, what's importante is that you're happy. When people start realizing that, they become more accepting of your choice. I myself don't follow anything specific, I'm more spiritual than anything else. A have friends from all walks of life and there's an understanding between all of us. Nobody offends anyone when we're all together and nobody tries to convert each other. It works for us.

  • well... thats great:) the more people ungroup culturally or nationally, more peaceful the world will become.

  • True... after all the US is a mix of cultures so we must be able to get along..

  • what do you guys think about the movie and how much is it

  • This movie was great! It's so far from just another copy of the classic story of Jesus. This film will surprise you in so many ways!! ^_^

  • @TranshumanCyborg have you seen Jesus of Nazareth? by far the best film about Jesus' life ever made.

  • This is Pasolini...

  • A very believable take on an ancient dogmatic head fuq.

  • oooh Can't wait to watch!!! Looks Great!!!

  • Look, the power of Scorsese brought these two brothers together! Anything is possible! YouTube be praised!

  • was that Willem Dafoe narrating the trailer?

  • No. Don LaFontayne

  • oh. thanks.

  • This is a really beautiful film, for the religious and non-religious, and spiritual alike. Its just so horribly misunderstood.

  • @isildae21 I guess catholics intensely dislike the kissing part (between magdalane and jesus) and most of the part were "deviational version of bible" (well, this movie wasn't based on bible, though

  • Shit movie. Snoooozevest!

  • One of my favourite movies of all time.

  • why was this film so controversial?

  • Because a number of Christians cannot stand anything that tests or questions their faith, while others openly embrace such challenges.

  • Because Christians are fuckin' stupid.

  • wow... well thats quantifiable evidence..

  • Obviously. That's why it says to kill niggers, sluts, and other religions in the bible ya dumb fuck.

  • oh no shudder, yet another irate american telling me what my opinions should be... I don't understand where it says to kill black people, or prostitutes in the new testament... Or how "peace" "love" blah blah lead to death of other religions?

  • That racist sexist shit is in the old one. The new one does say I don't bring peace I bring the axe though. It's also an astrological map of the stars.

  • urgh.. fair enough! it's way too late to argue... I'll take your word for it.

  • How bout you stop taken peoples words for it and fuckin do some research for yourself you fucking know it all retarded fuck.

  • t was 11:30 at night, i had to be up at 7 for college, i'd been working all day. do u really think at that time in the evening i cared to argue with some pumped up septic about something that probably isn't even true anyway? Now why don't you just take a small step back.. AND GO FUCK YERSELF!

  • Actually I believe it's more used here in Ireland. Yeah actually I loved the film, bloody brilliant to be honest. When it came out here first there were priests and bishops protesting outside cinemas.

  • Hahahaha, then why are we arguing? Martin Scorsese is a fucking genius.

  • Fuck I've no idea! Yeah scorsese's an absolute legend. Goodfellas is one of my all time favourites.

  • Good point man. That movie was fucking dynamite. Taxi Driver is my favorite movie of all time. He's probably the most influential American director of all time.

  • this McNugget guy must be on ecstasy tripping.... what a dope!!!

  • It was so contreversial because it showed Jesus with* Mary Magdaleine. The Roman Church threw out the codex that spoke about Magdeleine centuries ago. It goes against ' their ' doctrine. Thats why they dont like this film.

  • Scorsese's best film.

  • Check out the soundtrack "Passion" by Peter Gabriel for this film - Peter won a Grammy in the category "Best New Age Performance" in 1990. Awesome and mindblowing Soundtrack !

  • love the ending on the credits one of the very few films that display a color instead of the normal black screen/i think it was orange/movie is good one scene near the end has slow pace but wait for the end its so worth it john 3:16

  • This is easily his most epic film.

  • Scorsese's Top 10 Films: 1.) Raging Bull 2.) Taxi Driver 3.) Goodfellas 4.) The Last Temptation of Christ 5.) Mean Streets 6.) The Age of Innocence 7.) The Aviator 8.) After Hours 9.) The Departed 10.) Gangs of New York. HE has done so many extroadinary and daring works. I cannot wait for 'Shutter Island' his fourth collaboration with DiCaprio.
  • I can. I wish those two would get a divorce.

  • I'd say... 1. Raging Bull 2. Taxi Driver 3. The Last Temptation of Christ 4. Goodfellas 5. The Aviator 6. Mean Streets 7. Casino 8. The King of Comedy 9. Bringing Out the Dead 10. The Departed HM: Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, After Hours (I hate myself for not being able to include these, really underrated excellent films)
  • No Kundun?

  • the book is ALOT better

  • Capolavorissimo!

  • This is FAN FICTION. I don't see why people get so offended. It's not meant to be portrayed as true; I think anyone who walks out of this film believing it is retarded; that's like walking out of "Star Trek" and saying "So THAT'S how to make a ship go at the speed of light!"

  • This film is FANTASTIC! And I say that as a devout Roman Catholic. It explores how Jesus was BOTH human and God. We get to watch him become the messiah, then experience temptation to be a normal man, then give it all up again, to save mankind. It did more for my faith than most church services.

  • You guys should watch Jesus Christ Super Star as well!

  • I finally watched the whole thing. I cannot see what all of the protesting was about. The movie just explored his temptation and his final decision to follow his destiny. If anything it reinforces the belief that Jesus CHOSE to fulfill his role as our savior.

  • everyone forgot that Christ was never tempted by sin because there was no sin in Him. He came for one purpose and one purpose only, to save mankind from their sins. I started to watch this movie online and had to turn it off. Passion of the Christ was so much better

  • rotfl

  • Passion of the Christ was a snuff film

  • no, you're thinking of The Passion of Christ... when it comes to "torture porn"

  • he had no sin, but was tempted. he did not give into temptation.
