  • Our bodies constantly burn calories, even when we’re doing nothing. This resting metabolic rate is much higher in people with more muscle. Every pound of muscle uses about 6 calories a day just to sustain itself, while each pound of fat burns only 2 calories daily. That small difference can add up over time. In addition, after a bout of resistance training, muscles are activated all over your body, increasing your average daily metabolic rate... so it will actually slim the arms instead

    I have these huge arms and I want to get rid of them... but i'm afraid if I do this circuit i'll just end up with muscular and bulky arms instead of slim and slender arms....and considering I already have my deltoids showing. Any tips for avoiding this from happening?

  • @bhagu7890 no! not at all :) muscle is an active tissue that has a specific shape <3 fat is inactive tissue that you have no control over how it moves in its place, so it sags and flaps..

  • Question....So I have results...I've been doing a lot of strength training the past 4 weeks and the body changes have been VERY noticeable in my progress pictures. BUT why is my weight almost the same? I've been eating every 2-3 hours. Mostly veggies with lean meats and a serving of starch and then protein bars for the smaller meals.... I know muscle weighs more than fat but why the heck has my actual weight BARELY moved?

  • @kishluvglenny thats something only you can answer.. are you sweating after the workout is done? are you sore the next day? if the answer is yes, than you likely have enough weight :)

  • @mango92155 she uses 12 lbs; start with whatever you feel comfortable with! if you start with 10 and feel like you can increase go for it! if you start with 8 and feel like you can't do anymore, lower the amt! :)

  • hi katrina and kareena i have a question! i still have little bit of tummy fat which i have been trying to get rid of by doing cardio 2x a week and 5 ab toners (crunches,bicycles,leg lifts, kickers and figure eights which are all for abs) but my tummy is taking time to get flat. can u give me some feedback to as how i can get a flat tummy? i also eat super healthy

  • @2112mike We agree with this Mike! We do talk about it a lot on our site and in our videos. We always say 'You can't spot reduce, but you can spot sculpt!' Lifting weights or doing resistance training can target certain areas to be tighter, all while burning calories and increasing your metabolic rate. Putting lean muscle on your body leads to a higher basal metabolic rate too. We go into more depth in our diet plan on our site too :) hope this helps anyone reading! TX Mike! xoo

  • @ukdonnamarie Remember u can't spot reduce, but u can spot sculpt. The best way is to spot sculpt is to work your arms like in this workout, but to also work your entire body to gain lean muscle all over...this will then increase your metabolism and burn fat everyday!Also...to burn fat, you have to create a deficit of 3,500 calories for 1 pound of fat.  Ex: Burn 250 calories during a workout and reduce your calorie intake in ur diet by 250... that would equal over 7 days a 1 pound fat loss :)

    I try not to do bicep curls because they're already toned (from all of my college textbooks -_- ), but I still have those darned flabs.

    I would love to see an exercise that targets the little chunk between your arm and your chest. Not sure if you get what I mean, but when you're wearing a strapless dress, the little bit of flab that pops out. :(
