maybe some scenes are not necessary like Jacob Elinsky kissing his student, but monolouge (mirror) and ending are worthy of watching whole movie. Somehow, this movie made me thought about many things in my own life ... damn Spike Lee & Edward Norton are masters !

I never thought any soundtrack could give me the same type of chills as Thomas Neman's "Road to Perdition" score, but this composition is mind-blowing. I cannot even fathom how one would go about writing something so melancholy, yet so beautiful.

this film really puts a spin on the world. reminds me of growing up, you're taught the good people are just good, and the bad people are just bad. but throughout the film, you see what Monty had to go through, you see his past, you imagine his developement growing up, and you can't help but feel for him. and you come to realize that not are bad people are bad. they are just human.

I don't care what anyone says. Spike is the most underrated, unappreciated artist of his era. When he's gone people will look back at his work and see how few accolades and accommodations he's earned and wonder why. One of his best work.

totally agree with u seen most of lee around 9 movies ,its mostly about character,dialogue not bout specialeffects etc, was shocked to see 6 news articles related to 25th hour and they were related to norton hayek break up,what a shocker,i think its one of the best films of last decade

This music is a masterpiece : sobre, simple but moving in an amazing way. Each time it makes my heart cry and moves me from the inside. I can't really tell why, but it puts me in a melancolic state of mind and I feel I won't ever be able to get over this depressing mood (sorry for my bad english ^^).

there are two scenes in this movie that hurt. 1. the scene on the mirrorscene on the rest room and then the last ride of father and son.

One scene that was almost unbearable to watch was when Frank HAD to beat Monty ("make me look ugly") before he went to prison. This is one of those definitive pictures, that make me FEEL human. One of the greatest films of all time.
