  • Actually people you CAN buy the hair online :D jus buy off of Amazon like I do. Its under 3$ there and I think shipping is like 1-2 extra dollars but you get ALLOT of hair

  • Your really hot

  • that is so kewl!

  • I was thinking about making some of these but I was wanting to add beads to them, does anyone recommend a certain way of doing this? Thanks!

  • Okay so I'm in a band and am wanting to wear dreds for stage attire, but am wondering some things (if anyone can help that'd be killer!). 1) can you bleach the dreds and dye them or will that ruin them and just get different color hair, 2) how big of a loop should be left, and 3) does hair length matter?

  • This is awesome thanks!

  • HEY WHAT IF I WANT REALY LONG DREADS? ANY IDEAS THERE? BACK COMBE TWO STRANDS TOGETHER OR..?

  • Can you make dreadfalls using this technique and just use elastic to combine all the individual dreads?

  • @MissKaylaKitty Yes, Id reccomend doing double ended falls instead of the loop (so do the same thing just don't loop it and seal each ends and make sure its double the length you want it. Then tie all the individual dreads in the very middle (unless you want varying lengths) on an elastic and you can't see the elastic after.. You could do the same with individual loops but it would take longer)

  • If anyone is looking for dreads like this or smaller, different colors or anyway i make them and sell them so you can email me and i can make them however you like :)

  • You can use SE Dreads for long hair as well, you just plait/braid further.

  • You're so cute! XD

  • hey, where else can i find the kanekalon fiber in minnesota ? ive looked everywhere on the internet, but it only sells it online, it wont tell me a store.

  • nicely done!

  • do they usually stick together a bit or am I doing something wrong>?

  • :D your so cute

  • Awh! you are so cute!!

  • Omg I love you for making purple and green dreads. My fav colour combo <3333 Thank you for this, I've wanted synthetic dreads for the longest time

  • Hey, is it possible to just use a brush or a comb instead of a pet brush?

  • you realy pretty, and i love these dreads, im gonna try it:)

  • Oh and one last thing, do u have to use a pet brush or does any other kind work?

  • This video is awesome. Really helps. But i saw in another comment that u wrote to someone in ur spit video that u had a tutorial on how to put em in when u have a short mohawk like urs. Correct me if i'm wrong. But if u do, which vid is it?

  • Thank you!!!!!

  • I like how confident you are ^-^

  • this is so much easier looking than what i had planned thanks for the inspiration!

  • PLease help me oh wise dread maker! So I made a whole shit ton of dreads, And Ive put them in a few times, But I cant avoid these "bald" spots. Basically its just a giant patch on my head where you can see the parts of my hair and theres no more hair to put dreads. How can I avoid this? Please and thank you! -Kandi

  • OH MY GOSH! I have been looking for this explanation video everywhere! THANK YOU SO MUCH.

  • Wow! im so happy I found this video again! I saw this years ago for the first time! This was the video that made me get into making and wearing dreads! I was just in awe the whole time watching this! haha! <3 thanks for making this video!

  • why does not mine look like yours??...... Sad face D:

  • you're hot

  • wher can i get white kanekalon i tried amizon but i cnt find any??

  • @yikesAnTuAn never mind so sorry i didnt reed your discription sorry

  • so i wanna make these but i want them thicker. do i jsut use more hair?

  • your so pretty you have a mohawk so do i!(:

  • the kankalon... does it come in pastel colors?

  • is it possible to do this with a basic synthetic wig ordered online? or does it have to be done with this hair in particular.

  • @mackerz16 I have done it with one, but I can't promise that it would work for all wigs. Also for contrast I recommend adding in some kanekalon to the wig. This will also help with avoiding the awkward gaps that will appear when you start sectioning the wig's hair.

  • You're so cute

  • GOD! you are hot!

  • heyy im from boston tooo and ive been to the place you mentioned. their great! very helpfulllll :)

  • Fail

  • Where do you get your materials?

