A good tutorial. Just a heads up, if a stick a thin, but not too thin scredirver into the opening in the back of the gearbox, then you wont have anything fly out (hopefully). Plus, the bolt on my thompson fell off the bolt plate soon after the mod.

Hey guys, Ive made this some time ago and it shredded my stock XYT crap gears. Now i have a bit more better (Element) but they suck too. This blow back is really good for reenactments but in airsoft game it can make your interior of a gun make dirty and catch sand. Its fun though :-).

King arms is going to release TRUE 1928A1 with the same as original bolt and buttstock not like Cybergun M1928 with M1 side bolt -.- I want to make it blow back :D

Other things I noticed. If you ever want to take the upper receiver off after the mod, you'll have to do the spring release from the bottom of the gear box as in 3:15 and 5:30 of this tutorial. Stuck or not. Also, There is a little plastic piece in the upper receiver holding your gun sight in with 3 screws. Use duct tape or something to cover the slit under this cover. my "push rod" jammed under it. Which is why he's saying to point it down at 5:05.

I did it without taking the gear box apart. Shoot one shot single to release the spring. When ready to do the hole in the spring guide, hold the gear box up and drill it from the rear. the drill brought the extra pieces to the back and I jiggled them out no prob. For string I used 20lb fishing line. 3 strands braided together. Should be real strong.

i have been successful and recently spent time making a better bolt(rod that sticks out from the gearbox at the rear). and made a better charging handle cuz i mine broke. but i am having trouble finding a string or rope that will last. i had 80 pound fishing string but that only lasted me three months

U have to open the Gearbox to make the hole in the spring-guide, cause the rod has to pass trough it. However, I suggest everyone who wants to mod the rifle to use nylon string and you will never have problems.

I did this yesterday, but the coat hanger somehow jammed and it took about a hour to open the gun back up again. I guess I made the loop at the end of the coat hanger too large. At least it didn't break my new Cybergun Thompson.

Its a very good mod, thompson now sounds even better! It does ware down battery, and the bolt itself wears down pretty quickly, so reenforce it! Solder works best i found. Overall very worth it, Thanks Dragon M
