Robert Foxworth, old wife and the late Elizabeth Montgomery and also voice over in current transformers movies, did some films like "Airport '77" "damien omen II" among others
I watched New Moon myself and I think transforming into a much larger wolf to be interesting and the vampires.................................they look the part but thats really all, I do however think that the vampire called Emit(if memory serves)is pretty cool!
It's not really so bad if you consider that they clearly meant to try and duplicate the old way of werewolf transformations with having the acor stand there getting make-up applied shot by shot like the old ones with Lon Chaney Jr., Oliver Reed, and Paul Naschy. It's also at least not CGI. That said it isn't really intense like the original Wolfman's transformations were in that aspect. Though New Moon was pathetic. It was waaaaay too fast.
Who knows what's there budget. Maybe that's all they could do under the circumstances. Perhaps there weren't that many investors interested in the script. I've seen worse today with CGI.
@NoirHammer look at american werewolf in paris, totally fake CGI effects, bad idea and trashed the memory of the first,,,that sequel had big backing compared to this but was just as bad, which makes it worse as its bugit was better.
@jackscal1 Valid point. That was a terrible mess indeed. I have to say the only two movies that ever had the best werewolves were American Werewolf in London and Dog Soldiers, imho. In fact, a combination of animatronics and CGI would probably be the best solution for a convincing werewolf transformation, if done by the right people, which is more and more of a rarity nowadays.
Yeah I'd have to agree. I actually a much more partial to the old style of transformations like in the first Howling. To me it looks much more real because most computer generated transformations that I've seen just look so corny.
It wasn't all that bad. Basically they're attempting to do a morph-style transformation before computer technology made it feasible. So what you have is almost like a stop-motion morph - apply a little bit of makeup, take a shot, apply a little make up, take a shot... the guy must have had to sit sooo still for hours to do that.
It didn't turn out too well, but it was a clever attempt.
Worst werewolf transformation scene? Apparently You haven´t seen Darkwolf ...transformation can´t look any worst than that =D

the special effects are not so bad (yeah they are) but the worst is the bad acting.. more than a werewolf TF his face looks like he's on the toilet..

It's the same technique used by Jack Pierce in the 30's and 40's, but this one was pretty crappy, especially at the end.
