  • "We do not got neighbours that want to see us prosper????" Free water from Malaysia. Indonesian & Malaysian raw materials exported thru Singapore. Joint defense agreement. This pig eating old fart is racist, ungrateful and downright self righteous/mad.

  • we accepts who ever joins us is part of us

    idol!

  • His mentor is Israel - eat, life and breath like Israel.

  • The way he speak is so much evil

  • @Davincciable HAHA!

  • @MichaelWithstand why not? LKY was the top lawyer in singapore before he joined politics. He got first class hons in cambridge and is praised by politicians worldwide for his talent. He had his own law firm. A ceo can easily earn more than 1m. What makes you think LKY can't?

  • Attract talents from overseas and treat everyone equal in other words we are doomed

  • @Davincciable well work and study harder, don't blame others

  • @albeanmagz19 yea right boot licker

  • @Davincciable ye go ahead and complain more, let's see what happens. dumb ass

  • @albeanmagz19 Um... like...you need to shut up and build yourself up as an individual first. It's the people's money supporting the government services, FOOL. South East Asian nations do not want to see each other prosper so they can prosper?...... Grow up.

  • @albeanmagz19 Im laughing at your ass , Seems like singaporean are all sitting ducks . What your job paid ?? how much your transport food cost monthly - 30% CPF lets say u bring home 2k how long must u wait to buy a 3 new 3 room flats which cost 500k took u 20 years ?? how much does it cost to get a car in singapore ?? • @Davincciable hahaha Im even more laughing. I am not even in Singapore or either Singaporean. I was just amazed how the comments are here, I was just researching some videos related to SG because I plan to visit there.

  • @albeanmagz19 Just a piece of advice.. just work and study hard and harder, if you don't like your country go out or go somewhere else. FYI I am already living in a shitty Country but what should I do? complain and rant in youtube? pathetic move man. The World is already cruel before anyone of us were born. So stop complaining too much bro, chill the fuck out! and be calm find a solution. Hope you find your inner peace.

  • @albeanmagz19 So either u work for people or do business while u work youa ass off most profits goes to the government . So Singaporean people think that government owned all the land in Singapore ?? not in other country . Singaporean are so obedient because they are all busy working without notice/or care to know what happen in your country haha pathetic . Do u know your government implement New water in your drinking water in past decade ?? so what is it added is it healthy ? go research

  • @albeanmagz19 Research if u are intrested google country with fluoride water . on wiki u can see singapore is the 1st asian country to test it out . 2nd google Channel news asia singapore fluoride , Health minister said that implementing fluoride prevent tooth decay what a joke . 3rd see the health risk of fluoride. No wonder singaporean EQ so low as u see in the news interview speaking dumb words

  • Singapore: the largest human zoo in the world

  • Buddhism is more convincing and logical than Christianity. Who can believe snakes talking, seas parting, or if you dont believe in Jesus then you will go to hell? Asians like to become Christians because they see it as a way to become more 'western'. While western people are turning to Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism to become asian.

  • Can't get it why some Singaporeans are so scared of foreigners? You should thank them, who are actually more contributing to SG development and competitiveness in the world. If you think they are stealing your job, then you should more reflect on yourself and improve yourself from all aspects. Don't be always complain and rely on your government, just like a baby never-grown up relying on his mom.

  • @tsaoYourjohn Yeah. Look at the grandiose contributions of Ah Tiong bus drivers who 1. can't converse in basic English 2. can't even find their way in this tiny island. Two yrs of NS to protect a country that doesn't protect its citizens from foreign competition. I wonder if you're the sort who throws his mum out of the house after "finding a better, more competitive mum".

  • @01Ubermensch Protection from Foreign competition? It's not the Country's fault if you fail to study as hard as other people...

  • @hobo9865 Ah yes, that trite appeal to self-reliance again. Tell me, do you report to the police when your house's been broken into? Or do you blame yourself for failing to secure your house as well as others? Did you serve NS? Why bother protecting the country from foreigners when sycophants like you don't even know what a nation is? Here you are rehashing the specious arguments of Kuan Yew while he's mocking "daft", "ignorant" sheep like you for being so easily manipulated.

  • @01Ubermensch yeah go ahead and complain, instead of spending your time studying, learning new things and working hard, just complain as easy as that, if you can't get a job - complain, if you can't find a better life - complain, blame everything on the government, nice going keep doing that.

  • OMG, the poor guy is bald as a coot. Use REGAINE, prime minister, and you'll see your hair coming back.

  • If they are talented, they don't need foreigners. They could develop Singaporeans just like how Denmark and Norway did. They talk of talent but look around you, everywhere there's filipinas, PRC and India Indians!

  • Why are ratings disengaged? Why?

  • Do you have the copyright ? unbelievable

  • Singapore dependent on Foreigners? I think that is a Stupid question. It's like saying is a car will be forever dependent on Gasoline?

