@SeethingGreen He needs to be so much more angry and his speech needs to be quicker and more emphatic. Your right, the pace was too slow and so many pauses.
I only know this because I acted this scene out so many times when I studied A Streetcar Named Desire in Drama at College. I played Stanley a lot and I found it worked so much better when I shouted more was more intimidating.
Other than that though this adaptation isn't half bad.
There's a reason every actor to take on the role of Stanley has imitated Brando, his portrayal is absoloutely perfect. Any other interpretation is inferior.
Has nothing to do with Brando. He said everything with exaggeration and fake emotions, even throwing down the dish, looked like an act. He pronounced every sentence like he was playing to an audience, not like talking to his wife and wife's sister. It was forced and fake.
Sorry, one to many rum and cokes last night.....i agree with your initial comment....just that some people seem quite arrogant on their acting knowledge, which i find a pain in the arse!!!!
@HollywoodKing87 The word complicated means "composed of elaborately interconnected parts; complex." Yes, keep it simple, tell your own truth, but to say that acting isn't composed in elaborately interconnected parts is simply foolish.
I quite like him. He is not trying to imitate Marlon Brando, which seems to be happening, in every other clip ive watched of streetcar. Nice to see an actor bring his own interpretation of a character.
Ah, the pacing was all off. Way too slow, just dragged.

Sorry but I dis agree, admittedly brando was super, but if actors only impersonated, then, where would creatvity come from???

Unbelievably fake and put on. People don't act this way in real life. No real emotions, just bad acting.
HollywoodKing87 2 years ago
So basically you think everyone should act like marlon brando???

I admire your confidence, however i feel the day any man thinks he ''knows his acting'' he really knows nothing about it at all.....happy christmas

You have to LIVE on stage. Everything has to be natural and truthful. Acting isn't that complicated.

True, good comment

The best thing an actor can ever have is humility, when ego gets in the way, an actor is fuc........

....and what did that have to do with what i said? i agree with your comment but i wasnt talking about egos...
