  • My neighbors own one of the houses facing the island. Straight shot from there... but that lake is so unpredictable!

  • Jackson Hill Marina area does not have stumps and deep water...great location for water sports...

  • been caught in a few storms myself on rayburn. last one i got caught in we flipped an 18 foot flat bottom in a storm that blew in out of no where! luckily we had everything strapped in and was able to right the boat and after a few hairy moments had the motor running and ran our butts to shore!

  • We used to call it Snake Island!

  • I have been on Rayburn in several storms over the years. When the clouds start gathering it is time to run for shelter. I was caught once on the water in a boat when ski rope tangled in impeller shaft.....nightmare city!

  • yea made it out ok-the wind blew us too far up on the bank & the propr quit. we had to wait it out. our friends in another boat had a cabin so we climbed over & in w/ them & waited it out! boat fired back up afterwards...was scary! watch out for stumps if you go wakeboarding on rayburn. i suggest going close to the dam. near twin dikes marins or powell park area. deeper water.

  • spooky. So, you guys make it out ok? I am wanting to take my boat out at Sam Rayburn for some wakeboarding. I would love an insiders prospective in best beaches, coves, dangers, etc.
