The play was written in french orignally and they didn't change the name...and they don't pronounce the last letter usually in french. And I've never seen any connection between Godot in Ace attorney and the play's character(who never actually appears)

Godot's name actually was taken from a character in a book. It had Godot in the name. But Diego Armando is definitely where his name comes from. But it derived from a character in a book.
