I didn't know how lucky I was to see them live *twice* in '78. Who else could merge boogie, funk, rock, new orleans jazz, and a lil country like Lowell? No one else could come close to putting together such a badass sound. He'd have been 65 yesterday!
Yeah with backing from Frank Zappa, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Lee Hooker and all the other greats too many to mention... want tickets to THAT gig ! Go easy...

The Band was from Canada except Levon. Though we can consider them American because they did end up in Upstate New York.