  • i think the price of public transport shud be decreased gradually while at the same time the price of owning a car goes up drastically n to increase the number of trips buses made. i mean many roads in singapore are being widened.. imagine number of cars are lesser on the road, clear traffic n buses can move without much jams.. people reach their work n back home quickly.. more time for loved ones.. more time to make babies.. dun keep making us work n work n work to make money till theres no tym

  • most of the things now are actually contradicting.. we are told the number of vehicles will be controlled by making it very costly to buy a car that people will think carefully before buying. thats assuming everyone is able to think carefully rite? not everyone can. then u wanna encourage public transport system but u always wanna increase the fares n expect commuters to bear n share the extra cost incurred by rising oil prices n so on. i mean dats not fair.

  • yes we are facing strong competitors in the globalised world.. but i think the government really really need to put in effort to make singaporeans feels singaporean once again.. i feel proud when i was a boy singing national day songs on 9 aug.. that sense of belonging to my country.. but foreign talents are brought in just because singapore wants to keep up with the globalised world ? its heartbreakin MM.. it really is.. i think certain things in life needs to be controlled by the ruler..

  • @muhdfazzul

I understand how you feel fazzul... However, you will be disappointed to know that there is no Singaporean identity to begin with; which means, effectively, you cannot lose something that something that was never present. What you are feeling now is the nostalgia you felt growing up. A famous anthropologist, Benedict Anderson, defined nations as an "imagined community". The very idea of the "Singaporean-ness" is but an imagination.

  • @muhdfazzul

An imagination because you assume that all Singaporeans have a given set of values that one adheres to. This is far from the truth. It is imagined because you have never met all Singaporeans before, but you assume that we have a common bond. If you ask any other 9 yr old, I believe they will tell you that they do feel that they feel that sense of "proud-ness" you felt as a boy... It's just that as you mature, you realise that it is all but a fairy tale...

  • @muhdfazzul

Singapore is a migrant state. If there were to be a "legacy" in Singapore.. it would have to be migration. Its a fact of life. Singaporean never felt Singaporean. It is just the mere nostalgia of the past you are feeling. This is the fact of the world. And what's there not to be proud of being a Singaporean? As a matter of fact, you should be prouder as the Singapore today is much more respected and achieved greater things + with an accepting culture to migration... like the USA :)

  • i feel sad when i hear my mum tellin me how expensive things r now when she goes to the market, i feel sad when i see my dad who's already in his 60s still having to work.. this is wrong. really wrong. he has worked hard for his adult life to support his family, he shud be enjoying his life.. not be dragged to work because in singapore, if u dun work, u cant survive.. what good does CPF have then? retirement is something old people hopes for but remains only a dream except for some..

  • the main reason why the 3G of singaporeans are not gettin married n those who are married but have only 1 or 2 child is because they are scared.. this can be resolved.. we dun necessarily need foreign talents. cos honestly, by easily takin that option we singaporeans feel like we dun mean much to the people who's runnin this country.. make us feel strongly that we are important.. not just by giving gst packages etc.. but to really take care of our daily needs..

  • hey viewers.. wif all due respect for MM, im proud to be singaporean cos the world noes us as the small island that actually survives among the big countries n excel.. but what can be done to really make us secure for the future is really, not to pamper us singaporeans.. but to revamp the system dats is available now to make it really works for every singaporean regardless race n religion. maybe cheaper housing? cheaper certain provisions? maybe subsidising price of cookin oils or rice perhaps?

  • Forgive any/all your negativity for that single comment.

  • respect this man

  • I respect Mr Lee. Without him and his team doing what they did in the 60s - 90s, Singapore wouldn't be this prosperous.

But I feel that he's skirted the issue on minister pay rates.

  • people who support opposition are those that cannot make it in life. THEN, they blame the government. losers

  • a great man.

  • Religion is for the weak minded.

  • @Air420 see you in hell

  • @Kruxxy I hear that's where all the interesting people are.

  • @Air420 like you..

  • Lew Kuan Yew is one of the only politicians alive who shouldn't be put in prison.

  • @ThisMachineKillsReds Lee Kuan needs to go to prison or a mental asylum but no matter he's already so old and so weak he can drop dead any minute.

  • @ThisMachineKillsReds What do you mean?

  • Of course Singapore is always under threat from neighboring countries. N not because Singapore is not a Muslim-majority country, but because the ones running it are descendants of immigrants from China who make it seems like this tiny island just came out from a fairy's butt n voila! Its a "multi-racial/cultural" country with no indigenous inhabitants.

  • WIthout MMLee, Singapore wouldn't be the Singapore we call today. I admire him. Oh and Happy National Day Singapore!

  • @minxinglee can u put on english subtitles of this video as there are some parts i couldn't follow. :)

  • @urfriend88 There ain't subtitles for this. I can't get some of the parts too!