  • thats so easy! you have a nice voice btw

  • She is such a cutie and this video is so helpful :D

  • i love the way u do it. its way more simple than others! love it. thanks :]

  • You have the cutest voice i've ever heard on an american ;3

  • Question 1: Can you do the same thing with yarn, instead of kankelon?

Reason being, I would think that yarn would be more prone to knotting up sufficiently.

Question 2: How do you make the dreads that are one color at the root, and another color at the base?

I want purple and black dreads as to match my purple and black hair

  • thank you so much for making this video!!! i was going to buy them online, but now that i know it's way cheaper to make them, i'll be doing this instead. thanks so much!!

  • WHERE do you get those cat brushes? All the ones I've seen have the soft stuff on the ends... I've tried Petco and the pet section at the grocery store I work at... wtf?!

  • ty for the tutorial :)

  • I like the sound the brush makes during the fast forward thing when she picks it up and down... yeah, I'm weird.

  • how many dreads can u make with one kanekalon braid?

  • @gagaloverxoxo Depends how thick you want them ;o I can make about 10 Medium thickness.

  • Is it bad to say that with the dread-hawk, you look like Germaine from Neurotically Yours? Eets Adorable. x)

  • Thanks this taught me some new ways:) also if ur wondering about the hair straighter instead of boiling It's actually "steaming" ur hair all u do is have a: spray bottle, really thin cloth, hair flat iron; So what u do is put ur dread into the cloth spray the whole cloth until soaking wet. Then just straighten it like 5 time . Just another way:)

  • this vid was so helpful!! p.s u have pretty eyes!!

  • im a guy, and im trying to do this for Powder Pudd chearleading this year (most schools dont do this, but b4 thanks giving, our powder puff team plays our cross town rivals, so the senior girls play football, and the senior guys become chearleaders) so im trying to do dreads. Thx a bunch for the vid

  • Sooo if i dye my hair like a copper ish auburn color, and by the extensions in the same color and do this, i think it would look nice right?, ooooor what would advice would you give me, my hair is almost to my back like touching my shoulder.

  • I'm just starting out with the Cyber Gother style and i was DREADING having to by alreay made synthetic dreads! like you said they cost allot of money i'm so happy you made this video ^_^ you saved me allot of moey lol

  • You are so awesome!<3<3 love u!

  • how do you braid them in? how long do they stay in ? please answer:) thanks a bunch

  • your gawgeous, thats all i hav 2 say ;)

  • right at the end frame it looks like fredricks sneeze!

  • such a simple, easy, budget forward vid, THAAANKYOOOU.. i wudda paid that chick like $70 bucks HA fuck no

  • I finally ordered some kanekalon (after years of wanting to do this) Your vid is the best I've found on youtube, i can't wait to try it!!!

  • The boil method is amazing!! Thank you so much! It was my first time making dreads and they turned out beautiful.

  • Thank you this really helps me :)

  • Wonderful ^^ thank you^^ i dont know if i'll ever use this.. but hell! i can now if i want too! lol :D

  • how can you touch it like that if the water is boiling?

  • Type TheOfficialApocalyps into the search bar !!!!!

  • if there's a beauty supply store near you, theh have synthetic hair. I know here you can get jumbo pack of kanekalon hair for 99¢ a pack. I know online you can order off Amazon.

  • where can i get the synthetic hair? can i get a link? :3

  • Can you make durable/quality dreads like this WITHOUT backcombing? Because I got the same type of synth. hair and tried to backcomb it and it was SO FAIL! >.< I'll keep trying if need be, but I've made some without backcombing before. Does backcombing improve the heat seal and make them last?

  • I'm planning on buying kanekalon from I kick shins. how many packs should i buy to make a pair of good sized dread falls?

