This marks the first day of the Hindu solar calendar.The farmers prepare the fields for cultivation of paddy and there is a feeling of joy around. It is a time of celebrations as Spring arrives and there is happiness all around. It also marks the advent of seeding time.

I remember this Bihu performance..This was from 2007 Rongali Bihu celebration in New Delhi, by Assam Association....The whole crowd was dancing along with this amazing performance...Really very cute dance!!..Hats of to those kids...specially that lil gal..
