It's in the bible in black and white. I agree that we should not condemn ppl because we are trying to bring them to Christ. However, we shouldn't twist the word to fit our means or anyone else's. Which is what Joel is doing.
i think Joel answered that very well everyone talks about "don't judge me" and it is true the bible even tells us not to judge others. So stop judging people and let God do that.

The truth of the matter, is that God/Christ calls His followers to make judgments every day. If this was not true, He would have never added the verse below which comes from the very same passage you have cited.

Joel Osteen has taken on greater responsibility than others because of the role he plays when he steps on that stage. There's the first problem. He's a lukewarm Christian preaching a gospel of prosperity. That's exactly the opposite of what Jesus taught. To walk with Jesus take all you have sell it give it all to the poor. Then pick up your cross and walk with Jesus.

Everyone has their own ministry. He focuses on the blessings, grace and mercy of God. there are many other ministries that focus on evangelical and the condemnation aspect of the word. Then there are other's that are a mix of both grace and condemnation. It's their forte so can you truly judge them. Every thing he preaches and believes in is backed up by the word of God. He always throws in Jesus when he talks about happiness if he didn't his sermons on grace and blessings would be vanity.
He never denied Jesus. He stated that he puts his faith in the Bible that is "his way" that he keeps mentioning. His way isn't something that he just made up. Most preachers, even when they are wrong, are at the very least certain about where they stand and I can respect that. Joel is afraid to offend people when the Scripture clearly states that Christ came and would cause division between family members and nations. I do not espouse violence but if you preach the truth there are going to be people that will be offended. He wants to be liked and it is a very comfortable "gospel" he one he preaches. No commitment. Only God looks at the heart but as a Pastor and a Christian we are to preach the good news that Jesus is the way the truth and the life. We are not to be politically correct with what we say but we are to declare His message that might not be liked by some. No wonder Osteen's church is so large, it is pleasant, no life changing message, just touching the surface. Not good.

Joel knows where his bread is buttered. His answer is to not make waves that can come back to cost him pledges. He is a double minded man. He wants to appear to be a solid doctrinal Christian and at the same time to please all others. He is the classic case proving that one cannot serve both God and money. Looks like Joel thinks more of the money.
I dont see anything wrong here. I think he's exactly right on this point. Only God can see a persons heart, so it is not for us to judge. Our job is to spread his word. The only thing really lacking with Joel is that he is dominately Gosple oriented when really we need a balance of both gosple and law, But in my opinon he is not contradicting the Bible, just not really presenting everything.
So what is that telling you Jesus God and his Holy Spirit is as one. It is up to God who goes to heaven. God sent his only begotton son to this earth to die for us for God is the word brother and sister. God told us how to get to heaven by believeing in his only begotten Son of God believeing that he died for us and his blood shed on a cross for every sin we committed believeng that God risen him from the dead. So it is up to God who goes to heaven are you listening to God or trust yourself.

Those who don't know the bible shouldn't talk about it. It's obvious you haven't read it. Joel Osteen has taken on greater responsibility than others because of the role he plays when he steps on that stage. There's the first problem. He's a lukewarm Christian preaching a gospel of prosperity. That's exactly the opposite of what Jesus taught. To walk with Jesus take all you have sell it give it all to the poor. Everyone has their own ministry. He focuses on the blessings, grace and mercy of God. there are many other ministries that focus on evangelical and the condemnation aspect of the word. Then there are other's that are a mix of both grace and condemnation. It's their forte so can you truly judge them. Every thing he preaches and believes in is backed up by the word of God. He always throws in Jesus when he talks about happiness if he didn't his sermons on grace and blessings would be vanity.

He never denied Jesus. He stated that he puts his faith in the Bible that is "his way" that he keeps mentioning. His way isn't something that he just made up. Many of you are not paying attention to what he's truly saying. He said his way is God's Word. But it's God's word so let God be the judge. The only thing wrong with the interview is that he didn't answer the question and say what God's way truly is. He's too nice but never denied Jesus. When has being too nice ever been a problem?

He wants to be liked and it is a very comfortable "gospel" he one he preaches. No commitment. Only God looks at the heart but as a Pastor and a Christian we are to preach the good news that Jesus is the way the truth and the life. Im actually shocked to even hear all this about Joel 0lsteen. My bf watches him faithfully every Sunday which started me to watch him. (I didnt know about him till my bf introduced me to his program) I do like his motivational speeches but as for feeling "blessed" or "refined' as I do when I leave a regular Sunday mass.. idk about all that.. So yea. As a speaker, he may be great but as for someone whos suppose to carry on the word of the Lord.. he's not that great.

He may be positive but Jesus is the only way means that Jesus is the only way. There is no other way and he is leading many astray by his teachings. The bible condemns homosexuality, yet Joel Osteen approves of it. It is scary how many think he is preaching and teaching out of the bible - read it yourself to find out the truth - don't trust anyone - even me.