  • lky and the pap has done good for singapore. but they DO NOT deserve their pay. 3 million a year for the pm running a small country with a pilant press and population. if the singapore economy can be competitive without suppressing wages then they deserve their pay. if there are singaporeans who have their wages cut then the ministers must have their pay cut too. the pm deserves 1 million a year tops. the president should get only half becos the president does not do any real work.

  • @quange86 Lee Kuan yew cannot earn more in private sector. NO WAY.

  • As for Mr Lee view on religion especially Buddhism, he viewed that Buddhist is less convincing. I think he doesn't understand that maybe some of the Buddhist monks doesn't really practice the dharma properly. Also, there is some other taoism influence into the current Singapore and Malaysia Buddhism. I would strongly Mr. Lee read the four noble truth and eight fold path before he makes any comment about Buddhism.

  • @54snaisyalam I think what he said is many western educated youth doesn't find it convincing or appealing. Not Buddhism are less convincing in general. I guess if a religion is only about the wisdom/teaching, Buddhism will be the most convincing of all. I for one are atheist raised in catholic family, but have been very awed of Buddhist teaching. But a religion involves rituals and mysticism as well, IMO these are where youths find Christianity(especially protestant) more appealing.

  • I am a Malaysian. Reading Mr. Lee's latest book, I cannot agree more that Singapore is alway under threat from the neighboring country. I hope Singaporean is not that naive to think that everything is peaceful and harmony. You might disagree with Mr. Lee but he's a pragmatist and what he said is true.

  • @zafiq19 calm down, there isnt a need to go ballistic on trolls. If you fumed, you are letting them win. You cant win over ignorant bigots or supremacists with naivety and poor choice of words.

  • @epicsauuce Thanks dude , that cheer me up . what you said gave me hope .

  • we need 192 clones of LKY to make this world a better place. @100 years this man will speak only truth with conviction, rationality and pragmatism. That reporter @ muslim question got personal..that's the problem he said just before her question..

  • IS he dead yet? how come nv see him liao?

  • @97432561 I think u should die first

  • This man is a coward collaborator than an able visionary man. His vanity, ego and lust of power is probably unrivaled in South East Asia. A megalomaniac but a cowardly megalomaniac so he chooses his enemies, mostly ordinary people off the streets or some poor students.

  • If Mr LKY is really a 'dictator' to you, then I would tell you; he probably is the only dictator I admire for what he has done to his ppl and country. :) lolz

  • Opposition can go to hell

  • I agree that muslims are of big trouble.

  • MUSLIMS = ALWAYS A PROBLEM NO MATTER WHICH COUNTRY

  • @timjohan muslim are the problem? malay are the problem ? FUCK YOU , there's only 13 percent of malay and 77 percent of chinese . dont bring RACIST in a MULTI RACIAL country . MAYBE IF YOU SHARE AND STOP BEING SELF-FISH , WE MALAYS MIGHT STOP HATING ON YOU AND SITTING UNDER YOUR BLK BECAUSE WE HAVE HOUSE AND MONEY PROBLEM! remember you came to this country , malays we're the fisherman living on this island before you. not happy ? take your minister, building and shit and go back china

  • @zafiq19 But you have to face the facts what everybody in the world says about you...You stink when it comes to integration. Get your act together and stop being so muhammed maniac like.

Muslims are a problem from Singapore to USA

  • @timjohan is all you can say? i drink , i dont pray , i date chinese , malay and indians girl and i work hard and i make my living . but hearing people like you say muslims and malay are trouble . make me sick , just because some brainwash muslim guy bombs a country , you blame every muslims you know! get a life , their are 60% muslims in asia some pray some dont , but we all will kick ur ass .

  • @zafiq19 Hearing an idiot like you who will not face the reality of Islam.

It is every country islam is in muslims try to bomb, kill etc. if you speak against them or critisize them.

Islam sucks and muhammed was a pedophile. Nodoubt about that. And muslims still look up to that pervert. What a freakshow Islam is

  • @timjohan you are really a dumb mother fucker . i have never ever ever , see someone that stupid ! hahaha trust me when i say u will eat your words. and btw islam , chirstianity and jews were from the same roots but split later on . and stop stating stupid facts. grow up , and accept the fact we will live together one way or another . dont like it? create a war , kill all muslim , I FUCKING DARE YOU BITCH . then we shall see whose the monster and whose the problem .

  • @timjohan oh wait your already creating the problem , you self fish , greedy , naive bitch .

  • @zafiq19 I agree with you Islam is a world problem

  • @timjohan is that all you can say? you hate for no reason , what goes around comes around ,

  • @timjohan

    islam suck dick .......fuck muhhamad

  • Pragmatic and hard hitting session. Lee Kuan Yew is being realistic taking into consideration that Singapore is an island state with no natural resources.

