i'm not sure but if you want the best quality that you can get out of the hf20/hf200 you need an SDHC card capable of of reading memory at 24mbps.

yes. the new imovie is very capable with HD. some people even call it iMovie HD

really then why does it downconvert mine to 720 p I have to go around I movie to get my 1080p file. Are you sure people call 09 imovieHD ? I movieHD was the 2006 i movie. it can be downloaded for free if you have 09.

Me too. Good luck. Make sure that you use a good tripod, preferably one with a fluid head; otherwise the videos will be annoying to look at. Give the camera the chance to impress you by first trying it out in nice, very well-lit environments with the tripod. Also, many people's videos here on YouTube are just okay with this camera. I am no professional but I have read a lot and seen many great tutorials and tips videos. Get something called Circular Polarizer if you can. Look it up. You'll see Y

I use Vegas Movie Studio Platinum by Sony and it works well and also renders quick supporting up to 1920x1080p. Nice camera.

This looks pretty good. The only thing I can see is a little bit of noise when you are zoomed in on Gus's face when he is in the shadows. This could probably be eliminated by turning on the camera's built in light. I've been looking at this camera as well, so I was wondering what your thoughts are after having it for a bit? Anything you don't like about the camera?

I have to say that I REALLY like this camera. I returned two cameras before I decided to stick with this one. It was a really easy choice. The video quality is superb. The noise in low light is something that I, honestly, just expect with a consumer level camcorder. You have to spend thousands to eliminated it, and, even then, there is still going to be some level (though generally low) of noise. The only thing I can complain about is my own ability to shoot ;) I need practice--BIG TIME!

Video has only been up for a few minutes--it takes a while to process before video quality is the native quality and the HD button will appear.
