I enjoy seeing extended range instruments being used musically. There is a current trend of mediocre musicians who think the lower the note they can chug to simple double bass accented rhythms is acceptable replacement to riffing. Educate yourself, and learn the importance of melody. Chugging cannot replace musical melody.
@MrBeastamonium871 That's like saying Buddy Rich doesn't come close to Navene. I mean, you can't compare the classics to the new generation. They're both revolutionary.
@MrFISTFULLOFFUCK djent, i dont know what its happening, this is jazz, this is metal , this is progressive , but djent ? i dont think so , maybe circles, periphery, bulb but i insist that tosin abasi , animals as leaders isnt djent !!!! its just my opinion
The way I think of it is: the axe-fx can only use and process the frequencies your pups provide. Emgs are very evenly voiced. You get well balanced frequency from all ranges. So they do matter. Right?
@ibanezman hahaha, assuming assuming. "Taste" in music is such a joke man, you sound like a complete hipster tool. (I like the color blue, do I have no taste in colors?)
@SMWhit3out The real joke is you stating that this "has no groove" as though it were fact. That's complete ignorance. The musical style may not be your cup of tea, which is fine and understandable. However, coming on here like a self-important, stupid ass piece of shit, like you are, and saying this "has no groove" is the tasteless aspect of your remark I was referring. Go fuck yourself.
@ibanezman You sound like a self-important, stupid ass piece of shit trying to convince someone that this track is the shit. He doesn't feel the groove, you claim there is such. Both are just opinions, while you sound like you you are "the man who knows the fact" that this here is the grooviest shit. What makes you so sure that this track is good actually? Just because you like it? Because he's so technical? Because it has odd time signatures? None of these guarantees that a track would be good.
@snupcho Haha, what a fucking douchebag. I never praised this track, ever. Read my comment if you even possess the ability. I personally think it's stupid when people ridicule other people for their musical taste. That's like calling someone an idiot for their taste in food. I literally state that if he doesn't like it, that's fine. If he doesn't feel the groove, that's fine too, odd time signatures are hard to grasp. He stated that it "absolutely" did not have a groove.
@ibanezman I don't think that this is the "grooviest shit". Nothing makes this track good except for personal opinion and I'm not ignorant enough to think that technical ability and odd time signatures or even that fact that I like it is enough to make it "good". I simply stated that his comment was stated as fact, when it's clearly not. So go fuck yourself before making asinine conclusions about what others say. It's not their fault you can't read and reason. You're a stupid cunt.
@ibanezman Haha being badass in an youtube comment is so entertaining. My point was that you disliked the way he said "this has no groove" like he's stating a fact in a self-important way, but then you replied to him in the same manner, telling him to fuck himself and judging around. I read carefully what you wrote and stating that if someone doesn't feel the groove in this is "complete ignorance" is the problem. And odd time signatures in this track are not difficult to grasp at all.
I wonder if you remove the metal drums and add jazz drums, wouldnt this be all like jazz? Im little curious I dont listen to jazz much but some off I've heard seems relax and melodic.
@vincentXXX666 Actually yes. Jazz and progressive metal share a lot of Chromaticism, or the ability to deviate from a diatonic organization. Check out some of Emil Werstlers lessons on how he incorporates Chromaticism and it'll help out a lot.
Tosin Abasi is rly great... But when it comes to gear... Take a look at the box with a green display behind Tosin. That's Axe-Fx Ultra. Try searching YouTube for the examples of it's work. When you have this, it doesn't matter which model of hi-end pickups you're using.
@TonyThrash94 that literally could not be any more false. Just because you have an axefx does not mean qualities of the pickups are suddenly null and void. Its an incredible unit but to the ear you can definitely hear the difference in which pickups you use on your guitars
Some people say 8 strings arent guitars, and people who play them are stupid. I believe they are amazing sounding instruments, and Tosin Abasi can kick your ass at playing a 6 string.
I love this guy. There are a lot of bands with 8strings out there, but they seldom use the high notes. This guy uses the full range all the time. nice!
"As seen on music" even music can't classify itself as the latter because it would involve a paradox that would open up riffs in time. This children is what is known as the tosin paradigm.
@HankHillshred djents as far as finger placement goes is really just a root, fourth, octave, and octave of that fourth. theres other variations and the different tunings make the formula different but its not really a new technique. its just like a stacked power chord kinda like what korn does in "got the life". they just call it djent because thats the sound it makes
@misterjingles666 yeah but korn (even though i dont like them) is the first people i ever heard do that (i know its older than them) so they were just the first that popped in my head. meshuggah is sick though