  • Nevermind sorry didn't pay attention

  • Approximetly how much did it cost you to buy two bags of synthetic hair

  • Please someone tell me if I can just buy some like this without having to make them

  • Thanks so much for this video! I tried to make dreads the other way, with a hair straightener and a spray bottle and all of that stuff, and it didn't work at all. I'll definitely have to try this out! It looks so much easier, too. Thanks again. :D

  • Nice :D I love you idea! Fakedreads are so expencive in germany and thats why I dun have some xD

Tyvm for sharing ur idea with the world :3

  • very useful!

  • lol when your phone rang i thought it was mine xD

  • I want to know how to make actually dreads. Is there anyway you could make a video on that, or perhaps you know of somewhere I can learn? This video was great.

  • your voice is so cute!!

  • Are you using Kanekalon hair?

  • WOW ! im SO glad I saw this video. i'm literally about to run out the door and buy some hair and make some! ive been dying for some dreads but they really are expensive as hell, and you make it look SO easy. thank you so much :)

  • i tried this yesterday, but i used my straightener to seal them. it didnt do too badly, but theyre coming undone lol. but i was sooo close to buying some dread falls, im so jeffing glad i watched your vid. Thanks much =^.^=

  • pretty dumb

  • @californiacrat559 so are you :D

  • you you use this stuff to make like tails as in the kanekalon , i mean like for costumes :3

  • Hey there ! I was just wondering .. is that synthetic (fake hair) extensions? and how hard is it to get those out of your hair?

  • That was interesting!

  • if you wanted to make the falls instead the thing she wrapped around the chair you could just do a pony tail holder, it's a bit more time consuming but still effective if you'd want them to be perfect you'd have to do them 1 by 1 like she did all the way through and i would imagine you'd want to do peice by peice for the water too because they'd end up clumping together if you didn't

  • ... i like this vid :D

  • LOVE this video, it's so helpful! Thanks so much!

  • Can you use Yaki Pony Braid?? I accidentally bought the wrong shit XD

  • how many bags of hair do you usually need to do a full head of dreads?

  • Sorry I guess you did say in the video where you got yours... I was just hoping there was an online store I could order some from...

  • Where do you buy your Kanekalon fiber hair? I don't see any links on the side...

  • youu are soo pretty. I love this video, btw. it is very helpful :)

  • the boiling water dont work for me

  • Thank you!!!

  • your really pretty, just saying

  • This video is amazing <3

  • look, I think your video is great, but there are people out there like myself who don't charge insane amounts for dread falls, and think your mud slinging is inappropriate. Sure you're entitled to your opinions, but only when they are not harmful to others, or threatening their livelihood. I'm all for the D.I.Y youtube videos just not the attitude, and agree that most vendors prices ($100 minimum) is insane, and highway robbery, but it is something I enjoy doing that helps me support myself.

  • @matrixgirlTiff wow! she wasnt mud slinging at all, in fact wasn't rude or innapropriate in anyway. i think your comment is a little off and a bit too aggressive. she was just making an observation, one that you agree with in your rude comment, i should point out, that synthetic dreads and dreadfalls are expessive. she didnt threaten your livlihood in anyway. if you are any good at what you do, you should have no threat whatsoever. your comment was a downright attack! not nice!

  • Wow girl you are awesome I am totally doing that!

  • You are stunning

  • Sweet. Thanks

  • How many dreads approximately can you make with one bag?

  • @irock1676 It really depends on the width you make them.

  • Thank you for the tutorial, this is the best one I've found! Also, you're freaking adorable.

  • I have been looking around and can't find the exact color of synth hair that I want. Do you know if the kanekalon will hold cheap hair dye, such as manic panic colors? and if you have tried this what did you find produced the best results? thnx

  • Thanks for this! Making piratey dreads for a Renaissance Faire costume accessory. They are nasty and knotty for my first attempt, but that works just fine for scurvy pirate types.  ;}

  • just ordered the kk hair! : D

  • never would of thought of this. lol.

  • I'm really late bc this video is a few yrs old, but I know that store----I used to live right there in Cambridge. btw- I don't know what ur doing, but ur very good at it.