  • i love him.

  • it's true that it really doesn't matter whether it's a dictator or not. the person that is most able to create a bright future for the nation should rule. besides, it's really not as bad as DICTATORSHIP.

  • half truths.

  • housing prices will never be low enough for *everyone to afford it

  • I respect Mr.Lee for being able to make hard choices in the pursuit good governance in Singapore. Many of the tough choices he made has been and still is being criticized. It is time for Singaporean to be more outward looking and instead of complaining understand that the world is unfair. there will never be a level playing field in any government elections, housing prices will never be low enough for anyone to afford it, voting for opposition for the sake of it does no good for the nation.

  • @glinkglockclock Voting for the opposition is like what Americans do when they voted for Sarah Palin. It's just out of morbid curiosity. I know this is from The Onion, but The Onion is most truthful at times even though it's satirical comedy.

  • @glinkglockclock Ahem, Not listening to the people's opinions and views does no good for the nation either. The road to hell is often paved with good intentions. No one is completely right nor wrong. Alittle humility doesn't hurt either.

  • Can you enable the ratings?

  • @asdf1231997 Better not. Some biased crazies on YouTube will rate based on the interviewee rather than the video itself.

  • His observations regarding Christianity prove that Lee is no control freak. If the grassroots ever become Christian, then so be it, "we become a different society"... that's how the dice rolls...

  • It's also great that some Singaporeans are becoming concerned about the Christian influence. These people don't believe in separation of Church and State, they will pretend to be sheep while they are few, but once they feel they have the upper hand, watch out...

  • Love his candid answer to Muslim integration, definitely not a pandering politician...

  • Very astute regarding Nokia keeping up with the competition from Korea... as is now playing out.

  • Singapore is an example of how people will never be satisfied.

Filipinos will never, in a thousand years, come up with a government as clean and competent as Singapore's, and yet some Singaporeans seem to see problems and issues which aren't really there, and still whine about stuff.

The notion of "democracy" in the Phils. is an illusion since a feudal patronage mindset is what rules the people and despite the supposed trappings of democracy, its society is ultimately neither fair nor equal.

  • Singapore is an example of how people will never be satisfied.

Filipinos will not, in a thousand years, come up with a government as clean and competent as Singapore's, and yet some Singaporeans seem to see problems and issues which aren't really there, and still whine about stuff.

  • I really respect Mr Lee, he has made hard choices to bring us where we are today...look at the Singaporeans now, will they bring Singapore to greater heights? I just hope arrogance and complacency will not prevail. LKY has sacrifices so much for our nation, armchair critics should be ashamed

  • am lucky to find your video here. thanks.i wanna download this video.

  • The risk of a benevolent dictatorship is when the person who's next in line is a flop or a crook and then there's no system in place to replace the leadership.

  • Mr Lee has done alot for Singapore. Give him the credit. We are living in a secure and stable country. We don't go hungry. We travel freely. Our wives or daughters do not have to work as maids. Yes, life is tough, but we cannot eat the whole cake. We have got to share and work together so we grow. The day we stop growing, we go down hill. Don't kid ourselves, we can lose it all if we are not careful. Yes, we want more opposition to keep PAP in check, but don't vote blindly.

  • I am a Malaysian chinese citizen, and I believe that MM Lee Kuan Yew is the greatest and wisest politician alive on this planet. He is a living legend. I hope he lives to be a 100 years old so that he will continue to guide and make Singapore rise to be greater than it already is.

  • @DuncanTheGreat make it 200!

  • Mr Lee is a man of honor and a great leader. He well read history and he understood that city states don't survive long, at most 50 to 100 years. He wanted to break that "cycle or curse" by giving his "baby" Singapore the best governance. Whether he can break that "curse" waits to be seen, but it appears that with rise and fall of countries and states, and the complacency of the younger generations, 100 years from now, one can only read from history books about the great things of Singapore!

  • isnt this copyrighted material.

  • what a truly great man..MM Lee

  • just gotta love a legendary pragmatist. Can we borrow this man to rule our country? We'll abolish Congress, Senate and other roadblocks for this guy? We want this kind of a dictator.

  • @inityminiwur Haha. You need a dictator sometimes. It doesn't matter how he's being oppressive sometimes, as long as he makes everything work.

  • @inityminiwur I know how you feel!!!!! Here in Australia I feel the same way. He is a great man.

  • What a great and wise man.

  • there's some hot hot stuff here hotter than chilli padis rubbed into your face

  • The ONLY Hard Truth is that this man does not want to give up his Top post. Not until he ....

  • @faq7eww he has retired u dumb nut =.=

  • Oo how did you upload a 1 hr vid on youtube? gj.

  • @gerty94 YouTube allows selected users to upload videos longer than 15 minutes. I was lucky to be one of those.