  • I'm really late bc this video is a few yrs old, but I know that store----I used to live right there in Cambridge

  • i think i wanna try this.♥

  • ur so pretty, u remind me of the lead singer of the cranberries, you're so funky. love it<3

  • Ido not like dreads. But when I see how to make it or see how to put it in im like. Oh my cool c: istill don't like dreads. But I still think it's cool c: im a strange chick

  • this has been really helpful

  • Aaaah, you make it look so easy!

  • now i want to do this

  • the whater is hot?????

  • thanks so much for making this video, it was very helpful....

and just so you know you are prolly one of the most prettiest girls I have ever seen... just saying...

  • Hey i was wonder can you only make synthetic dreads or can you buy them already made

  • does this method work with real hair extensions as well? they're covered in dread wax too from my previous attempts. will it still work?

  • u r hot girl! kiss

  • You're very beautiful; Thanxs 4 ur video

  • :D Awsome, Thank you! You're so cute too. :#

  • You just made life so much easier, and it was so much better learning from a cute girl =]

  • can you make a video on how to make dread falls? i know you might not wear them, but i just cant find a good video for that, and this video was really helpful :3

  • @ZaikaxTabi All you really need to do to make dread falls is the same thing I showed. Then thread the dreads onto some ribbon. Tie hair into ponytail bun and tie ribbon around that.

  • @zlyoga oh, thanks c:

  • @ZaikaxTabi mentalshiver has a good tutorial for making dreadfalls. goodluck!

  • i think this is wrong but can guys do this? becous that woud be weard =)

  • @micjon2 All that's required is hair long enough to braid the dreads into. Some plastic hair being attached to a person's head isn't going to not function due to gender.

  • also, about how long (in inches) are the dreads you made for this video?

  • how many dreads can you typically make with one bag of hair? i know it varies for everyone but i was wondering how many you personally can make?

  • great tutorial! i def will be making my own soon, you make it look so easy!

  • wtf

  • wow awesome dread tutorial seriously, i watched a coupleothers and didnt really like them or they didnt explain to good.

    you are awesome!!!

i'm currrently getting dreads with my natural hair and i wanted some pretty synthetic dreads with them.

    SO THANK YOU!!!!

    :))

  • hey your tutorial really helped me but do you know where i can get kanekalon in the uk because ive been looking around and i can only find it on the internett with a big p&p price?

  • I enjoyed your tutorial :)

  • making making making dreadfalls making making making dreadfalls(8)

  • how bout juss grow sum.

  • wow thatwas a really good vid thankzzz

  • Do you know of any cheap cyberloks? Is there another name for them that is a cheaper version, like the equivalent to kanekalon?

    Let me know, Thanks... :0)

(Sorry, I know you said no questions-just don't know anyone else who would know)... :0/

  • Thank you so much for sch an informative vid. I had no idea about kanekalon & how cheap it is, checked it out & they sell it here also in Australia at the goth/punk shops & other stores, I always saw the most expensive hair extensions in the windows so I just didn't bother, but now that I know of kanekalon & realize they sell it everywhere I'll be getting some tomorrow & coming back to this vid.

    You're great!

Thanks again for your time in showing us all this... :0)

  • dude. gross.

  • how do i get dread in my head?

  • Is possible to use wool instead of fake hair? Sorry for my english XD

  • One question: What if you want thick fluffyish dreads, instead of really thin ones?

  • @ResaChan Then you use a bigger about of the 'hair'

  • @Evasceration ooh, okay, thanks :)

  • @ResaChan you use more of the synthetic hair

  • Thank you:)

  • wow you have the voice of an angel. no joke

  • luckily for people in NYC you can find Kanekalon (Jumbo Braid hair) and Toyokalon ALOT of places

  • ive been wondering how to make these for so long now lol, my friends were gonna teach me, but i moved lol. thanks for making this video lol :D gonna go get my materials soon :D <3

  • that is super helpful

  • Thank you, very useful :D
